  • This made me cry...

  • This pedal made me sad

  • 1:40 = worst sound ever!!!!!

  • Let's add more top.

    No.

Let's crank it all the way up!

    Let's not.

Let's crank the distortion all the way up and see what it does!

    LET'S NOT!

  • what the fuck?! 2 cabinet mesa and randal!!!! woooow the mesa boogie is my dream... =(

  • @BenClark3 i probably did it on purpose, if they play a song like Walk the right way without getting legal permission then they can get in a lot of trouble, so yea he could have played it wrong cause he's stupid, or it could have just been a leag thing too

  • I`m asking, what did you try to play at 1:40?

  • @donSparda that supposed to be Walk by Pantera

  • You play pantera... FUCKING HORRIBLE

  • clean?

  • i got metal muff and i get awful feedback and noises so i cant even use it on stage. any idea what could be causing that?

  • @Ambipath top boost?

  • This video is a perfect example of why you should try the pedal yourself.

  • Sounded EXACTLY like Pantera!!!!!!! lol

  • Buy my metal muff off amazon!!!!SHOOT ME A MESSAGE IF YOU WANT TO AND I WILL GIVE YOU A 10% DISCOUNT!!!!! COOL STUFF STORE

  • "Lets add more Top Boost. Crank it all the way up." NOOOOOO

  • That was Walk? OMG

  • dude, this sound is a piece of shit......godammit

  • its too fuzzy, needs more amp sound

  • @thehypersexxxual well..its a fuzz pedal..

  • thats the worst cover of walk.....ever

  • completly wrong...lmao...fail

  • If that's clean, then I'm a banana...

  • @FrozenSketch hahaha yeah I think it has true bypassing

  • @BenClark3 differently, not wrong.

  • ikikikikikikikik....

  • @BenClark3 I don't think he's allowed to play it exact due to copyright

  • omg that stack will fall any second now hahaha

  • having top boost all they way up, whilst playing guitar reasonably loud, FUCKING HURTS YOUR EARS!

  • I think this is one of the best American made distortion pedal out there...It doesn't use a built in preamp tube to sound great because the amp is using it's own tubes to achieve the combine tone..

  • metal muff or metal zone, what you think?

  • i have both but i use the metal muff. i think that it sounds much more analog and deep. also the metal muff has the top boost which really helps you when you play live. go for the metal muff :D

  • @Penguti how does "analog" sound? :p

  • best metal pedal evär!

  • looked into a boss metal zone but u know, it just doesn't give u the mental chaos that the metal muff can

  • dam the clean sound sucks big dicks

  • is this pedal any good for bassy chugging riffs?

  • Metal Muff or Digitech HArdwireHeavy Metal?

  • metal muff by farrrrrrrrrrrrr bro, why? 1. made in U.S.A. 2. heavier than any other sound without going to shit

  • Thanks :)

  • metal muff dude, it is heavier and more versatile

  • @memarmoo Metal muff man , don't even even think about it ...micro metal muff also is a good choice (it requires less space on yr board but it doesn't have a second foot switch)

  • @otentas does "micro"metal has the same sound as "metal" muff? thanks!!

  • @pezon48 Yes it does , not like the nano series of E.H. which is not their best moment . Its really good check it out .

  • @otentas cool, thanks for the answer !!!

  • could i get mors principium est sound with ths pedal??

  • lol... 0.25

    CLEAN sound???? :-D

  • perhaps he means "less than completely dirty" lol

  • this pedal is true bypass?

  • what is better?, a zoom g2.1u or the metal muff?

  • ur comparing 2 completly different things. the metal muff is a stomp box, the zoom is a multi fx pedal. if your looking for straight ditortion, metal muff. if you want crazy effects like wah and flange and phaser and all that, than the zoom

  • apple or orange

  • Just got it today, and i fuckin the it. I had to trade in my metal core for this, and it was worth it.

  • @rrippp thats only because of the EQ he has on it. I have used this pedal and I got the most brutal sound ever with it. also note he hardly has any low end on it in this video. I always crank the low end up to 3:00 an it sounds great.

  • WOW!!! Great demo. I have a jekyll and hyde and wanted something with a bit more grunt to it and was thinking of getting the MXR full bore but outside of the noise gate this thing blows the full bore away, I think.

  • Just got one last week...DEVASTATING and wonderful!

  • I'm going to buy this one !!!!!!!

