UFO - TV Series - Sky 1 Shoots Down A UFO

These were VERY elaborate fx to create with 1960's film technology...especially for a tv show.

In the episode "Timelash", there's a scene where a UFO is chasing Cmdr. Straker in his car down a deserted English highway. That sequence still kicks ass today.

@RAIDERS58th Good question! A UFO sure didn't have any problems blasting a mobile and it's 6 crewmen into Pink Dust. Splat! Perhaps it used earth's atmosphere as a speed brake so it's hull heated up and ionization built up, so that its targeting equipment could not track Sky 1 during its descent.

I think the UFOs must suffer a power drain after reaching Earth...they never have much fire power to throw around till they've landed and had a wee rest! Great show, though, one of the all-time greats!

It should. Producer Garry Anderson did both series. Probably had some leftover special effects from Thunderbirds thanks to some Moron's decision to cancel that show.
