  • 5:10 he trys to go all edgar winter on it

  • what is the intro song?

  • are you Jack Black?

  • The ending redeemed it.

  • i bought one new in 2003 and it's still running like a champ. he didn't do it, but the pickup combinations give a range of sweet tone options.

  • Comment removed

  • This is like the opposite of a Jag-stang. The Jag-Stang had a kind-of Jaguar body but sounded mostly like a mustang. And this one has the body of a mustang and sounds like a Jaguar. O.o I'm so smart guys :D

  • holy shit, am i the only one who think this sounds incredible?

  • rockin out in the attic

  • thanks for actually showing what it sounds like when you abuse the thing, it's a very important part of my sound.

  • 5:15 that guitar is crying for help there...

  • rock out fat boy

  • sounds like it has zero sustain... concerned...

  • "It's like somebody else's guitar, but I know it's mine."

Uh, dude, be honest. Did you steal that guitar?

  • Just picked up one NEW at the local Ma and Pa music shop this weekend for $440 ... last place I would have expected to find one ... much less in NEW under warranty (But them again, they were the only store in Cleveland that had the Vai acrylic LED JEM20TH guitar) great tones! The painted white racing stripe over candy apple red really make this guitar. Still getting used to the slide switches. I was after a red Fender Competition Mustang so this is a keeper. Great demo .... thanks! :>)

  • just think if the camera hadnt of been shaking, you would of looked like a dick :L LMAO

    great vid ;)

  • It's like a jag-caster or something.

  • Are you using the valve junior in this?

  • コンペライン無し版があったら光の速度で飛びつく

    ラインありのでもいいから買っちゃおうかな~

  • これ、出たとき欲しかったんだよな〜

    今、どこにも売ってないんだよ。

  • @ziggystardust414

    bullshit!

  • now is this the kind of guitar Thurston Moore used when Sonic Youth played Drunken Butterfly on Jools Holland or is that just a modified mustang?

  • @yamon98 that was a modified mustang with strat pickupsbut im sure fender had that guitar in mine when they made this its for that type of player indeed.

  • idk about you other folks but strats are too generic, fender cyclones are better. ive played one i prefer a cyclone or a jaguar over a strat anytime, there just so hard to find, sadly this review sucks

  • i want more of those movies

  • jesus christ this video is fucking terrible

  • It sucks that fender only care about care about making Telecasters and Stratocasters, Even Jazzmasters and Jaguars are rare.

  • :L:L:L:L, this guy is sooo coool... :L

  • "It's like someone else's guitar...BUT I KNOW IT'S MINE"

  • beaucoup de mimiques qui ne servent à rien.....et un jeu tres pauvre. dommage

  • RIFFZ!

  • i'm so so sad i didn't buyed this guitar when it was still in shops... now it's hard to find it... it really RAWKS!!!!!!

  • Kurt Cobain at the End XD

  • What about the pickup combinations?

  • "ladies love the competition stripe........I know" great line.

  • haha i enjoyed the cobain style destruction ending!

  • no pickup combinations?! :s

  • does anyone agree that that video was somewhat jack black-esque?

  • shoulda tuned it up first

  • you are a crazy mother fucker!

  • Go shortscale!!

  • i have a blue japanese competition mustang reissue thats rocks, but damn these look really cool. I my have to get one.

  • Fantastic! no stoopid noodley noodley, I want to hear what the chords sound like in different switch positions, not how many notes I can fit in a micro second, good demo & I like the head thrust, it shows passion, not look how clever I am!! Still prefer my Jag though!

  • @gasty34: after playing both, i'd highly recommend this one. i used to be a die-hard fender fan, and stocked up accordingly, and this was always one of my best-playing ones. the individual switching allows for all kinds of tones, and if you dial off the tone it sounds more like a blend control. only fender guitar i've ever been able to pull off making "angel of death" by slayer sound correct on amazingly!

  • 4:49

  • lol Don't ya have to love guys like this with all the theatrical head thrusting?

  • Tone-wise, what's the difference between the 24.75 inch scale and the 24 inch scale on this guitar Vs. the Jaguar? I can't tell if it really makes a huge difference or not.

  • dude i bought one of those in a pawn shop for 200 bucks and god is it sweet. I like it more than my strat

  • ladies love the competition stripe, haha.

so, opposed to a Mustang, would you suggest a Cyclone II?

  • Dude you don't get into your music enough. ;)

I used to own one of these back in 2004. Sweet and unique guitar but it had a few hangups.

