Then settle a class action lawsuit for misleading advertising 1 year later.

Anyway, scanning through the comments of some haters, i feel that most of them are just sad, jealous and petulant kids from MY,IN,VN - the relatively impoverished countries living in the shadow of Singapore's success. Especially the MY and IN kids. Full of vitriolic hate. Go ahead..hate on in your squalid little hut.

  • @dmitrilessy Well I don't see how your country is any better. Or even half as good. Most of the young people can. Just that we don't choose to. It is sad (and funny) when someone foreign goes to a video just to mock the native slang.

  • @dmitrilessy An Indonesian deriding Singapore English! Oh the irony!

  • Actually Singlish is an accent to our community here in Singapore like Chinese talk to Malay or Indians. When we talk to the Americans then we have our original pure English to them. Then they would understand us.Why do we need to learn English?Coz almost every each country is the way we communicate to one another.Singlish is fun when like in PCK drama rite guys?

  • @mywooyoungie oh, so you are having pride in speaking singlish? pathetic.

  • @RetardskillMe i call it unique and yes i'm proud. i don't see what's pathetic about singlish. it's a language that we singaporeans can understand well. have you even heard a conversation between normal singaporeans? this video is filled with more malay phrases and slightly exaggerating.

  • @mywooyoungie its a slang, not a language -.-

  • Seriously not funny.

  • LOL

Low Yi Qian What a character definitely the highlight of the video

  • so ugly

  • funny hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

  • cool iphone also gt que dien 1!

  • Jesus Christ, they made Siri for English and British speaker. Which part don't u understand. I wasted 2 mins of my life

  • Faked thats only a picture

  • and nobody bothers about Siri unable to cope with globalisation. choose to fight among themselves instead.

  • Whats great being a Singaporean we can speak in American n British accent. ^^

  • @AleesyaNafisah97 I am American and I love my new home of Singapore. Singaporeans don't remotely speak with American or British accents at all.

  • @djlowballer Hello There :), welcome to Singapore :) ! Enjoy yr stay ^^. Where are you living ? North , south , east or west? Haha kidding ;) . We could speak those accents is just that we don't bother and rather speaking speak Singlish , our own Mother Tongue mix with English.

  • @AleesyaNafisah97 Oh please, singaporeans dont even speak perfect Mother Tongue. When singaporean chinese go to China or Taiwan, they get laughed at for their freaking 'chinese' and they basically dont understand them. And you think you can change your accent as and when you want? Grow up kid, i bet not even 10% of your local population can do that. Singlish is nothing to be proud of.

  • @AleesyaNafisah97 "Hello There :), welcome to Singapore :) ! Enjoy yr stay ^^. Where are you living ? North , south , east or west? Haha kidding" ----Singapore version>>>>>> "hallo, De-uh :), welcome DO singaBore. Nof (or 'Nod'), Sof (or 'Sod'), ea or weh ?

  • If Singaporeans speak atrocious English why do so many come here to study? Ok, thanks haters for your comments. We will continue to study English while you just shut your mouths and stop hating because haters have ugly hearts.

  • Whatttts the problem with people laughing at

the way singaporeans speak? LOL don't go stereotyping just because this video obviously exaggerates the singlish just for entertainment purposes. Let's be honest here. Most singaporeans are bilingual. Tsk. Childish people looking for videos that has to do singlish just to hate on us singaporeans. Get a life people. 浪费我时间

  • @jongkeytaeyul

i'm singaporean and am on singlish videos for my own entertainment. not just bilingual, some also know dialects and bits of other languages here and there, which constitutes the words in singlish

  • siri. i want to go bitaaiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii how to go?

  • You deserve my dislike. :)

  • Answer : No but will it blend?

  • recorded with a potato.

  • This is a very stupid video

  • that Siri is fake :/

  • Nothing gets on my nerves more than hearing "Singlish". :/

  • btw, for epic ownage, turn on the CC function.

  • actually you can simply type your command. that works too.

  • Even a properly educated person would have trouble.

we have accents in our voices.

