Who needs reindeer when you've got a Norelco! Rudolph the Norelco shaver...Had a very shiny blades...and if you ever used it...You would get a real close shave...
Wow! I thought I was the only one that remembered this commercial! I always wondered if I would ever see it again. I remember all of us kids (7) sitting on the floor so excited watching Rudolph and seeing this commercial. I still watch Rudolph every year. I miss those simpler times, but have great Christmas' now too.
Me too.. I remember this commercial. They updated it a little over the years but it was the same. Where are the commercials that shape our children's lives? I don't see them o TV. Are they there?
I was just telling someone about this the other day... I remember it from when I was a little girl, maybe 5 or 6 years old. Feeling rather nostalgic today...
I have bot seen the ad before, (but it's cute). It did not play in Canada that I know of..
I do know those shavers WELL, as I'm an ex-tech for these things. We did warranty work for them. I personally own a few of these, and still shave with them daily!
Old Norelco products were Philips (Holland) rebranded for the U.S market.
In Canada we had Philips, and some imported Norelco shavers. Other Norelco items were available here in Canada..(blenders, mixers)
I remember this, and loved this ad. SIMPLE TIMES, OH HOW I miss them. Christmas was magical...I had the best Christmas each year, and I did not know we really did not have a lot of money, but we have a lot of love. Now we have a little more money and still have the love.. Money does not make you happy.
To funny! When my brother and I were little, we would get all exicted when we would see this. It meant it was almost Christmas. We would wait for it every year!
It's marvelous to hear "Merry Christmas" rather than the insane, horrid, politically correct garbage, "Happy Holidays." This commercial, which I remember WELL, was when America was still America. Better days, absolutely.
Please have a Merry Christmas but a terrible New Year and any and all of the other holidays around the same time as the winter solstice, the reason for the season, and all of the holidays around the same time.
@ GuinevereJuliet. Man I can't agree with you more. Did you hear that some schools are teaching all the kids to say "happy winter"? what kind of bullshit is that?. These kids are going to grow up being such pussys when they get out into the real world.
I can't believe this was found. Forget all the cute Snowmen & Elves, this guy was "groovy" when I was a kid. I used to run to the TV everytime I heard the music. Weird kid Huh?

@mmangum4444 Ahh, what's this thread without someone pronouncing this creepy? ** chuckle **
It's still a classic spot - I still find it adorable.

@jimkelly49 Norelco is one of the biggest, if not, The biggest, of shaving products and grooming products for men.

Does anybody know who did the voice over for this? I think he's still doing it today! And his voice has hardly aged.

@GuinevereJuliet - 9/11 would never have happened if we hadn't taken the Christ out of Chris Cringle.

I just wrote that to my friends. Ironic. I wonder if that was a subconcious thing. It was the 1970s you know.
mcgeeless 3 years ago
There was an updated version of this commercial in the '70s.
By the way - why does the "triple header with a cord" shaver only have two heads?
paktype 3 years ago
The audio is faster than the video, re-watch it and you'll notice that there is the triple header rechargable first and then the corded one.
Gunzee 3 years ago
The latest commercial I heard Peter Thomas in was those Burger King "GET ME A WHOPPER!" spots...
fromthesidelines 3 years ago
This is definitely a later version of the commercial (the "even our name..." tag is a dead giveaway; puts it as late as early 80's)

The narrator is Peter Thomas who is now in his 80's. He is still working and can be heard on Forensic files.