  • i have the mt2 from boss but im going to buy this one metal muff! i think the Mmuff is better what u think?

  • its easy. METAL MUFF

  • I'm doing the same thing. I'm selling my MT-2 on eBay and then buying the Metal Muff. I believe its way better than the MT-2

  • the mt2 is basically the worst pedal you can get for metal, it's so thin and tinny that's only use is lofi black metal and the like

  • @kenan6346 as I said to rrippp, thats only because of the EQ he has on it. I have used this pedal and I got the most brutal sound ever with it. also note he hardly has any low end on it in this video. I always crank the low end up to 3:00 an it sounds great.

  • @DeathIsTheI3eginning: I basically crank all the knobs on it to the max setting (except mid frequency, which is at 11 oclock). the sound i get out of it is acceptable, but you can do much better. the HM pedals are better

  • if u want to buy a metal muff, don't buy a mini or nano because this can get a regular big muff tone plus a metal tone and it's samaller than a big muff

  • it sounds pretty good it's self, although has anyone used it for gigging?

looking to know if its good over drums etc

  • ive got a great simple mod for this......

    you will need a 100uf capacitor a 10k resistor a hammer and a strong arm....just hit repeatedly....

p.s don't bother with the cap n resitor...

  • i got one and im so happy (:

  • should i get this or a boss mt2

  • u should get this. I Promise my friend has the boss mt2 this is better, The boss lack some bass and the Top Boost is really nice!

  • easily the metal muff

  • THIS MAN see youve been thumbsed down 3 times. this pedal destroys the metal zone i used to have a mt fuck that pedal.

  • def this you get the top bost with this and you can use it for solos its what i use it for dont get me wrong the boss mt2 is gr8 but this has that top boast

  • THIS!. me think

  • it sounded like so shitty with the gain all the way up lol

  • great DRIVE!!111

  • All of that boost and distortion hurt my ears.

  • should i get this or a Boss metal core, metal zone, or a Spider uber metal for metallica sounds?

  • Do you really want to kick some ass...then I would suggest you go for the Boss MT-2 Metal Zone, Modified by Keeley, its Fantastic, I just got mine like a week ago and man, this kicks ass...you get sounds from Nickelback to Metallica, to Zakk Wylde....let me know if you need more info..

  • Korn?

  • I prefer the Metal muff :D I got one

  • none. Get a mesa boogie amp or a ibanez tube screamer.

  • could you get big muff pi tones with this?

  • This guy is really sloppy at guitar. Half Decent review.

  • Either the Metal Muff or the Blackstar.

  • If you would take off the top boost it would sound much more clear... all the top boost does is boost trebs for lead

  • would it sound good still if you had the distortion on the amp turned up with this pedal?

  • i hope to god its not a spider 3 or any of there modeling amps...

  • Ughh I made the mistake of buying a Spider 3.

  • ha you think a spider 3 is bad play a spider 1

  • it sounds great. the only downpoint is that it only has the "american tone" for metal. if you're looking for british tone, check out Twin Tube Mayhem by seymour duncan. whle it's not 100% british tone, it can be tweaked to be that way.

  • Thanks for the report.

  • @GearVault I have one and I found how to european sound...

  • @RealDeadOne666 coolstory bro

  • @RealDeadOne666 Electro-Harmonix - English Muff'n - Tube Overdrive if u want brittish

  • @RealDeadOne666 is judas included?:)

  • it would be great if he messed with MORE THAT THE FUCKING TP BOOST!!

  • Ive got this pedal and its actually a great pedal if you use it right. I have a b52 tube amp and it sounds very compressed and tight with my Jackson. Different pickups, guitar woods and more effect the way it sounds....its generally a very good metal pedal.

  • what would you say is a better pedal? the boss metal zone mt-2 or the metal muff? be honest :)

  • The muff. The metal zone is crap.

The Guyatone MM-X (Metal Monster) is the best.

  • For playing doom/sludge/stoner like eletric wizard it is possible ?

  • haha nice metal core tones there!!!could of tuned to like a drop c but w/e

  • this video shows only a bad sides of that pedal. With normal hands this is a very good thing to play in many extreme metal styles. Really better that that kind of shit, like metal zone, metal core, uber metal, death metal and other shit!

  • I have an ubermetal, its not that bad

Its not as digital as everyone says it is

dont beat a tube amp, obviously, but it gets nicer palm mutes than this pedal, high end on the ubermetal leaves something to be desired though.

