I grew up in Pittenweem in the 70's and 80's - a mile from Anster (went to the Waid Academy in Aster). That's Pittenweem harbour alright. I used to listen to Beggars Mantle drinking underage when they played in the Queens Hotel in Elie (another East Neuk village and hotel now sadly closed). Like yesterday - wow!
Ye cannae beat the LP tho',it's FANTASITIC stuff, thanks Davey & John, and the Beggars Mante Ceilidh Band too,my favourite tho' is THE KELTY CLIPPIE,the words have me grinning from lug tae lug,and the weans too!!!.Murray frae Perth, but ma faither's family are a' fae Fife.Gaun yersel lads.
what a sight it must have been to see hundreds of Herring smacks with sails set off to Hunt the Bonnie Shoals o' Herring as Ewan MacColl so beautifully wrote in his poetic tour de force song "The shoals of Herring" , he painted with words an awesome picture of what life was like for the Inshore fishermen of the Isles and North Scotland such as my grandfather Ali Uisdean Macangus of Hilton ,long since gone but my hero yet. albainn gu brath.
@pastore0506 Hi George. The first few photos are of Pittenweem harbour. I had a wee look on streetview and there were a few boats but nothing to compare with the old days of course .
A great talent. Sad indeed.

I'm a Moray loon myself, long on a foreign strand now, but once fished off Dunbar, the Bass and the May from AH122 Avail, of blessed memory!

Now that's an area with which I'm familiar! Sadly, it's been many a year since the Forth saw that volume of traffic.
Thanks for posting this video.
