No, but thats the responsibility of the voter to make them accountable. Whilst I can't say it happens in Britain, after our recent expenses scandal the cost of government has become a hot topic, one ALL parties want to distract the people from. That doesn't mean we want a small govenment though, it just means we want an efficient govenment.,,Not that we will get it, but at the same time if youve got the smallest govt possible you then have to ask whats the point in one?

I'm from Canada, and I've often said that we should have a similar thing, pay a fee for a doctor visit.......that would get rid of a lot of the hypochondriacs that clog up the system. That would make the lineups a little smaller.
