@bearandwoot it's -pretty- unlikely that ACTA will affect those using samples more than current DMCA laws do (generally don't because if you know copyright law then you know how it plays in your favor). that's not to say ACTA isn't garbage, though.

@bearandwoot it's also worth noting that having read the final revision of ACTA, it's simple to apply it on the surface of works that sample copywritten material, but the same get-out copyright law clauses apply (in north america, anyways; things are a bit tougher in most of europe). the first draft of ACTA was much more vague and potentially damaging. oddly enough, i have decent faith that ACTA will not destroy the internet as we know it or something like that.
