  • Just became aware of this lady from a friend. Love it. Makes me wish there was a female version of Beirut out there in the world. Pandora radio station Ella fitzgerald, say hello to the elegant miss Peggy Lee as you sister station

  • Few women smile as well as Peggy Lee.

  • the book On the Road by Jack Kerouac led me to this song..very nice song..funny but nice.

  • I can't help smiling when I look at her pretty, shining face. Peggy Lee enjoys what she's doing — I dare say, it that rarely happens to contemporary artists.

  • omg!! I can't with the accent! LMao!!

  • taking a break in the afternoon makes total sense. Especially when it's 110 degrees outside.

  • this song is soo racist

  • Wonderful.

    Thank you for sharing.

  • thanks Voxjoxx.. i looked for Edmundo's song but couldn't find it. This one is very good too. thank you for sharing. Fita

  • id fuk her

  • @whowantstogetnaked shut up man, give some respet to the women, -.-'

  • @19king97 I meant she's very sexy to me NOW...obv I can't fuk her. Besides I must have been pretty horny that day lol :$ good call

  • I love this song... when I was a child my Dad would sing it to us because we'd say can I do my chores tomorrow and following him was Mom with a belt and she said "there will be no manana for your chores they need to be done today".... The wonderful memories of loving parents and a great childhood.. No we didn't get spanked but that belt said "I'll spank you if I have too".. ha ha Thank you so much for sharing.

  • @jusstargazin lol my dad used to sing this to me when we complained too. Great song... Edmundo Ros did the best version imo but cant find it anywhere.

  • @VoxJoxx

I'm still looking for Edmundo's and if I find it I'll message you and then I'll post it..

    Fita

  • @thejazzstreet. Hey, thanks for the info.

  • I wonder who is playing the guitar? I suspect it might be Dezi Arnaz, who worked on Peggy's radio show. and also apparently appeared on other Peggy Lee tunes including Similau.

  • @monjoUtube he is dave barbour, first peggy's husband

  • Yeah, I remember the stereotype from childhood, but every Mexican that I've ever worked with has busted butt.

  • Jazz had it's fair share of blonde bombshells, I just love anything and everything Peggy!

    Thanks for sharing this clip.

    Peggy was hot!!!!

  • MAÑÑÑÑANA... MAÑANA!!!!!!!!!!

  • Hey , don't worry, we didn't think you are lazy, this is just a funny song, also , this means you guys know how to enjoy the life-nothing is a big deal, except happyness!!!

  • Where did people get the idea that Mexicans are LAZY? The only reason people take siestas in the middle of the day is because it's really too HOT to work in the early afternoon. Usually people in hot countries resume work at 4, and work till 8pm.

  • @shmuli9 anyone who thinks Mexicans are lazy should visit NYC. If Mexicans were not working there, the city would grind to a halt pretty much straight away.

  • @ozzyinny Indeed... Though Mexico City isn't the best example.. Still, I find it both dismaying and amusing to see women in Mexico scrubbing their front porches with Pinolen, only to have them get "dirty" REALLY fast. Same with all those white clothes and the baby-bath shaped stone "washing machines".

  • You like to vamp eh? Brillant!! She is amazing <3

  • ohmigod she is INCREDIBLE.

  • @paniuroczy i think mexicans sleeping alot ,.not from hard work only,.but from weather reasons,...like warm, dry clima....

  • @sallycangaroo ..what? how is that relevant to my comment?

  • Digan lo que digan, la cancion y Peggy son muy simpaticas. :)

  • don't like it.

  • I like the guitar mixed with the Latin beats.

  • So, when someone mentions 'lazy' and 'Mexican' in the same story that automatically means the Mexicans are lazy? Who exactly is biased here?

Awesome song, can't wait for my sausages to be done.

  • Peggy Lee really knocked this song out. Hey loosen up anybody who thinks this somehow a negative on Mexican people. I could show you 100 songs about white European peolple that could reflect negatives about them. Of course nobody thats it seriously. It's only a song about a dysfunctionable person that is not highly motivated but lovable. It is cute. For the record Mexican people are very hard working and most know that!

  • "ay caramba!" xD Está genial la canción, mola mil.