The boss ones suck though, thats true

  • this sounds crap...

  • so does yah mum

  • you can tell he likes metal if thats his clean tone!

  • hehe, probably as clean as he could get that old randall :p

  • is this a noisy pedal???? pls help,,,,,,, which is better this one or the digitech hardwire metal distortion????? helppppppp.. ive got a boss mt2 already and i want more metal sound

  • This pedal is a bit sharp and fizzy, the digitech hardwire range looks excellent, so im going to say go with that

  • keep your MT-2, put an MXR Kerry KIng 10- band EQ in front of your pedal and you will find endless possibilities.....keep it metal, Jake.

  • i think its a good pedal just need to fuck around the settings to get your sound. Surprisingly it goes a bit too distorted sometimes

  • hmmm those cleans sucked

  • i have this pedal...trust me it sounds better than his recording...if you want the true metal sound put bass up all the way..mid around 6-8 and treble around 4 or 5...great sound

  • this pedal rules, kicks the boss metal core/ metal zones ass !

  • yeah its a fridge

  • i like it, but can it have a good bass end on it cause the way he is playing is too trebly for death metal...on this video i think it sounds like shit. i have yet to try one. anyone know if it's better than a damage control demonizer which is out of stock everywhere

  • Probably he has the bass setting on the pedal/amp low.

But always remember with guitars/amps/pedals always try them in the shop. It sucks if you've bought something which at home find out sucks.

  • this pedal gives a rough FUZZ sound that the BOSS dosn't have. but if you go BOSS, go METAL CORE over metal zone, metal core in studio, metal muff 4 rig.

  • is this pedal beter than the boss metal zone/metal core?

  • Yes it is

  • realy heavy \m/

  • hah, this beats the snot out of a metalcore pedal, but the distortion knob should be cranked, the top boost should be rather low usually... but some people like ruining their tone.

  • you wont go wrong if you have this pedal, trust me. he had the top boost on for like 80% of the video..which will make your tone shit...unless your soloing.

  • The Boss Metal Core sounds too processed. I'm not a fan of the digital or processed sound. Maybe it's the new trend, just not for me.

  • Too each his own...I'll admit that this pedal sounds better for most rock and slightly heavy stuff, but if you want all out chug chug heaviness, the metal-core is the way to go.

  • maybe if u messed with the EQ? idk, ive never used it, but he has the bass a little low, maybe if you cranked the bass control? idk, its just an idea

  • its most likely because he had the top boost on the whole time, and he has no idea how 2 EQ it. The top boost was designed with soloing in mind. Not for your regular tone. If you remember, his tone wasn't terrible when he didnt have the top boost on. youtube is partly 2 blame as well, cause it compresses the shit out of everything. The metal core is a nice pedal, but there is a lot of compression and volume loss in my opinion. The metal muff and the landmine are the 2 best pedals you can find.

  • This or MT2?

  • I've got both. The MT2 sounds quite good but also very excessive. The Metal Muff sounds more natural.

    They're both great!

  • i just want to know when i buy this little bad ass killer Metal Muff would i be able to hook it up with my guitar and my guitar to be hooked up to my computer thanks (SRY for English i am Bulgarian)

  • No. You will need a direct box like the Behringer GI100, which kicks ass for the $60 anyway.

  • my metal muff has silver knobs Oo ...old version?

  • ordered it today for my guitar hobby.... ( im a bassist ) hope it rules!!! it sounded amazing in the store when i tried it. thru a tube amp.

  • pretty thin sounding and too edgy IMHO compared w/ line6 ubermetal... it also has a built in noise gate... unwanted noises is way jumping with metal muff... and too short in mid in whatever settings i did... im more of middish chug-chug guy... it gives more punch and crunch to harmonix rather than treb and bass alone attacks... thats how i define TRUE metal chug-chug sound... beefy MID... this would work with solos though... but for shredding... nu uh!... go for line6 ubermetal...

  • I agree, the Metal Muff isn't for shredding.

  • So, if i want this to get a sound as close as Pantera, i wouldn't be able to play lead guitar? lol.

    I don't understand, please reply!

  • With the top boost engaged, sure. Otherwise, I thought it sounded a bit dull for leads, but to each of their own.

