I remember them live on the Chris Evans show 'TFI Friday' many moons ago, Kelli was on vocals and they did an absolutely incredible version of Spin Spin Sugar... In Fact the Best version i have heard by some distance, Kelli's vocals were awesome and Chris's guitar work was almost Psychedelic. Have been looking for it on Youtube for years...

I have several theories why the band sounds horrible overall.

1. They got paid in Burger King Whoppers, 2 small drinks, and medium french fries

2. All the fans were on acid trips, so the band was like fuck it lets just half-ass this one

I saw them live once, back when Trip-Hop was getting some traction in the mid nineties. Anyway, she was still with them at that point and she did a good job in that performance. She does sound terrible here though, so maybe it's a bad sound system? Maybe she's sick? Whatever, she was good when I saw her.

no.... she sounded like that in all live performances I have seen unfortunately. Some singers have a difficult time replicating live what they do in the studios. I do like her though :)

the problem is, (& i think you can confirm this by looking at some of the other concert posts here), that when chris sings songs that Kelli usually sings, its creepy, plain & simple. he looks creepy (and i think that is a generous term) to the point that i'm buzz-killed. it should law that a band cant take a song a girl sings & have a guy sing it, especially when the guy looks like chris which doubles the creepiness factor. Kelli's voice can be off a bit but at least she is easy on the eyes.

Its probably because I fell in love with the music, the writing, and her voice first. I would of never listened to the great music and writing if Chris was the singer originally.