  • Comment removed

  • Why are you hating on Singaporeans? LOL. People from other country talk to me, they think I'm not a Singaporean. LOL. Not all Singaporeans use Singlish. Actually, a lot of Singaporeans who speak Singlish are EXTREMELY good in English. If you still hate, thank you for wasting your time showing hate.

  • To singapore: use english pronounce properly, don't too fast, don't too hasty, you're a modern country but your english pronounce so bad, when i was interviewed by singapore people, it's really hard to understand, think about that

  • @hanscool26 Your grammar is atrocious.

  • Comment removed

  • @JanMfa EXACTLY!

  • @JanMfa "can't even", not "even can't". see, i can be picky as well!!! sh*t the f*cking up singaporean!!!!!!!!!

  • @iciwjidojfe YOU ARE SO PATHETIC! DONT U HV ANY OTHER THING TO DO?!

  • @JanMfa no, i don't have a real life

  • Comment removed

  • @JanMfa I meant you.LOL.

  • @TrentTYY LOL nvm i will just remove my post this argument is so stupid =.= and i dont know how the youtube works @@ LOL

  • @JanMfa i actually feel bad about my manner. it's just.... you two are just WAY TOO mean and pathetic.

  • Comment removed

  • @JanMfa yes, 'pathetic' is the best word

  • Comment removed

  • i think siri couldnt reply correctly because that guy in the video is not saying pure english -.- in some way i pity that siri because she had to think alot because of the confusing commands

  • Kindly understand the world doesn't recognize "Singlish" as a language so yeah stop being so proud of it, and learn proper English dudes, though I think it's not possible because even your Mr Prime Minister can't speak English. That's a sad thing

  • @RicksHutchison um yea he can -_-

  • @RicksHutchison I know Singlish is not a recognised language , SO WHAT? Recognise is spelt with an S is you want to do it properly. Oh right you're American so you are excused from writing it with proper british spelling. Learn proper English? I'm Singaporean and I have no problem speaking proper English. Our Prime Minister CAN speak English,Mandarin,Malay and a little Russian. How many languages can Obama speak? Oh that's right one. I've nothing against the US. Love it actually.

  • @TrentTYY omg you must have scaned through every single letter of his comments. LOLOLOLOL. such a typical singaporean. what's next? can you be picky with my "LOLOLOLOL"? oh right, it should be "LOL"

  • @iciwjidojfe Me? Scan through every single letter of his comments? This is a comment section not a review section. Were you next to me when I wrote this? NO. I'm barely even being picky. If he can bitch about Singlish , why can't I stand my ground?

  • @TrentTYY yes, with a magnifier, probably.

  • @iciwjidojfe You have your opinion , I have the truth. He claims that WE Singaporeans cannot speak proper English. What right does he have to accuse us if he doesn't write in proper english.I accept the fact that alot of us can't speak English very well , but that's plain stereotyping.

  • @TrentTYY yes, you have the truth and you need to argue with the truth. picky about the typo? wow, seriously? bro? this is classless. nice try tho.

  • @232cie May I know which typo youa referring to?

  • @TrentTYY i didn't read his comment (and i m not interested at all). but you are picky with his typo. not cool.

  • @232cie Yup exactly which typo ?

  • @TrentTYY oh well, my fault. didn't read through your whole comment. :( sorry

  • @232cie All cool :)

  • @TrentTYY that's a typo bro. this one is classless

  • @232cie ?

  • @RicksHutchison But since you want to hurl accusations about my country , I have to stand my ground :) . I'll admit that almost half of us can't use proper English , but we have our right to speak Singlish without people coming and hating on us.

  • @TrentTYY Huh? He can speak? that's cute :3 I didn't know that he speaks English, all I know is when he came to US we all laughed at his Singlish. You've got a thing against obama? At least he speaks the country's language well. Your dear Prime Minister can't even speak proper English with the right pronunciation and accent and you're talking about him learning 4 languages? That's hilarious. Trying to run when you can't even walk.

  • @RicksHutchison He CAN speak English.English is only 1/4 of Singapore's official language get your facts right. WTF? You and your Elitism. Who set the rule that everyone has to speak with an American or British accent? I can speak with an Indian accent for all I care and it will still be English.

