  • I want a damn corvega!!!!

  • I have to admit, I played Fallout 3 first, simply because I'd never heard of Fallout 1 & 2, and now that I've played Fallout 1 & 2, I realize that a lot of the greatness that I saw in Fallout 3 was simply things Bethesda had copied from the originals, or was inspired by them. So maybe I have a bit of a bias, but that doesn't change the fact that all the games in the Fallout series are really great games.

  • Fallout 1 > Fallout 3

fallout 3 have short story, Bad interation

ok, fallout 3 is a good game, but fallou 1 is 10*fallout3

  • NMA troooollllssss...

  • if i see a tv working in that world i would take it

  • Ron Perlman is awesome making the voiceover in the intro!

  • I thought that Galaxy News Radio was only availible in D.C

  • GNR was a part of GNN, Galaxy News Network, the logo of which you can see in the intro.

GNR could have been nationwide (I'm assuming, since GNN is like the CNN of the pre-war Fallout world) but since the world got blown up it's obviously difficult to maintain nationwide radio access so it was limited to DC.

  • Where the GNR headquarters is obviously.

Note that doesn't mean the GNR headquarters is the GNN headquarters, wherever that is hasn't been established yet.

  • @BloodPigggy there's a real life GNN

  • @BloodPigggy Wow, I thought you had some REAL points

I'm guessing you're the kind of trolls that goes around yelling "FALLOUT 3 IS OBLIVION WITH GUNS" while never played Oblivion or Fallout 3

  • "I'm guessing..." bluh, bluh, bluh,

  • @BloodPigggy Average Black Isle fan

  • Average penis.

  • @BloodPigggy dude stfu

  • Your mum.

  • @BloodPigggy a your mom joke classic i would get upset if it wasnt for the fact that iam 20 and know how to spell

  • Don't be so mad that I've insulted your mum.

  • @ShAdOwViRuSiAn dude stfu

  • im glad that new vegas will be in the west coast if it is im hoping we get the ole classic enclave armour from fallout 1

  • I love all of the Fallout games, other than Tactics and BoS, which I haven't tried. Honestly, I think Bethesda did a good job with the series and I'm excited to see what New Vegas will end up like.

  • Still, I think Bethesda sort of buchered the amazing SPECIAL and Skills system Black Isle had in the first two. Charisma was reduced to an almost useless stat, SPECIAL skills have nearly no influence on conversation, no more stupid characters :D

SPECIAL skills in general have far less effect in Fo3. In Fo2 in Vault Cities vault, with a high perception, you would notice a rattling vent, you could fix it with a high repair, to get XP, no such thing happens with any Special skill really in Fo3.

  • Wats the name of the song. Oh and people, don't compare fallout 3 to oblivion, i mean they are similar but fallout 3 is way more than "oblivion with guns" it has its history and its gameplay is unique. I mean wat other game has let u explore D.C in a post apocaliptic setting you tell me cuz i can't think of one (seriously tell cuz i wnt 2 find out im not getin mad at all jst sayin)

  • Song is called Maybe by The Ink Spots.

  • Fallout 3 is cool. Its just that som of you..let me refer u to "oldeys" still arent used to fallout 3s good gameplay and graphics...

  • Are you fucking kidding me? I play nearly every major release that comes out, the problem with Fallout 3 is that it's TOO MUCH like the other games that have been released in the genre in the past ten years.

It's Oblivion with guns, except the gameplay is even worse.

  • be quiet oldey!

  • Lies!!!

    Fallout 3 is incredible!

It is FAR superior to oblivion.

  • True.Hopefully Fallout New Vegas will be better since it being made by Obsidian Entertainment (Black Isle) .

  • Can you post a source for that? Even if it is Fallout front page. I'm not calling you out I just want something so I can get excited about it.

  • @BloodPigggy

Exactly. Fallout 3 had some potential and could have told what life was like on the East Coast, but they decided to include way to many cut and paste story elements from the first 2, and even most of Tactics. And honestly FoT did a better job coming up with interesting new factions. The Reavers are still a fave of mine. Fallout 3 is honestly just Todd "The Toddler" Howard and Emil "I'm a shitty writer" something or others poorly written wish fulfilment. Thank god they got Obsidian

  • @BloodPigggy how is it even like oblivion with guns?

I've played Oblivion and Fallout 3 and the gameplay is entirely different

for example, there's radiation in Oblivion there was nothing like that

In Oblivion there were ingredients and potions, in Fallout 3 there were non but radiated food

In Oblivion you can level up by leveling up your "Skills" like blade/blunt/sneak

But in Fallout 3 you can only lvl-up with fighting or quest (but I have to admit some of them are the same)

  • looooool

You're a retard. Keep playing Oblivion with Guns.

  • lol or maybe its not because us oldeys arent used to good graphics and good gameplay... maybe it is because we're used to good gameplay and bad graphics not bad gameplay and good graphics like fallout 3 :]

  • you got that right ;)

  • Bethesda saved the fallout series u should go check out how gay the next fallout was gonna be...