    1. Wouldn't stay in tune.

    2. The pickup switch is too close to the strings and I'd keep accidently turning off pickups (reversing the wiring resolved this)

I wish I had discovered vintage locking tuners before I got it or I would have likely kept it.

You should have done a demo with heavy reverb to show off the great surf sounds you can get from the C²

  • GIVE ME YOUR GUITAR NOW!

  • I can't believe he didn't demo and the the multi-pickup combinations or play any ringing arpeggios or combination single string/chord work.

  • mustang shape - but with different bridge, one extra pickup and jaguar switches

  • jaguar-LIKE switches

  • Yes, Mustang shape BUT the body is thicker than a Mustang body.

  • So i might get a duo sonic then lol thanks for helping me.

  • its nice to see someone not worried about their fuckin chops and all that... great review! first i've seen on 'tube that showcased a guitar's abilities with feedback and noise control... cool shite man!

  • kind of a strange bloke

  • single coils are best with distortion

  • i have this guitar,see my video !

  • lol you are a really fun guy. but sweetie, i couldn't hear you talking part of the time. :)

  • sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet

  • god, i'd kill to have one of those.

  • I have a Cyclone II. And man i love it!

  • By the way, everyone, I am building a guitar much like this one with parallel/series switching and Kinman pickups. It will have a 25" scale length and a Wilkinson VSVG tremolo. Beautiful maple neck. Nitro finish with ash figure showing through. It's going to rock.

  • I'm not gonna lie. You are a strange dude. But nice guitar. Keep it up.

  • FLIPAOOOOO

  • man you crack me up - i hope olivia munn licks your guitar - seriously - you rock - peace

  • man - tanx fo playin the same thing throughout the demo - mostfolkes just jam - good teachin - thanks again - a model for instuctional vids -peace

  • Hey can someone tell me where i can buy these? PLEASE? i dont care what kind, just ANY cyclone. ive been dying to get one.

  • they where discontinued

    you cant buy it new

used maybe, i´ve spend many time in searching for it but now i have one

    good luck.

  • ebay or craigslist.

  • dude jack black the second

  • 5:01 - 5:35 sounded like a great sonic youth record!

  • LMFAO the beggining. u can hit ur shit lol. this guys hilarious. i like that neck clean imagine that with a slight amount of drive oh man. the bridge breaks up very nicely. lol the end reminded me of spinal tap lol

  • haha

    this guy rocks!

  • yeahhh shred that shit upppp. 5:16

  • fantastic guitar, colour, everything.... yeah, I love short scale bass and guitar! Cheers, Actooon

  • Hi, are all Cyclone II Made in Mexico?

Thought you'd be the guy to know

  • I think you are correct!

  • tu hai le crisi????

  • WUT

  • yeah... cool

  • I so wanna get one!:( I don't particularly like jag pickups(but it still sounded wicked with fuzz, especially the middle pick up) so i would probably mod it with some other types.seymour duncan quarter pounder or some kinda humbucking rails (not a hot rails cos they're so much louder).anyone know what that should sound like?

  • jack black impersonater

  • youtube shittalker impersonator

  • I get that a lot, BECAUSE I'M FAT. :(

  • lol

  • i miss my old cyclone, i had the daphne blue one. sold it for cheap though because the pickups just don't have the fat tone i love

  • I love this guy. Hahaha And yea the cyclone II is friggin sick. Wish i could've gotten one when i had the chance. Oh well... perhaps someday i'll come across one used :P

  • i love my cyclone 2!

  • YOU are UNIQUE, not the guitar.

    loved your vid, hugz~

  • those are some nice random noises at the end. =D

  • What kind of fuzz were you using?

  • I think it was a BOSS FZ-2

  • I'm waiting for a Cyclone II in red...I think this is a great guitar...anyway I will try it asap!!!

  • do u sale this guitar bro? i wan it!! :(

  • lol i like the hendrix-esque stuff at the end :-)

  • is the cyclone II really that much better than the first one?

  • well the cyclone 2 has the jaguar p-up's and the cyclone 1 has a humbucker and a single coil, i've never played the 2, but the cyclone 1 i didnt think was that great, but i also play metal, so it might just not be my style

  • In my opinion the cyclone II is very versatile and different to the cy1, I can surely say its better (for me)

  • i want that guitar is awesome!!! i like the cyclone

  • I love the video, I love the guitar.

I want to start a band with you and rock out.

  • At the start of the video you reminded me of Jack Black.

