braces don't hurt when your getting them put on, all they're doing is glueing em'. u may feel pressure but it's not unbareable. but honestly it will hurt afterwards your teeth will be really sore for about a week or two, mine were sore for about a month or so, only cuz I don't take pain very well... but eat soft foods and you good! :)

I had my braces for about 20 months. Even 3 years would be worth it! :D Having nice teeth is worth a lot of time, ya can finally smile nicely without being ashamed of your teeth or anything

Tear your food apart with your hands, then eat it. It'll only bring you much pain and grief if you try to bite for the first few days. Good luck! I just got the rest of my top brackets taken off today, and I'm getting my bottom ones out next week! I'm happy!

Pain killers is all I can suggest. And like I've mentioned, you'll have to tear your food with your fingers the first few days; biting into your food wouldn't end well. The transition into braces is the toughest part. All I really have to suggest is to bite the bullet as hard as you can. (Metaphorically speaking). Good luck!
