Hi moxie...I'm glad you were able to see your grandfather and find out more about your family...I truly wish I knew more on my family and cultures ...I know my family is a mixture I just wish I knew more relatives and more on my cultures thats very important to me too.
thanks for another great video keep them up even though this is an older video ;)
Hello Miss Moxie,I did not know where youre originally from, but I was guessing because of the way you are sharing your informations about your hair style in you tube.I though you have Haitians blood. It takes people like you who love yourself with a proud that came from generation to generation to let the world know your back ground. However,Americans government after all that they do to Haiti. Using the media, other strategy to put Haitians down, but is not going to happen because we are strong.
Hey moxie. I'm glad you were able to go home and meet your grandfather. I could tell it was a very emotional part of your trip. I'm haitian too. One thing's for sure I need to learn kreyol! My grandmother says she comes from the part of Haiti 6 hrs away from PAP. I didn't even know Haiti was that big and mountainous. Thanks for your vid, it further proves that its always good to find out where you come from. It'll be something you'll cherish.
i know what you meant sweety. just reminding everyone not to limit our history to only that island. we belonged to great nations before our holocaust. much love. un jour Haiti sera aussi grand qu'elle etais en 1804! Haiti cherie'm nan, "lamou ap blayi lan keu'm pou ou!"
i dont understand y ppl put two thumbs down on my comment. ppl sound like parrots when they say "haiti is the first independent nation in the world". i mean, really evaluate what that sentence states. they were not the first in the world. only in the western hemisphere. u know where haitians came from? From great nations in Africa, like Songhai. THATS where they got the balls to do what they did to the Napoleon. READ A BOOK!
They don't say first independant nation in the world. They say first black nation in the world. You are the one that need to read a book dear ahhahahha lol shame on you
Thank you for telling everyone about our history and that the media makes Haiti look like the entire country is ravaged by poverty, Haiti is beautiful and so are our people. Congratulations for taking the initiative to research your family and your many heritages.
hi moxie i aint lie right i realy like what you did i will love to do it to but a little prblm cause me cant do it what i realy wanna tell you we maybe family you look like my parents
I didn't Google it. I go to school. That's where I learned it.
Great Vid! I feel the same as u. I am a Dark skinned African American, but all of my life and all of the time people ask me if I am Hatian. I look like my mom's dad. My mom did not know her paternal grandfather at all. I wonder if he was Hatian or from the part of Africa where the Hatians came from. I have even fooled Hatians with my look. Although my mom is never mistaken for Hatian, so I wonder if it is the influence of my dad's Bahamian mom's genes. I would love to know and share!
hi miss moxie! im also haitian and my paternal grandmother is from jacmel. shes completley mixed as well ( i believe shes venezuelean (sp?) dutch and haitain) i have always wanted to go to haiti and see where my family was born. but no one wants to join me, maybe one day i will ;)

Haiti is not the first Black republic. They are the first to have gained independence from Europeans in the Western Hemisphere, but obviously countries and republics exhisted BEFORE being occupied by Europeans.
