Yeah, he went through the traps at around 145 mph. He shut off the engine as he crossed the traps and went to hit the brakes. The brake pedal rod slid out of the master cylinder when he launched and so there was nothing there when he went to hit the brakes. He thought about pulling the chute, but then thought he was too close to the gaurd rail and it would get caught. Then he tried to refire the engine so that he could put it in low gear and use the engine to slow down. It didn't fire back up...

Winkle would be able to give better answers than me. I'm sure he was in the air quite a ways. I believe the brake pedal rod came out of the master cylinder. I don't have any idea how fast he was going.
