"Dealing is a FELONY" Dealing isnt a felony in every state. In Illinois, it only become a felony if you hit 2.5 g- or more, in a SCHOOL ZONE. Also you can get off with casual deliver and if you have less than an O its a misdemeanor.
Im not saying dealing is good, but make sure what you say is accurate.
that is horribly wrong of that boy's father to put his son through anything like that. experimentation IS a natural part of everyday human life, that IS how it has been for thousands of years and that IS how it will stay. we just need to ensure that the truly physically addictive and dangerous chemicals remain controlled.
What you need to do is smoke a big fatty with him and shut the hell up. That won't make him quit it just makes him smarter. Next time he will know not to leave a "paper trail" and keep his mouth shut. All you are doing is teaching him how to hide it better. I bet he went and smoked some as soon as the sign came off.
Obviously the kid's gonna say that drugs are for loosers and all that bullshit. Why would he only further his punishment. 15154154 bucks says this kid does drugs many more times again before his highschool carreer is over. And yes; Alcohol counts as a drug.
If you think your kid has a drug problem, don't make him stand out on the damn sidewalk with a fuckin sign! That shit was rediculous, if I was a mom seein that shit I would have punched him in the damn face.
Hmm...I wonder if he'd do the same if his son was brewing and selling beer (nice legalised drug) furthermore I wonder how clean the Father's record is.
To all of the drug users, people that think drugs should be legal, and P**SY parents. It has been a year since this has happened. Zach(the kid holding the sign) as tested "clean" 18 times. Is a A and B student, and a state champ in wrestling. He still has a bit of temper. Hanging a sign on his neck and a little humilation seem to have worked for now. So get F**Ked up, druggies. And parents, keep saying yes to your kids, then go visit the graveyard or prison in a few years.
Well, well, know-it-all. And what kind of grades did you make? I never did any drugs in highschool and was a C student. When I became a freshman in college I began experimenting with soft drugs like marijuana, shrooms, ecstacy, etc. And a straight A student, amiss all that durg "abuse".
Kidstaxi1 is full of shit folks, and here's why: Before America decided to ban drugs there was a different view on drugs; drugs, used the right way, could actually make you better. ***cont'd***
But when the government makes drugs illegal, then using drugs becomes demonized.
It has nothing to do with facts, or data accumulated. It has everything to do with robots miming what they're told by politicians. "They say drugs are bad, so they must be, but let me take another puff off my legal ciggarette and another sip of my legal liquid drug, alcohol."
Can you morons be any more hypocritical? Read the facts, educate yourself...It's your only tru defense.
I couldnt possibly agree more with jkief123, so many ignorant individuals apparently fall short of realizing the criteria which assigns a substance as a "drug." It infuriates me when people refuse to consider alcohol or tobacco as drugs, ridiculous.
You beat the kid's ass for doin the hillbilly heroin and explain why he just got his ass kicked, but educate him on the true problem with pot: it robs you of your desire to do things. Shit, if the kid can be a productive citizen, and smoke pot, theres nothing wrong with that.
What adult knows the boy better than his dad? The only alternatives that have been suggested are: nothing; corporal punishment; counseling. A few firm licks on the butt, judiciously applied--not a "beating"--and/or counseling are not out of place. The kid lost his mother and the father lost his wife to drugs. How could the father do nothing? There is a parity between authority and responsibility. He ought to be supported in his reasonable judgment.
Yea i got the ole belt and Fisticuffs treatment and I didn't get clean till 6 years ago. I'm 34. But, this would have been heven for me all that attention, the older kids knowing I was doing Drugs Hell Yea-I'd get laid that weekend. Saying Drugs are for losers the whole time.
That father in my opinion is giving the boy the wrong punishment. He'll end up doing it again if he did do it in the first place. You know kids lie to get attention on myspace.
getting beat with a belt or spoon is not worse. standing in front of a traffic wearing a sign like that is not only terribly insensitive, but degrading to the point where this kid won't think twice after he does it a second time.
Humiliating him won't change a thing. MONITORING and mentoring him will. Some parents... Can't they see that if they'd be there in he first place they wou;dn't have to fake it later on?
Someone had their drug-using son wear a sign in public. Good. I would say more parents should do this but then it would be less of a punishment. This is the kind of thing I'd do if i found my son (Once i become a father) doing drugs.
good i wish my grandpa would of done that with my dad because then my dad would still be addicted to pot at 52 years old, its horrible when i come home and see him all high out of his mind.
i dont know you or your family, but I would assume that your dad has a reason for getting high (maybe problems at work). In any case, he should be dealing with his problems instead of forgetting them. Talk to him about the real reason behind him smoking. Perhaps it will help.