  • @TrentTYY about the accent thing, there is a difference between "accents of english" and "NOT SPEAKING ENGLISH AT ALL" or "that kinda 'english' that NO BODY CAN UNDERSTAND". just stop defending and go back to learn some ABC, ok bro?

  • @ihateumiss If I can speak , I can write.Writing and speaking uses the same principles of English. You need sentence structure for writing , you need sentence structure for speaking. The same thought process goes through my mind. Except for the fact that one is sound and the other is on a medium , there is no difference at all. SINGLISH is heavily slanged. You guys say shawty , do I go and hate because it's not "PROPER" English? NO! I'll choose what and how I want to speak.

  • @TrentTYY lol. typical singaporean response. he is right, why don't you just go home and learn some abc? but i don't think singlish is crap tho. i respect every culture. however, defending like this just make you guys more pathetic and funny. just accept the fact and learn some english.

  • @TrentTYY speaking i mean. i am not saying your writing.

  • @TrentTYY "Can you borrow me one pencil" " I wanna the Xbox game, it more better" "Drink want don't want". "laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa" . These all come out of the staff of an organization I volunteer with. Singlish is fine and all, but it isn't "proper" anything. Its a creole of a bunch of languages because many singaporeans don't speak english at home.

  • @djlowballer Finally someone who makes sense.

  • @RicksHutchison There are lots of keyboard warriors in Singapore who can talk the talk but not walk the walk. There is no point talking to people like him since he cannot accept opinions. Frankly, I'm embarrassed with "Singlish", and I try to avoid using it as much as I can. Most of us have problems enunciating and pronouncing simple words to the extend what even I, a Singaporean, have trouble understanding sometimes. It can't be helped, Singaporean English teachers use "Singlish" to teach.

  • Comment removed

  • @TrentTYY By the way American and British spelling's different, and that's nothin wrong becuz it's fuckin recognized by the world, and not some stupid Singlish shit. So don't tell me I'm wrong spelling in American English. Seriously your stand is nothing, you don't have anything to say to me because you yourself don't even know how to speak. And yeah, I can say I'm a fuckin billionaire on Youtube too, yeah? speak proper English? you sure? Or is it just a failed version of English, aka Singlish

  • @RicksHutchison How in the blue hell am I even having this conversation with you if I am unable to speak English?

  • @TrentTYY we are talking about the speaking, not writing. of course singaporean can write pretty nice and pretend to be good at english. but when you guys speak, it's like crap comes out of your mouth. don't take this personal, you are just too stupid to make any sense. invalid argument, period.

  • @ihateumiss Most of Singaporeans are bilingual or trilingual. And we use both/all three quite evenly. Well you have your perspective of crap. Just something we grew up with. We understand one another here. That's all that matters.

  • @TrentTYY i didn't mean to hurt you. just an expression. sorry

  • Singlish is not a language, to all those stupid singaporeans out there being so proud of your "language" Yeah I've got a big problem against shits like you who thinks Malaysia and China are low class. I'd like to say my Chinese friends speak much better English than Singapore Chinese. And by the way you guys originated from Malaysia and China, I mean, where do all the chinese and malaysians come from? And you're not gon ask me go back to my country cuz I'm in the US and I don't need to.dumbshits

  • I'm from singapore,You mad?

  • muka lah dah nampak mabuk don't have to condemn the phone.... mine works fine hahahaha

  • HAHAHAHA....HAHAHAHAHHA FACEPALM!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA

  • @ObeyChimp

    Totally Agree :D

  • People stop judging already, lah! Ever heard of acculturation? "Acculturation often results in changes to culture, customs, and social institutions." It is still English but with a tinge of uniqueness found only in our own respective countries and cultures. The fact that you guys can argue here already proves that you guys understand each other enough to reply, lol! ^^ I use "Lah" a lot of times.

  • @snowbunniesx Alrighto :D

  • Comment removed

  • Singapore has their own language, Singlish. Got a problem with it? Go back to your own country if you have a problem with it.

