My gray tabby is about to be 2 years old. and for some reason, she does that to my cloths, so know i have to watch what my cat does. Keep a cat occupied with toys, or your cloths will be toys. BUT... I think some cats knead on cloths, and some don't.

My cat, Tiger, still does that, even when he sleeps and he's about 2 years old now. I just thought that it meant that he was feeling very comfortable. :P

Apparently cats that are taken away from their Mum earlier than 6 weeks are particularly prone to it. They can be trained not to do it pretty easily though.

My last cat was a Tabby called Tiger. She passed after 16-1/2 years.. Tabbies have such brilliant personalities.

I don't think so. He was still cared for with his mom for about 10 weeks until she abandoned them, and kind of left them under my care. Still think it was because she got tired of them, the way she was rejecting them so roughly during the 7th week. She probably wasn't ready to be a mother since she looked awfully young then.

@Sib592 It's a shame the mother abandoned them. I had a slightly stupid moment with my last comment. They can be prone to sertain behaviour if they're taken from their Mum too early, but the kneading thing is, just as you put, down to the cat feeling comfortable and content, which is a very good thing. I've got another Tabby now, Tiger. She's ten months old and is so incredibly cute. :-)
