Fuck, Rampage MUST have broke his hand with those punches he he missed when he was on full mount, those looked nasty, the combination before it though was excellent!
dude randleman couldve been an awesome fighter if only he had somebody besides mark coleman to train him... seriously randleman has eveything he needed to be good i mean look how good he did with just wrestling alone he was just an undeveloped fighter. couldve been something good but didnt get developed right, i think its mark coleman sucking at coaching and randleman paying the price. and Pride beats Ugly Fags Cagefighting any day. pride days were best
@Tracer564 for his time though he was considered a hybrid fighter. he came from a wrestling background, but he began learning how to strike and even became ufc heavyweight champion. after he hit bumps in the road though (losses to rutten and liddell) he never continued evolving.
now we are entering the age where fighters dont come from one discipline. theyre good at everything and it comes down to conditioning and strategy
Since MMA has evolved so much since the early days, how well do you think Royce Gracie would have fared against today's competition? And who do you think would have won this fight Royce Gracie vs Anderson Silva?
@ESSENCEOFEACHTHING royce wouldnt have stood a chance in todays division. royce was considered close to unbeatable for a long time because he knew jiu jitsu and ground fighting when the rest of the world was pretty much clueless. royce IS a legend and his place in mma's history is set in stone. but the game has evolved too much since. not only is anderson silva larger than royce, but royce wouldnt be able to use his GI either. silva would knock him out in under half a round
@ESSENCEOFEACHTHING i meant that literally. unified rules in america dont allow the use of GIs or pants (Aoki). its seen as an unfair advantage to the fighter. in japan they let it slide though. a good example about how royce would fare in the ufc is watching his fight against matt hughes from years ago. matt hughes isnt even considered a complete fighter by todays standards, and he handled royce pretty easily
ok.I was about to use the Hughes fight as an example. But I thought about it and didn't send it.Royce was coming off of a lengthy lay off to fight Hughes correct? That along with age were major factors in that defeat to Hughes.I'm sure that a younger Royce would have been to advanced for Hughes.
i didn't know those two ever fought until today. I was watching a highlight reel and it showed a clip of their fight. I think rampage needs to join with strikeforce and fight Fedor. I can see Fedor retiring soon, but I hope he doesn't.
In Pride can you choke a man while your on top with one hand and strike with the other? Cause that's what just happened in this fight....DAMN!....He got Knocked The F*Ck out too!
Yeah man, the only thing Rashad has better then Randleman is striking. But in my opinion Rashad got outstruck by Chuck and Forrest so his striking is a little over rated, but his knock out power is what saved him. So he will have to stand toe to toe with Rampage. But Rampage can take a punch. Considering Thiago Silva rocked Rashad, if one punch from Rampage touches Rashad. Rashads going out.
Rampage couldn't knock Jardine out man... his power is overrated. He has knockout power obviously but it's not like he's putting you to sleep by just touching you. He's going to have to land flush on Rashad's chin with a power punch to knock him out and that's not going to happen.
I hate making excuses for fighters. But correct me if im wrong. In that fight it was Rampage's first time moving to wolfslayer and for that fight he over trained thats why he didn't look the greatest. As for his power being overrated, his TKO/KO record speaks for itself.
He left Juanito after the Forrest loss. The trilogy fight with Wanderlei was actually his first camp in the UK.
As for Rampage's power, the guy can knock people out with both hands - I realize this. But I don't think he' has Drew McFedries or Robbie Lawler level power. He's only knocked Wanderlei out cold with a punch before. No one else.
That's right. McFedries has no heart and no ground game but he has a ridiculous amount of power. If he landed like Rampage did on Jardine it would've been lights out every time.
4 punches missed wtf? fixed ?

Rampage seems to be getting stiffer in some of his fights since pride but if he was to use the explosiveness he did in this fight good night Rashad.