suck it up. at least he's not a drunk. don't blame pot for your father's problems which probably run deeper than substance abuse. he probably would have found some other substance to avoid problems with. and btw one can only be MENTALLY addicted to cannabis.
public humilliation hurts the kids self-estime and later on, he will see that when his kids is so insecure. Poor kid, public humilliation is not the solution but communication. Ignorant dad, well at least he didn't call the cops
That that was kinda harsh. I think his dad took it a little too far. But then again...That kid is in freakin middle school...what the hell is he doing dealing drugs in 7th grade. LOL
what a jackass dad . i hope he burns in hell for what he made his son do. kids do drugs, its a part of high school. hes an effing gay lord if he thinks that embarrasing his son is the best way to deal with this situation.
Do to the epidemic of poor parenting that our country is facing we are in serious jeopardy as a nation. Too often parents are either neglecting their responsibilities and taking the easy route of being their kid's "buddy" instead of their parent.
Your response tells me that you are one of two things:
(a) A child who doesn't have the life experiences to have any of your opinions on how to raise a child even valid or (b) A bad parent who doesn't understand that in order to raise a responsible adult you need to discipline your child and hold them accountable for their actions.
Raising a child is the toughest job that anyone can have and it requires one to make difficult decisions. The child in this story was walking the dangerous road of substance abuse and it appears he is only in middle school. I support the father in the story for doing whatever he thinks he needs to do in order to keep his kid off of drugs.
O.M.G.!! is he like okay?!! that's really scary and that must be embarrasing,i mean i know i would be..well i'm really glad he stopped useing and selling drugs..glad he's okay, even though i don't know these people,it doesn't matter, i never like seeing people get hurt..
Drug users have no self esteem that's why they are self destructing. Humiliating a kid will not get his confidence back... Too many adults should not have kids, they are not mentally adequate to raise them..
hell yeah!!! care to adopt about a million kids?? teach the little bastards a lesson. maybee if parents start doing stuff like that more often the world would get a little better. and to all of those saying what he did was horrible well your kids are probally screaming and raising hell right now arent they?
The kids don't abuse the drugs: The drugs don't get hurt. The drug use is harming the abused kids, as it is a symptom. There is a difference Tex! As to humiliating your son: abusing him psychologically. You play mind games, aversion therapy, and the drugs will come back. You are creating a mess and it will get worse. Love? Give me a break!
you sick fuckheads, i feel sorry for the kids of america. that father has gotta be the most retarted asshole to do that to his son, and asif he aint gonna smoke even more dope now to cope with it!
Anyone praising this has no idea what's going on in that kid's head. That child had no choice but to stand there, and most likely did not "take it in stride." He was probably feeling a lot of resentment towards his father. More than anything, he wanted that sign off his neck and to be doing drugs again, to spite him. The fastest way to achieve this is pretending to agree with his dad. How many times have you lied to someone to appease them?
I think the father did an awesome job! I thought it was a great idea for a punishment- I mean, can anyone else think of a better idea that would actually work?? What do you think he was supposed to do? Put him in time out?? Discipline is way too lax in this country these days, and parents are running out of options. Better to get him to quit now than have an addict later. And if I was that kid, that'd sure as hell make me not do it anymore! Way to go Dad! I salute you!
altought that kid mught be a little too young, but how can you argue against the fact that we have the right to put anything in our bodies.......no amount of rhetoric will ver convince me otherwise
way to go Dad, as parents, we need to take control , drugs abuse is not to be taken lightly.better to walk around with this sign now, than to do the time in jail where that boy will suffer a fate worse than mere 'humiliation" I only hope taht the dad gets his son into counseling, this sign should only be the beginning ...

Dad is a moron. Uneducated, sadistic, perverse.

I salute you!

altought that kid mught be a little too young, but how can you argue against the fact that we have the right to put anything in our bodies.......no amount of rhetoric will ver convince me otherwise
adj14 4 years ago
this is just going to make the kid more angry at you and want to do drugs even more to make you angry

way to go Dad, as parents, we need to take control , drugs abuse is not to be taken lightly.better to walk around with this sign now, than to do the time in jail where that boy will suffer a fate worse than mere 'humiliation" I only hope taht the dad gets his son into counseling, this sign should only be the beginning ...
