This guy is a legend, anyone who starts off in a Hachi Roku will always have better appreciation for classic JDM cars. The stuff dreams are made of. <3
This is PERFECT. Babalouie is a fucking legend and the interview is really good, car is something dreams are made of and the specific vehicle most of my mates aspire to own later in life. Absolutely love it
whats the name you call people you are jealous of -WELL THATS THE NAME HE DESERVES-na but i am jealous -you one lucky dude-i was gonna sell my R32 GTR to buy one untill i found out how much in NZ $ it was going to cost -all the best dude -you one lucky man
Read through JNC about this one. Great to see you worked out all the bugs. Must have been a good bargain needing so much work to make street worthy again.
We have a video in our section on one recently picked up. Have a look.
I drove Kevin's DR30 around Mt Panorama (admittedly it was only one lap, fairly sedate because there was a highway patrol car ominously parked on Conrod) and that was quite a treat.
After experiencing just one lap in one of Kevin's tweaked cars, I'm sure his Hako is just amazing.
Older cars like these seem to have a life of there own, A Living thing.....when you drive one you can feel the car talking to you...comunicating what is feeling from the road, its mechanical parts, you become connected, you become ONE.....Every true car guy knows exactly what im talking about. ;)
@Bosmob I LOVE cars period.....Japanese,American,European....Mazda RX3, 68Barracuda or a shoebox 55,56,57 Chevy even a classic like a Duesenberg or a Cord....You see I just feel older cars have a personality, it becomes more personal. In 1973 my Dad due to the gas crisis traded in his 68 Plymouth Barracuda for a 73 Datsun 1200 in Japan known as a "Sunny". I was mad as hell, I told him pop's what have you done? Whats funny its today I would kill to have either car . Hahaa enjoy the ride.
@rotativo13 Yeah I get what you mean when you say cars are alive. I can experience that every day whenever I hop into my 72 Chevelle or 59 Edsel.
But choosing American cars to restore and have fun with was a no brainer for me cause I live in America. Trying to get parts for a Skyline or a Cedric etc... is a pain because I don't speak Japanese and I don't know anybody in Japan that could supply me with parts.
dream car hopefully i can have one oneday

This is one of the most beautiful cars I have ever seen.
Under the bonnet it looks like my 910, which is in many pieces in my garage. Hopefully this will be an inspiration to fix it up.

@FEASTJAPAN Not really, it was actually quite expensive :-)
MX5Dorifto 2 months ago
@MX5Dorifto
I would ask what the FOB value was before shipping but that would be rude.
We normally FOB quote 2.2 up to 2.5 million yen for one in good order, newer resto, o/h'd engine, susp., etc.

@rotativo13 You make more sense then anything i've ever heard my friend. :)
kimgulle 1 month ago
@rotativo13 now all the American JDM enthusiats finally get why people drive around in old cars.
But in America it is far cheaper and easier to restore and modify American cars from the 60's and 70's than it is a 70's Japanese car.