  • Bethesda brutally slaughtered fallout. ah nevermind this argument is pointless if you've never played the original fallouts. If by chance you ever do... I'd like you to pay close attention to how much sense everything makes as opposed to a place such as little lamplight in fallout 3, and notice how the writing in fallout 1-2 is actually coherent and beyond intelligent. Also try rolling a charecter with an intelligence of 1 and he'll be speaking baby language. Not possible in fallout 3 ;)

  • I'll agree with u fallout 1 and 2 were probly some of the best games to grace the gaming world. But the appeal in fallout the is there. Such as the doctor who easter eggs and suchlike.

  • Luhaja, they help save the series with out it me and many other people wouldn't have been able to actually find out about fallout 1 and 2. I'm playing fallout 1 and you gave me an idea actually rofl. but seriously with out it many people wouldn't have been able to play the game.

  • Totally agree, I mean they do make it a helluva lot more accessible, I just don't think Fo3 knows what its trying to be, an FPS? Not really, as your hit chance, damage etc are judged by skills, and RPG? Well, thats kinda tough, I've pretty much played through Fo2, which is an absolutely fantastic game btw, and it does one thing well, being an RPG, Fo3 is like some sort of simple RPG/RPG based FPS game, and I think thats its problem.

  • Couldnt agree more

  • Bethesda sort of butchered Fallout actually. Charisma is a useless stat, more of the SPECIAL skills affect about 1 game mechanic, Fo1 and 2 had an abundance of skills, all which were fairly useful (throwing, and gambling are pretty useless though) The chat system was WAY better in Fo1 and 2, special skills actually affected chat, intelligence could make or break your chat abilities, in Fo3, the only chat variation is Speech, which is far shallower than the mechanic in the first 2 games.

  • fuck you nah just kidding i just got the trilogy of Fallout (Fallout 1,2,Tactics) Tactics was fun Fo1 kept fucking up,fallout 2 was awesome but got a bit boring after a while. I managed 2 clock fallout 2 (With Advanced Power armor and Plasma Rifle hehe) it was a bit boring and i got pissed wen i encountered sum super mutants with minguns (Fark i was gona pick big guns) its kinda easy to (mind u i had a plasma rifle lol) but Fo3 is a teeny weny bit beta. Even thouh i couldnt stop playing Fo2.

  • Well IMO Fallout 3 is more popular because it is severely dumbed down to reach a wider audience, but to the people who had the mental ability to appreciate the originals were sad at the removal of some of the best features of the originals, like, the depth.

  • I don't really like fallout 3 (I have one though) because when you try to move diagonally he keeps walking foward. Also graphics kinda sucks and the whole game seems to be made without detail. And the worst... I get bored so hard...

  • 1) Diagonally includes movement in a Y directions so you will either be moving forwards or backwards.

    2) I'm not going to insult your rig (TV or Computer doesn't matter to me) but the graphics are quite detailed...'kinda sucks' is the opinion you're entitled to.

    3) Boredom avoidance, try randomly map traveling to spots on the map you've visited. Instant battles in most cases

  • Whats that seen where theirs a dude tyed up adn the guy in the power armor shoots him?

  • That was the aftermath of the annex of Canada. Basically the American soldiers slaughtered every Chinese soldier/civilian that stood in their way. And this was BEFORE The Enclave was re-instated.

  • I really enjoyed fallout 3 and I think it has an amazing storyline. I'm amazed that this storyline was from the first game, so long ago. Anyway, what do you not like about fallout 3?

  • E.g.:

    - a low INT score (<4 or <3) does not reduce your communication options;

    - 2 (normal & sneak) instead of 3 (standing, crouching & crawling) * 2 (normal & sneak) positions.

To name just those two ...

  • You're right, but the team itself eventually became Black Isle and later reissues of the game were credited to Black Isle Studious, it's really weird, blame the publishers.

  • Can you upload this in HD? :D

  • this game is really good

where can i found this intro music ? :D

  • "Keeping the Peace in the newly annexed canada" 0:34 ROFL

  • i bought fallout 3 and wanted t osee what the first two were like, so i got the second one too and its totally awesome no matter what the old graphics are :D btw the games really have the best soundtrack ever

  • i just got the 3rd one for christmas and now i wanna play the first 2 lol

  • I recommend that you give them a try. The originals are so much better than the 3rd one.

  • will do. do you know of any places where i can find them without having to pay a fortune?

  • GoG (Good Old Games) has them in their catalog for $6 each, which is very cheap.

Also you posted this earlier, "all 3 of them are really fun. 3 is th ebest though".

I'm not going to comment with how much of a travesty I think Fallout 3 is, but please don't post any such retarded nonsense on my videos anymore, you just outright admitted you never played the the first two, yet before you asserted that the third game is better than the first two you never played.

    Are you high?

