I just read the negatives comments. F*&^, some people are so stupid. These jeans are great, in fact it would be safe to say these jeans are probably the best kevlar jeans on the market. No doubt about it.
@johncriten I have. No skin lost on the areas protected by the jeans. No real impact resistance of course, but they protect from slide damage very well.
Pt1. My chick bought some of these jeans. I urged her to get leathers but she assured me that these were as good or better. Leathers would actually have been cheaper!! She had a mishap on a wet road at 20mph or just under and the so called 400M (or whatever) draggin jeans holed thru STRAIGHT AWAY on the knee...yes THE KNEE. The bit where they put the extra padding as the knee hits first. She has now had 2 lots of surgery to clean out and sew up the gaping wound that would just not stop bleeding.
Part 2. She slid for no more than 3M. I'm just astounded that this product faired so badly under the circumstances. I've done less damage with jeans on. She bought those jeans in good faith that they would offer a degree of protection in the event of a fall. They offered zip... yes NOTHING. I am not a happy bunny and nor is she. I emailed Draggin jeans and heard guess what? FUCK ALL back. Wankers. They may supply slide or "dragging" capabilities but the initail impact? Nowt!!
@Bikerboythousand Of COURSE they don't provide impact resistance. They're not armoured pants, they're kevlar which provides excellent slide resistance. I half munted my pair by lending them to my mate when I went to Vietnam for a year, and I'm lucky I did cos he lowsided his 650. Saved his legs. Sucks that your gal got hurt, in any case, but I think you expect too much from a pair of draggins. They're slide damage preventers, not impact. Wear armoured shit for that.
@Bikerboythousand I think you should be careful of labelling something like these jeans as "shite" and saying that you'd have as much protection as wearing normal jeans. What kind of injury was sustained? Did she lose all the skin on her legs/hips at the same time? Don't forget how bad injuries can be. Draggins don't prevent impact damage, but they do go a long way to improving the odds on not losing half a kilo of skin off your hips/ass. And we love the skin on our girl's bums, let's face it!
@jigmesam Didnt lose all the skin on her legs as she didnt slide far enough. The only other bit of damage on her was she scuffed a glove. A 15 quid glove that hit the floor pretty much the same that her knee did... and did go into a hole. Anyway.... case closed. Its a long time ago and i ditched her anyway lol. NO MORE REPLIES!
Hornee don't pass the CE level one Drag and burst test. I have actual lab results and Draggin Jeans are the only fashion pant in the world to pass CE Level 1 abrasion and burst test. Draggin Jeans last 1700 feet at 100 KM/HR with a 200 pound person. Hornee jeans can't even pass the 300 Feet mark which is the CE Distance to pass.
They are available in Canada Now!! Don't be fooled by the American made ones not nearly the quality. They are made of 100% Military grade Kevlar. Not Arramid that everyone is calling Kevlar. They stand up trust me!!!
What people do not realize is these are not made for the track nor are they meant for cold weather. They are a summer alternative to wearing a joe rocket mesh pant over another pair of pants or wearing a pair of jeans or shorts. Also, they are officially the only fashion motorcycle pant to pass the CE Level one Abration and burst test in the world. Definetely get more info on the jeans before making the incorrect comment.
have very simular draggin jeans myself. wanted to get psyco jeans, but ended up with these. I guess they are good (from the vid), but wish they had armour insert capability for the knees, because I bet it hurts like hell if you come off and you land on your knees. Even foam would be better than nothing.
I have optional foam inserts for the knee using Velcro to attach to the Kevlar, I not sure how much I'd trust them not to move out of postion in a slide though, mind I only use the Draggins while commuting to work or on extremely hot days any other ride I use my Tiger Angel Leather pants with Tiger Angel Jacket.
I think I would be happy with these for all weathers on average journeys lasting under an hour, because rain would get through in that time.
Then again we probably have different weather over here: in the winter its cool and it rains; in the summer its slightly warmer and it rains. The one constant is it rains lol.