  • Hey thank you so much for replying, i think im gonna buy it with the top boost

  • I wonder what it will do to my Peavey 5150. Does anyone know if it will thicken up my tone? I plan on using it as a boost on my dirty channel.

  • Yes it will. Also check our Guyatone MMX Metal Monster clip.

  • God i wish i had an amp that sounded so gritty on clean!!!

  • if you have M/B rectifier or Randall, you do not need Metal Muff.. :)

  • does this pedal worth the purchase?

  • I think this pedal sounds great, but this video would have turned me off to it if I hadn't already heard it elsewhere.

  • Don't forget to subscribe to our feed at GEAR-VAULT (dot) com

  • Can some one help me ?

    because I don't know what's best.

This pedal ( Metal Muff ) or

    the Boss- Metal Zone???

    Can anyone Help me?

  • the metal zone... it is very good

  • The Muff

  • The Metal zone because then you could mod it and make it amazing. Try to find the Keeley Metal Zone. For the most part though I just like using my amp overdrive with a boost pedal.

  • what pedal will give me the HARDEST HEAVIEST maetal sound??? is this a good pedal? also, i have a line 6 spider 3 amp

  • Hahahaha, fail.

    "i have a line 6 spider 3 amp "

    There is your problem.

  • fucking crazy awesome

  • Yes, Diamond.

I hope you actually realize that Darrell used the name Diamond long before Dimebag instead of making a complete fool of yourself without knowing who DIAMOND DARRELL is.

Oh, and I couldn't care less if the guy in the video can play or not. I never mentioned him at all.

  • I have this pedal playing with EMG 81 + a 89' JCM 800 and it kicks FUCKIN' ASS!!!

  • i want it soooooooo much

  • I dig the metal muff. I use it in conjunction with a regular big muff and a tubescreamer.

  • "Really darkens it up"

Meah. I have the metal muff too, it sounds great for metallica like sounds, however, I want more attack on the palm mutes and I cannot seem to get it, driving me insane, if some have ideas, hit me.

  • You need an exciter, like an Aphex aurel exciter or a BBE sonic maximizer. That'll increase the attack and definition of the sound and really make palm muting stand out. That's what Diamond Darrell used.

  • what amp are you using?

  • None actually, I have a Marshall DFX 100, but I outgrew the sound of that thing (the muff sounds awefull on that). I used it through a clean channel on Amplitube, with some modifications, but it just doesnt have the bite.. Like this vid, its sounds so thin, the kind of song I enjoy these days is like Sikth or Periphery. A nice bass but still clear on the highs (a bit sloppy jazz like on the highs)

  • yeah man, trying to get that nice bassy chest pounding palm-muting sound with amplitude is damn near impossible. this pedal has a nice low end, and a LOT of highs to fuck with.

id say your best bet to get that sound is to get a half stack, or even a small combo (no smaller than a 12" speaker, and mic it up, front, back, room, and experiment with mic types)

i run my rig thru a Roland Cube 60 on the blackface, with very light gain, and it hits SO hard. the bite hurts at high volumes :)

  • if you want to go amp-less, i also use a Behringer V Amp Pro, and you can dial in a SHIT ton of low end, so that your headphones will be shaking. i run my whole rig thru that as well; works great for 3 am practicing. set the vamp pro to its "live 1/2" setting and it just OWNS. get a nice clean going and the metal muff does the rest. try out digitechs metal master, that pedal also has GREAT palm muting bass

  • Hmm, I could try the Behringer thing. A stack isnt an option right now, Im living in an apartment and the room where my home studio is suited, is very small. Plus I'll be studying in Spain in August so I couldnt even use it to the full extent. Have you tried Revalver 3 btw? Its like Amplitube/Guitar Rig etc, only better, from what I have heard. Peavey now owns it. I'll check out that metal master thing in the next few, cheers for the replies mate!

  • yeah no problem my man, i am in the same boat. i live in an apt. and have no way to play loud, so the V amp Pro saves my ass big time. it really sounds convincing when you mix any music in with it, or record it. just find a good clean, set it up, and plug your rig in. drums are actually my main instrument, so as u can surmise, i NEVER get to play. good luck to ya, ill try to give revalver a shot at my friends studio. but yeah metal master/metal muff, i have both, and love em both \m/

  • i got fo christmas

    broke the next day

    any idea's on why

  • Now I know ,.... don't need an RG100ES or a MM with top boost....Can o' angry bees.......:)

    Good demo though!
