Hey guys you seem like good guitar players and not too bad when your pissed. Just want to ask about the Ibanez SV. Was it set up alright out of the box and does it stay in tune well. Thanks!!!
@neilreynard It depends. When I bought mine it had either come not setup or had been messed with by someone because I had to take it to get setup for about $75. However, I happened to see another one in Guitar Center and played it just for fun and it was setup perfect . It stays in tune well unless you do a lot of intense bending or you really rip the wammy. I would recommend the locking nut if you plan on divebombs and such though.
i really wana get that sv so i was wondering if its easy to sweep and hows the sustain on the higher frets like above 12, and also if its rele that fucking thin?
@guitaraddict22donny I don't have any problems sweeping well on it. The one thing about this guitar is that you HAVE to get it setup professional unless you obviously have experience with bridges like the one on the SV. It honestly played pretty much like shit until I had it setup. After that the sustain and playability is great. And yes it's just about as thin as they could have built the thing. I like it and how light it is but some people may not.
I love the thing man. My one and only issue is that the bridge pick up is not quite as chunky sounding as I'd like for some rhythm sections but otherwise the guitar is mint.
The thing with guitars is that you need to find one that caters to your playing style. For example, the Prestige has a wider neck compared to my PRS, but my hands are large and my fingers are long so I can make more deliberate finger movements without worrying about touching the adjacent strings while running a scale.
There's a whole lot of guitars out there in the price range, and if you want to take a look at them I'd simply get on Guitar Center's website and pick a price range. Go out and try A LOT of them without making a quick decision. It might seem like they're all similar but try to pay close attention to little nuances like where your hand rests on the bridge, if knobs get in the way etc, accessibility of pickup switch, 22/24 fret, how it stays in tune.
how did you guys get so good? what methods of learning did you really use

Rhythm guy needs a chunkier distortion for rhythm, IMO, minus so much delay. Just sounds like treble noise when you play together.

u guys should keep it up and make more of these! protest is like my favorite band (maybe 2nd idk) and i like hearing stuff that sounds like them
MrCoolio0760 2 years ago
Thanks man, yea we definitely enjoy Protest, and tend to write in that vein. But once we meet up again we'll have plenty of new videos and shit.