  • @compocombo Ignore those tards :D

  • languages are meant for communication >.> why are you guys thinking so much into it. see, you people are from different places but you can all understand and argue with each other. since you dudes can converse, does it really bother you people whether malaysia, singapore, us or anywhere speaks better english? what's important, just watch the video and laugh. really need to argue, get a chat room or something.

  • @ObeyChimp so don't fuckin tell people to go back to their country. Retard. What's wrong with being a Chinese, or Malaysian? Do we even laugh at you just because you're Singaporean? No we laugh at you for being dumb and care so much

bout shit, and your little Singlish. So don't be a fuckin retards becuz as far as I know you Chinese in Singapore originated from China, and the Malays are from Malaysia, so yea you're just being fuckin retarded askin people outa your country n still, so proud of it

  • I went to China for awhile, no one despised me because of my nationality, and there are a lot of people who can speak real good English. And I have Chinese friends too, perfect English while mastering their Chinese. And if we're all like you then my Chinese friends are so gon' suffer living in the US dumb shit

  • @ObeyChimp The world laughs at your country's stupid invention - Singlish. It's not your fault, it's your ancestors who didn't let the British continue teaching in your country, and then they create their own version of English - Singlish. It's cute that you're so proud of it instead of trying to learn English. Who makes grammar mistakes? Singaporeans.

  • @ObeyChimp I don't fuckin get ya'll Singaporean shits. Of course not all Singaporeans are shits but guys like you are a fucking disgrace to your country. Why are you so fuckin minded about nationality? Well if that's the case does that mean if you come to USA we get to fuckin kick you ass and ask you to get the fuck out of our country? No, we don't do that. We make international friends, brazilians, british, and yes, even chinese. So don't be a fuckin racist bitch.

  • @RicksHutchison Chill man. Singapore is really diverse and we have no problem with it unless foreigners have a problem with us. o.O I have friends from many different countries and we have no problem getting along. Btw, Singlish isn't broken English; it's English spoken like it's directly translated from Chinese, with Malay and Tamil influences. I'm not saying it's good English (cause it's definitely not), but there's no need to keep "f***"-ing away in every comment... -.-

  • as a Singaporean, i need to clarify smth. British English and British accent are two different things. Singaporeans of course don't have a British accent and we may have grammatical errors but who doesn't?! And we say that we use British English because we follow their spellings and grammar (e.g. We use 'tyre' instead of 'tire') and when we speak, we sometimes include a few Chinese, Malay or Tamil phrases here and there which is why anyone not Chinese, Malay or Indian may not understand.

  • @mywooyoungie singaporean tend to persuade others that ppl don't understand them is because of their "special phrases". actually, NO! even if you guys speak english with no grammatical mistakes, nobody can still understand u. IT'S ABOUT HOW YOU PRONOUNCE IT. try this one, "don't talk to me like that'-> 'don do do me lahy de". and you guys refuse to admit it because "special phrases" can be avoid by "educated" singaporean, but the retarded pronunciation is hard to change.

  • @mywooyoungie here is another point. if you guys admit that the main problem is the pronunciation, not the grammar, it would mean that singaporean can't speak proper english even through education. this would make singaporean's favorite sentence "educated singaporean can switch between singlish and proper english" a JOKE.

  • @ukduck999 u r right. singaporean will never admit that they pronounce like a retard. i still remember a freshmen in NTU asked me "where is de LD do?" ("where is the LT TWO") their grammar is actually better than students from China, because at least they are sort of "english speaking lol". but Chinese students speak much clearer. (at least siri can understand of most of the time, although i make many grammatical mistakes. but siri can only understand "hi" from local friends next door.

  • @mywooyoungie by the way, it is a joke. even the professors and students from the universities can't speak proper english. that's why you guys don't wanna admit it.

  • @ObeyChimp one of the top comment is making fun of malaysia (by singaporean probably), and the other is saying that singaporean don't like to compare english with ppl in non-english countries. this is classic, isn't it? lol

  • @2itaddict exactly! u can see the two characteristics blended perfectly into every singaporean's brain. well, not every, most of them maybe

  • hah ha...singlish'
