My Sony dv handycam eventually started chewing my tapes, the last few videos taken were much as yours above. So bought a second hand camera, different sony model as didn't want to lose data . Had Sony vaio computer upgraded to windows 7 only no drivers available for my cameras, despite being Sony & despite not being that old. Would suggest you hand mini dv videos into a shop & get them transferred to cd. At least then you can access them for future projects. Nightmare !!!!

I Was Making A Film At The Time & Could Not Re-shoot All Those Scenes.

I Had No Choice Really.

Today I Have About 70 Tapes For That Camera.

The Footage On Those Tapes Will Never See The Light Of Day

Because I Grew Tired Of Craptastic Sony Products.

I have a sony psp and it is broke now, I also have a sony cybershot camera and it cost for 400bucks all that I know that it is good but in a few mos. there is a prob. on it, the lens are vibrating So I go back to japan were the place I bought it and I waste 100bucks just to fix it! fuck Sony!

Sony should fking go bankrupt. their PS3 piece of sht has more and more problems with each system update. Whats more they refuse to own up to their problems. You need to spend $150 to fix each problem caused by their own firmware updates. Customer service never admits any faults or similar cases.

Just image if Microsoft charges you each time Windows crashes.

Sony, Panasonic, Cannon -- they all SUCK! I wish Nikon started making camcorders. But you know what? Nikon don't make video cameras because they care about their reputation. Until a company like Nikon or Olympus makes a decent video camera, I will a disposanble Samsung or some other chip video cam that is good for memories, not for Titanik-kind of video quality. I have had 10 PS2s and they SUCK ASS!!!!!! They all broke for no reason. One time, I went to visit my grandmother and I brought my 10th PS2 (slim) to her house, I plugged it in, and pushed the button, the light turns green, flashes red, and the thing shuts off. It was only a few weeks old too. I took a look inside, and they used some cheap ass wiring and the switch was broken. Sony Sucks!!!!!!!

we had a SONY TV that broke about 1 month out of its warranty period and SONY didn't want to know (not even a good will gesture) So we now don't use SONY anymore as they just dismiss legitimate life long customers without thought. We now use Toshiba and panasonic equipment and can't fault it or it's customer care/warranty

i feel your pain. i bought a sony dcr-sr42 handycam for like 800 dollars.. and the quality sucks. it has a super low resolution and its very blurry.. it even looks bad if i look at the video clips in windows media player and resize the window so its about as big as youtube. i got ripped off and all i get is shitty quality

I rated this video a 1/5 a couple days ago because I 've had no problem with my sony handy cam for over 2 years. But Rating it a 1/5 must have cursed me because now my firewire port does not work on the camera and i cannot get my footage off. So now I agree with you. This camera is a piece of shit. BTW I just bought a 3600mAh battery pack for it about a week ago and that wasn't cheap!

Man, I feel for you. I have had problems with my Sony Vaio PC. The store told me I could sync it up to the HP Ipaq via blue tooth...WRONG! Sony will talk to another Sony product, but no body elses product. Their tech support blamed HP for the issue. They desire to dominate the world of electronics and are making it difficult on their customers who have other than Sony products. I don't plan to buy any more Sony items again, unless they change their ways.

Mine had moisture problems for a while, and now the viewfinder is disconnected but still worlks with tape on it, I take good care of it (now) and it has proven to be a faithful camera that I have no regrets in buying. Maybe you just got unlucky and that one was a fluke. Well good luck man.

I Always Took EXTREMELY Good Care Of My Camera,Perhaps You Will Have Better Luck, Here's Some Tips: Don't Expose The Camera To Any Type Of Moisture, Don't Change The Tape Unless You Really Have To Because The Tape Deck Is The Part That Breaks Easily.

thats some pretty bad luck....i have 3 sony camcorders and they work great (DCR-DVD305, DCR-HC32, DCR-HC96) I use them for the lanc and AV in. I dont no why that are breaking for you, look at videos i have the camcorders get trashed. Them been in boast that travel 80mph to boats that travel 130mph. Off class 3 rapids with no problem at all. So I dont no why they break for you but sounds like some pretty bad luck.
