I think this version touches the Mandarin speakers more while Cantonese speakers will prefer the other version simply because people relate to songs in their own language better. Personally, I favour the Cantonese version as it touches me in a very profound way and I got choked up every time listening to it. This version is nice but it doesn't have the same impact to me. I guess Jacky will
feel the song more when he sings in Cantonese too.

Professionally speaking... The same melody pronounced in different sounds of different languages sound VERY much different.
If u listen carefully hope u'll realize all his songs sound better in mandarin... and his beautiful voice is only then, fully expressed and delivered in mandarin as opposed to cantonese.
i decided to give this version a go after reading you guy's comments, and must say, i am surprised that i actually dun mind this version! guess the melody and arrangement itself is already good. the mandarin lyrics actually give it a different feeling! cool!
It is previously copyright in HK entitled "怎麼捨得你"
詞:潘源良 曲:黃國倫

wrong....... He's the god of songs and he's good in both. The most memorable ones was the cantonese ones by the way.

I love this song, but I'm used to the Cantonese version. But I like this version very much.
