  • @tplesnrd86- you are very welcome!

  • @tplesnrd86 I had those white go-go boots and the long hippie beads too! And remember the grannie glasses and the grannie gown dresses! We actually got thrown out of school for wearing them! Wild fashions, body paint, flower power and all that stuff! Loved it!

  • @horsenaround I was 13 when this came out & only dressed up as a hippie on Halloween's. Would you believe that the 2 Sixth grade teachers wore miniskirts, barefeet, & granny glasses - in class?!?!?!?!?!?!? We were too young to be hippies, so when we came of age in like 1974, we tried to re-create the 60's in music & substances.

  • @wonderlin1 All the guys grew their hair really long, the girls wore miniskirts and roman sandals with laces all the way up the legs, we painted flowers on our faces and on our legs and even some girls wore those wide bell bottom pants to school! We all got kicked out so many times for going against our schools dress code, but we fought against it and won the right for girls to wear miniskirts and pants and guys didnt have to wear suit jackets anymore! We were true hippies!

  • I was only one but enjoyed it on the radio in the 70s

  • Aww, I love this :D

  • 4 people got dizzy and pressed the dislike button accidently

  • I met Tommy in Beverly Hills and in Hollywood, he was taking piano lesson from a Friend of mine...

  • I remember putting this on as a kid, then spinning 'round and 'round in circles in the living room like a propeller, then I'd fall on the floor laughing giddily and trying to sing the chorus.

  • A classic in it's own rights

  • one of the few times that i will admit that an artist's most well-known song also happens to be my favorite(from that artist). This ranks very high as a modern compositional masterpiece, and i have played it for every woman i ever fell in love with.

  • Reminds me of the time they played this on the 'Waltzers' at Blackpool Pleasure Beach. It lent itself to the music - and that was 1969 - I was just turned 18 and allowed to go on a long weekend. Ahhh sweet memories = Thanks for this!

  • Early to rise, we gotta get paid

Early to bed yo we gotta get laid

I think it's time for us to make fresh rhymes outta our head.

    CLASSIC!!!

  • A little six -year-old danced that silly, jerking, 60s dance to this. Happiest time of my life.

  • looking for a song called "Tommy" my mom always used to play it, "Tommy, you'd always bring me flowers, Tommy, we'd sit and talk for hours"....that's all I can remember...if anyone knows the artist...I think it was delrays or something, can't find it anywhere, thanks!

but yet, I feel I did miss it!

  • @TheLadandLass

Thank you for doing your part.

  • This song actually sounds "dizzy" I don't know how they made musical instruments personify such an abstract feeling but it sure is cool.

  • After all these years I'm still "Dizzy" Ha Ha Good memories.

  • OMG TOMMY ROE IS MY UNCLE!!!!

  • OMBG TOMMY ROE IS MY UNCLE!!!!

  • Here comes another comment about age. I'm 22, and music from my generation is not about music, it's entirely about image.

It's sad, to think of what we've come from, to where we are now.

Let me leave you with this: 1960's mainstream = Beatles. 2010's mainstream: Justin bieber.

  • SANDLOT 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I believe this was released early in '69 as i seem to recall it playing before I was released from active duty in May '69. I think he;s first on the charts was Sheila, when I was still in High School. I remember Crimson and Clover from '66 and actually worked on that on the guitar.

  • 2 people were dizzy

  • sandlot 2 <33333

  • Thanx for postin' this 1, Ron! Good bubblegum from '69. Billboard's 252nd #1 hit of the rock era. God bless! 1 dizzy person doesn't like this 1.

  • This song reminds me back in 1969 being sick as a dog with the Hong Kong flu stuck on the couch for days. My only relief was my transistor radio listening to KQV. When Dizzy played I felt dizzy and even worse. And they spun it a lot! Nothing against the tune. I think 'its now winters day" is his best song.

  • Like I said Ron... you've got it DOWN. ;-) Thanks again for a great share! Keep 'em comin'! We used to sing all of Tommy's songs in the girls' locker room back then, and talk about our boyfriends---and that's all I'm sayin'. :-| ;-D

  • does anyone else wish lyrics to song were so simple and focused. when all life stressed you with was a look from a cute girl, dont here no shit like that anymore

  • aaarrgghh! memory overload!

  • @TheBadgerslayer Yeah, the escalating War in Vietnam & its death toll, police riots in Chicago, Hells Angel's killing a concert goer @ Altamount...

  • LOL, my cat is curled up by the window? as i play lovely classics tonight?: oh i popped some popcorn too?lol merry christmas :)

  • This was a bit before my time. But I remember hearing it on an oldies station in about 89, and the announcer saying it was the first bubblegum hit after a few years of the air waves having nothing but hippie stuff. Well done, Tommy Roe!

  • Does anyone remember this being used in a cadburys twirl ad?? cant find it..used to love as a kid!

  • im dizzy now.. IM SO HIGH!

  • Whirlpool logo made me laugh much to my personal disappointment. Great song.

  • My first boyfriend gave me this album for this one song..couldnt have been more than 10 years old. Times were so much simpler then...

  • The recording included Joe Osborn on bass.