  • @david5767 you don't know about music, you don't know about life

  • This song was Number One on the charts the day I was born! Gotta love Peggy Lee - she's an icon and very much represents her era in music.

  • poor peggy lee !!!!! to see all this negative bull on here !!!! what a wonderful woman , i love this song , peggy is a GOD THANKS

  • :) manana... ti di di...

  • Lol. It just put a big smile on my face. :P

  • This is a cute song. I don't think it's racist at all. She's just singing about a lazy character...there are lazy characters in all cultures & ethic groups, just as there are hard working & industrious characters! Thanks for sharing this gem with us!

  • Stereotyping, perhaps. Racist, not, as hispanics are caucasian.

  • i begg to differ, she has a history of being so. she seemed to take advantage of the black comunities so this does not suprize me.

  • You are a member of the PC police, correct? Retroactively condemning EVERYONE for EVERYTHING.

  • @eyezpopmusic take advantage of black communities? you mean working with black artists at a time where doing so could have seriously hurt her popularity in many parts of the U.S. yeah she was a real monster...

  • @t00117598 glad you could see it my way :-)

  • awesome video, but i've always found this song pretty fucking racist

  • Man, it's only racist if you say it's racist.

  • lol exactly

  • unbelieveable video - voice and guitar

  • beautiful woman

  • Some people may think this song stereotypes Mexicans, but Peggy sings it so sweetly and without any malice, that I like it a lot. And after all, there are other folks too who like to put things off a bit and take a nap. It's no sin.

  • its just funny how when you personally like sombody you make excuses for them and not see things the way they really are

  • It's also funny how certain people are so biased that they can't get past their hangups to see humor or beauty or some of the other good things in life. (You know, like you, when you called this singer a "chubby faced WHITE girl" under another video?)

  • Thank U

  • MaÑana = Tomorow..

    i love this cancion..

  • im mexican and i love this! her accent is so cute and she looks beautiful! thanks for posting :D

  • LoVe it !!! thanks for posting !!!!!

  • I love this song, and I'm Mexican. The notion of Manana didn't come out of thin air, people. We sleep a lot because we're tired from working hard. Lazy has nothing to do with it, cos we don't need a weendow on such a sunny day!

  • @paddyoski My mom is racist and she lives in New Jersey. I am not racist and live in Texas. If you bring up Mexicans she always says they are lazy. I said mom you have no idea what you are talking about. I told her you go to a Home Depot in Texas and there is a hundred unofficial immigrants so eager for work they would jump into a moving truck to make less than minimum wage.

  • Well, this is hard to reply to. Plus, any answer I could give would be biased because I'm a big fan of the lady. I'll try, though: she doesn't make fun of the whole Mexican culture or people. It's about a lazy girl living in a dysfunctional family -Married with children doesn't degrade the US, does it?-

Did you know Peggy Lee appeared in the Nat King Cole's Show at the risk of loosing listeners in Southern states at a time when an african american could just wipe the floor at the oval office?

  • @bluefandango that does not surprise me....she was a big fan of Nat and a lot of other black artists

  • i love this! great song! love the lyrics and her expressions!

  • i absolutely love this song, despite some mild racial undertones, which are soothed for me only because sweet, kind, lovely peggy is the one performing. she's an angel.

  • I loved this song and enjoyed the "mild racial undertones" - Manana is a way of life and too many Americans are stressed out having to WORK, WORK, WORK.

Not everything has to be addressed and finished TODAY!. Some things are best left until, well...

    Manana

  • Nice memories connected with this song...

  • Holy shit.

  • yeah, manana, it'll be my anthem from now on.

  • you can save youtube vids on realplayer by downloading the version 11 and set properties to record flash files

  • Only the kind open heart of Peggy Lee could get away with this....I love this song

  • Does anyone know if I can download this verson somewhere?

I have this song but here it is a little different. I like this verson better. Does anyone know?

  • fun, fun, fun!

  • Brilliant!

  • Who's the guitarist on this?

  • The guitarist is Dave Barbour the co-composer of the song (w. Peggy Lee). They were married at the time. For more of them together ssearch you tube for "you was right baby"

  • I love this!

    Thanks!