I would say the most important reason for some basic impact protection is that first time you hit the ground. Even a slow off could be nasty knee on tarmac (smack!), as I did once when I came off on U-turn: was wearing cheap bike jeans with foam insert at time though, and didnt feel a thing. I bet if I did same in these draggins, without foam, would hurt. After first impact with ground, wouldnt mind if inserts change position, so long as kevlar doesnt, I think.
yes. they're around. I actually wanted another pair of jeans, but ended up with these, because the store happen to seel thm, and they seemed good for anti-road rash, although there doesnt seem to be any good impact protection in the knees, which would have been nice.
are they comfortable? do they have any options to keep any loose material from the chains and such? i may get 1 or 2 of them the price is high but after the stress i saw its worth it.
actually they are very cumfortable - But they could have put some more thought into them: for one, your right to ask if they keep lose material away from bike parts, as sometimes, because they are a bit lose (like normal trousers) at the bottom of the legs, they do indeed catch slightly on the footpegs (not enough to be a major problem, but worth highlighting!). If you want an amazing pair of trousers for bikes, you might want to go for the pair I wanted: weise Psycho Jean. Im happy'ish as is.
prob with wiese is they seem to have the worst marketing/sales dept in the world and the best technology/price gear, because everytime I read about their gear, it comes out top, but whenever I try to buy it, its non-existent, and their sales/marketing never get back to me - lol.
I'll say one thing, the draggin jeans do have an important quality: they are honestly inconspicous, in that sometimes you have to do everyday stuff, and you cant always look like your about to climb onto a bike.
but, the other day I was wearing them and thinking to myself, if I was up on my bike now, and I went out of control and got thrown off, I would knee punt the ground from seat height (already happened to me with knee armour in U-turn w cheaper trousers ).
I cant see how it wouldnt hurt like hell in these jeans if you impacted the ground without so much as some basic foam that they could so easily have applied to these £125 jeans! They are a great piece of kit, but i have reservations there.
Very comfortable - I've had three pairs over the past six years. Don't wear jockey underwear though, wear boxers or boxer briefs, otherwise they can itch.
They are designed to be worn with the bottom inside your boot, as with ordinary jeans.
I would call these proper motorcycle gear. Maybe not on a track day doing 130+ (need 1 piece leather), but there are plenty of worse motorcycle trousers than these.
What trousers would you consider proper gear? I originally wanted the weise psycho-jeans, but ended up with these. These draggins aren't too good in the cold either. but they do look like ordinary trousers which means you could get away with wearing them as normal trousers instead of getting changed, which is a big plus.
then again, you have to have some basic armour on the legs as a minimum, because if you come off in a simple skid or fall whilst stationary, the drop force on a knee against the floor is going to hurt, which is why I just cant quite understand why they didnt bother to even put some cheap foam padding in? My much cheaper ones did manage that much.
Depends on where you are. They are an Australian company so I've never had problems buying them, but this might not be the case elsewhere. Google their website - "Draggin Jeans"
Have a pair with armour inserts for hot days or work commuting, also have a mate who crashed in them in 2004 at 50mph without any wear through although he did receive a friction burn.
Yes they protected him from serious road rash and yes he got a serious friction burn through the Kevlar padding, but that was from early Mk1 Draggin jeans not sure if they havve improved since.
I learned a few things today.. avoid lanes that merge, keep your distance from the car in front, wear the right clothing.. I was had a pair of Draggin' cargo jeans on.. they saved me needing a skin graft
Just recovering from a minor off with the DR650 on bitumen. While the bike is ok, I cant say the same for my right knee. A pair of these babies are on the way, with the knee protection I might add.. Would have stopped a fair bit of the carnage I think. Good vid.
Supprised at how many people have checked this video out. I should tell draggin jeans how popular it's gotten. Reckon they'll give me a free 2nd pair? hehe I THINK NOT!
where are you from?

Lets see them do that on a normal road and not some smooth as a babies butt drags strip, or better high side around a corner on a normal road.

They are however a great replacement for ordinary jeans (which are useless on a bike).
