Mikitty's voice has always been perfect for those softer, more raspy songs. Plus she is actually a fairly good singer too - incredible and unique voice. She sang a soft song for Uta Doki that was really great.
It is my understanding that she was not expected to have any new songs after the scandal, but the writer of this song handpicked her to perform it. As for the style, it is an enka song, but it is a very softcore enka. I rather like it.
