Somehow, i think the ohta faction would sound more convincing in their original voices. The english dub lacks the conviction of their dedication somehow, especially for the challenger lol... Japanese can be an emphatic language. But Morimoto can hold his own against those guys, I'm sure.

This episode is classic Morimoto. If I were to make a top 10 list of Morimoto battles, this would be somewhere on the top. He came out with guns blazing on this one. The Challenger was basing his recipes strictly on on old Japanese tradition which is basically a big no no on this show..It's all about being innovative with your recipes. Most wins are resulted because of that. Morimoto seemed very eager to challenge Kumamoto's purest outlook on Japanese cuisine with his "around the world" dishes.

The Dreaded... wait for it... dun dun dun dunnnnnn...American Iron Chef America and it looks like I was wrong; If memory serves me right Sakai made the trout ice cream during "Battle of the Masters" Flay Vs. Sakai. Chen was also supposed to make an appearance during that segment but had scheduling conflicts that prevented him.
