Steve is probably late 30s here. I remember seeing him on this tour from Southern Steele when i was in high school. I practically worshiped him for years as a young guitar player. I honestly think he was so much more aggressive a player back then. He has seemed to chill out quite a bit. I dunno what it was but he seemed to spurt to "GODLY" in his 30s and his technical prowess.
@cantabile1972 Steve still hammers, but most of his gigs are with Deep Purple and do not require the level of chops normally needed to play SMB or Dregs stuff. If/when DP stops touring, Steve will no doubt go back to his former level of super-chopdom. Or, he might go back to cutting hay...
