DAMN this mountain took me a MONTH to figure you you have to stand on a particular spot to fall into the next area. A FREAKING MONTH of just walking around and fighting monsters! I think I almost quit but this song kept me going nonetheless.
I totaly love Final Fantasy V and feel it's underated. Part V really had a brillant storyline and awesome graphics, music and gameplay. I hold it in regard over part VII.
@flatcapman Well, I also really like V quite a lot.Why do people flat-out worship VII and there are so many fanboys of it? Usually because they have played from VII and forth. But,if someone plays older FFs than VII, ( I have played all of them, from I to XIII),he finds that VII isn't quite as good as most of them. What I want to conclude is that IX,VI,V,IV are better than VII.Well, at least in my opinion
@karagkiozis1821 I agree. Final Fantasy 7 is hugely over rated and 3,5,6 and 4 are my fave ones. Part 3 was brill because it started the job system and had awesome graphices for Nes at the time. The DS version was a stunner but FF4DS was brill as well.
@karagkiozis1821 Yeah, I'm a pretty big fanboy of Final Fantasy, but I'm almost at the point of disliking VII because its distracting people from seeing the other amazing ones out there.
@flatcapman 8s was even better, and 9, while not the best story, was an infinitely better game. 7 was okay, but compared to the rest of the series, has nothing going for it besides being the first 3d game.
@Nazuiko I agree about 8 as I feel its unrated as well but sadly most didnt take to the Junction system despite the fact I handled it easily. I liked 7 but I didnt love it like most did as it wasnt as complex as it should had been and overtook other worthy RPGS at the time like Suikoden and Wild arms. Its always been about how strong the storyline is never a graphic showcase. FF10 went further in that direction with on too many cutscenes apart from a decent storyline.
@karagkiozis1821 V is good because it's light-hearted, funny, and enjoyable. It also has a classic feel to it, and the job system is awesome. But, VI and onward had better storytelling, and VII was the first one to really have a story that wasn't told to you. I love every single final fantasy (Except 8 and 12), but you gotta admit that the earlier ones were usually "King tells you of an evil person. You must save the crystals. Defeat final boss". It's fun, but not a whole lot of plot.
@karagkiozis1821 I must agree here very much. Starting in early 2010, I played through all the FF games in their original versions via emulation (except for II which I might give another try some time). That means I, IIIj, IV (easy+hardtype), V and VI. I also started with VII but somehow I just didn't feel motivated to finish it, it just doesn't appeal to me like the others did. Maybe it's the lack of customization, maybe the artificial length... I just didn't enjoy it as much as the 2D games.
@bla287 Oh, and my favourites are probably III and V because they're so non-linear and very customizable, even though IV, VI and VII have a more "epic" story. It's somehow similar to Zelda: While most people prefer the "epic" OoT, my top games are LttP and MM because they're less linear and more in-depth.

For some reason this song always reminded me of a golf tournament. Like it belonged in a golf game.

@lockgarbin You must have seen Happy Gilmore because when you said that I immediately thought of that movie and agreed.

Now Im speaking my mind so FF7 fanboys SHUT UP. Give me FFV over 7 anyday that ends with a Y. A game doesnt need fancy FMV to tell a story.

The beauty of this song lies in it's simplicity, bring forth a truly calming feeling. Typical Uematsu genius.

@Arcthelad56 Well put part 7 was ok but it wasnt the be all and end all of RPGS. Part V's story was way stronger
