One of the best hardcore bands I've ever heard, very strong, meaningful lyrics, sxe or not.

@orbitbrazil22 I agree with the killerbees1, Gorilla Biscuits is sick. Some good new Hardcore bands that are some of my favorites are Comeback Kid and This Is Hell. They have an awesome hardcore punk feel to them, but have some metal veins in them as well. Another excellent hardcore punk band that really brings back the 80's scene is The Casualties. They are one of my favorites as well.

This song is basically sums up my pa, not word for word but like the concept of the song, he is full of integrity, and love for his children, he is a listener, a problem solver, and a friend/mentor to his children , he has shown me that the only man a girl can depend on is her daddy.<3

this song isn't even about straightedge and of course there has to be an ongoing argument over it. i'm willing to bet that every straightedge person in the world has some sort of coping mechanism that they have practically turned into a drug. eating, video games, exercise, gossip, youtube fights, etc.; everything in life can be turned into an addiction so if you really were truly straightedge then you'd be dead because every living person has an addiction whether they admit it or not.

@orbitbrazil22 Listen to Ceremony and Bane, but if you wanna start from the very beginning, listen to early bands like Bad Brains and Minor Threat. Then progress to some Youth Crew like Gorilla Biscuits and Bold.

@orbitbrazil22 I agree with the killerbees1, Gorilla Biscuits is sick. Some good new Hardcore bands that are some of my favorites are Comeback Kid and This Is Hell. They have an awesome hardcore punk feel to them, but have some metal veins in them as well. Another excellent hardcore punk band that really brings back the 80's scene is The Casualties. They are one of my favorites as well.

i love straight edge hardcore. im not necessarily straght edge tho. i still eat meat and have sex, but i love what the scene represents, its a positive outward goal. i just hate seeing violence towards people who dont believ the exact same thing. one of my fiends got hi in the face with a cue ball off a pool table cause he was smoking a cigarette by straight edge kids... i ust think thats fucked up.

Even though Pat wrote this about his father, i feel exactly the same way about both my mother and father, and relate these exact lyrics to both of them. This song will never cease to mean more than a lot to me.
I'm no edge, but anyone can listen to and appreciate this song. Because at the end of the day, so so so many people have someone in their life that they look up to, someone they respect to an unspeakable degree.

You can't just point to the bad in drugs and alcohol and generalize it as a terrible thing. Some drugs are used to help people. And even if abused, that person has a problem. While they are blowing their ass off, and listen to alot of deathcore.
I have to admit. I used to listen to alot of deathcore to, but. I found out that. Hardcore is more of the music genre for me. And. Also, I've been straight edge all the way. Just because I'm close to persons who got fucked up by Alcohol.

Both Punk and Metal are fucking good. Hardcore, Melodic Hardcore, Street Punk, Oi!, Ska-Punk, Folk, it's all good.
As for metal: Black Metal, Death Metal, Grindcore, New Wave of British Metal, Technical Death Metal, a lot of metal music is good. I hate it when close minded punks don't give metal a listen and just make fun of its stereotypes. I will not respect metalheads unless they know a thing about punk and vice versa.
