I'm in the same position and I like your optimism but nothing like Knebworth or Oasis will happen for our generation. Downloads and the internet have made music free so no-one really cares anymore, bands no longer carry momentum. Oasis Blur and Verve should be glad they were around then and were able to have as much success as they did, as it probably won't happen again.

As it is our bands and musicians should just hope to have some great gigs now and then.

Well I hope you're right and another Oasis will come along one day...but look at music now, it's becoming a nostalgia factory, still dominated by old bands like Oasis and Blur. Even the new ones mostly just try to copy them (like Kasabian).

Still, it might change in the future. Wait and see.

I don't think the circumstances exist for another Oasis. The world isn't the same, record sales don't work the same way, tours aren't the same... Oasis is the last great huge rock and roll band, and the best one of all time @ that.