  • I have to agree, I mean, Fallout 3 is a good game, but the only real reason its notable for me at least is its storyline, and the quests. I think its setting is the only real attachment it has left to the original games, Fallout 1 and 2 pretty much beat Fallout 3 everywhere in the RPG department, other than accessibility. I think Bethesda basically took inspiration from the SPECIAL and Skill systems from the original games, but butchered them so they have far less effect on actual gameplay.

  • @morag815 I find that hard to believe, Fallout 3 is in my opinion the best game ever.

  • @veakboy Fallout 3 was your first Fallout game wasn't it.

  • What is that song in the beginning? I want to hear the rest of it...

  • It's called "Maybe" by the Ink Spots.

Fallout 3 has a song by the same group called "I don't Want to set the world on Fire".

Fallout 2's song is by Louis Armstrong.

  • Thanks a lot! :)

  • This game looks good as hell, I think I should get it and play it

  • awesome

  • Damn near 10 years after seeing this intro the first time, it still gives me a chill down my spine. In my opinion, the best intro to any videogame in existence.

  • The intro to Fallout 2 was even a bit better. :)

All Fallout intros were inspired by the intro of Mad Max 2 - The road warrior. ;)

You can find that one here on youtube too. ;)

  • I think you may find even more inspiration from the 1950s U.S films about nuclear Fallout. They're really quite fascinating, and based largely around paranoia. It's great.

But I will agree that Fallout 2's intro is probably the most captivating of its day. I have never been blown away quite as well.

The only other game whose intro is on par is Star Control II.

  • @djrerun01 maybe,maybe,maybe,maybe,maybe,maybe.......

  • This is the classic of all classics.

  • This is total Nostalga for me i wish i still had this game.

  • how is it in that whole area only the tv survives and that theres a cable service still up!

  • satalite broadcast (it was 2077)

  • That voice is totally Ron Hellboy Perlman

  • ....Now that was a newsflash.

  • Oh man they knew what songs to put in this game. Good times.

  • Either use Google to find a torrent or just buy the White Label Collection off Amazon.

    Like everyone knows.

  • hey guys sent in my xbox 360 because it broke. looking forward to fallout 3 so i decided to start off at fallout 1 seeing as how i cant play Call of duty 4 or GoW so whats the story behind this? *leave out the spoilers*

  • There's another video in my profile that's the basic introduction of the actual game story. It plays after you create your character.

The actual story gets far more interesting, which is one of the things fans enjoy most, so look forward to something good.

  • hey, i got the game, and im having trouble, i got the water chip, which btw is super hard to discover where to go in the time limit. and now i have to kill some mutant creator, where do i go to find him?

  • If you go to the Boneyard (a town) go find a man named Chuck in a tent, let him give you a tarot card reading and he'll put the Cathedral on your map.

That's where the Master is (the mutant leader).

  • ok, ive already visited the cathedral, without visiting chuck, do i need to see him? and should i just kill everybody at the cathedral? cuz thats wat i did earlier but i didnt save i just reloaded the game cuz idk wtf 2 do. and i was pissed cuz earlier i was turned into a mutant and lost the game from a person in a purple robe and a super mutant so i was like REVENGE MOTHA FUCKA!

  • No, you don't have to see Chuck. There's a ton of ways to get through the Cathedral, the place is pretty tough though.

I did find a nice guide for you thought. I can post links here, but I'll message the link to you if you want (just tell me if you do).

You can also check it out by searching for "Fallout 1 Guide" on Google and clicking the first result.

Just look at the Cathedral section for some tips.

  • Not really. The time limit is generous.

Also, aren't you playing with the newest patch? The time limit was patched out iirc.

  • Yeah, to either five or ten in-game years, I can't remember which.

  • idk cant even remember... so long ago

  • War... War never changes...

    And hopefully Fallout 3 won't.

  • What do you mean by that?

  • I think he means bein awesome.

  • it's not yet black isle i think

  • you are heroes of making Fallout series..

  • black isle we the fans will never forgget you guys and thank you for making this and the baldur's gate series.you trully are gods in our eyes and thank god feragus was able to form obsidian otherwise we could have kissed our asses goodbye from playing new fantastic rpg's.

to bad those pussies bethesda bouth this series and turned it into a first person shooter(motherfuckers!!!!)

  • This song actually got me into old music. after a couple months of looking for this song on the net (this was late 97, when finding MP3s was hard without TPB to help us) I asked my 70 YO grandmother and she had the album this song was on. Talk about awesome. She was a huge fan of the Ink Spots and had all their stuff.

Had a thing for 30s/40s stuff ever since.

  • Great things lead to even better things don't they? Coincidentally, it was my interest in oldies that led me to Fallout, I think I saw a trailer of it somewhere with the Ink Spots playing over it an I immediately recognized the song and was intrigued that a video game was using it.

  • Amazing

  • What's the song at the start called? lol

  • That's "Maybe" by the Ink Spots, in case you still wanted to know.

  • War. War never changes.

  • Greatest!

  • This intro was recorded from the original 1997 box and copy. Considering the amount of revisions developers tend to make with newer releases of their games, I wanted to clarify that (although I'm not sure if they did it with Fallout).