  • lol

    same with me xD

  • dude, WHY did fender discontinue these???

  • Fender is too busy making new versions of Stratocasters to worry about all this cool guitar nonsense.

  • @sloanstewart and newer versions of telecasters too which isn't all bad but i wish they would make more stuff like this

  • @sloanstewart

These dont sound as good as strats or teles and short scale is rubbish for people who arent short and small handed.

Sure they look cool and different, if that's your concern, but strats and teles are better guitars.

  • @elitemathlete My Cyclone I sounds awesome with a Lace Red/Silver dullay in the bridge and a Blue in the neck. Also I use short scale and I'm 5' 11" and my hands are big enough that your mom screams every time they're in her.

  • @Merkin9to5

whatever you tiny dicked freak of nature.

  • @elitemathlete Yeah I have a neddle dick, but I fuck like a sewing machine

  • @Merkin9to5

I never said anything about no needle dicks. Can we change the subject from your short scale penis short scale guitar boy?

    kthx

  • @elitemathlete

Typical elitist rubbish that comes up in every guitar conversation. There's diehard Fender and Gibson users who get more caught up in the idea of what country a guitar is made in, what parts it's made of, and they forget that music is about sound. If a guitar SOUNDS good, then who gives a shit where or what it's made of? By the way, modern US made Fenders are pretty damn shitty, and you can tell just by playing one.

  • @LunarFeet

Who the fuck are you to call me elitist? You're nothing. You hear me bub? Most people on here are a bunch of bums anyways.

Only dumbtards play the Fender toy guitars.

  • @elitemathlete

You're an elitiest turd. A guitar is a guitar. If the player is any good, it doesn't matter where or what it's made of. There's tons of guys like you online and in real life that go on about how great some cuts of wood are, how terrible chinese made guitars are etc, and for the most part, guys who care that much about parts can't play worth shit.

Most people on here are a bunch of bums huh? Then why are you here? Bum.

And why are you so angry, is your life that shitty?

  • @LunarFeet

Shortscale guitars are toys for ignorant posers, everyone knows that. Im not as angry and worked up as you and I genuinely care for you in this time of deep stress for you.

  • @elitemathlete

Yes, because the brand and scale of guitar one plays determines their intellect (sarcasm). Your distaste for an instrument soley for it's scale length shows that you're an ignorant tool, something you claim so many others to be. Suck it hard elitiest schmuck.

  • @LunarFeet Don't bother - he's a troll, and a pretty terrible one at that.

  • but thats great! I have one and in the future it will cost a lot because they are going to throw some stupid reissue like the tele custom

  • but I don't have one, so that's not great.

  • now i wish i bought the used one at guitar center for 400

  • Sweet dude :D

  • Hey man, you`re funny! Nice video. You got the right soul in guitarplaying! Me too! Brothers in twang!

  • is that a blue voodoo head that its going through?

  • yas!

  • You totally reminded me of Jack Black...but in a good way,no offense...and your little jam was kick ass.

  • best end jam of the century

  • Lmao "its like somone elses guitar but its mine"

  • I have the original Cyclone, the one with an atomic humbucker in the bridge and a single coil in the neck. It's also a pretty sweet guitar, though I want a Cyclone ii for the Jaguar pickups. If anyone has a chance to get either model Cyclone for a decent price, jump on it. They're massively underrated guitars.

  • this guitar is going to be a cult guitar in a couple of years like the katana

  • Something very appealing about your sound and vibe. What were you running that guitar through? Is that a BOSS recorder I see? I'd love to hear more about your other gear too. Thanks.

  • "it feels like someone else's guitar, but i know its mine" greatest statement ever! That sounds like a perfect garage band guitar. Great demo.

  • If your out of breath go see a doctor.

  • what kind of gig bag fits this guitar?

  • It fits in most gig bags. It comes with a standard fender deluxe gig bag.

It has a regular mustang body but a bit thicker, so it will fit any hardcase that fits the mustang.

  • thanks a lot

  • Dude GTFO.

    This had goddamn Jaguar pickups.

Get your shit in one sock before you spread your dieseased posts on INTERNET.

  • phaaaha, this was supposed to be a response to that "the same as the stratocaster" douche. oh well, i borked the internets again...

  • I think he means it fits in a gig bag like a Strat. Not that it's the same.

  • lol

  • yeah, I figured I would wait a little while and try other guitars, but when I came back to buy the cyclone it was gone!!! :( I have been searching with no luck !

  • great demo man!...yeah I had the chance of buying a cyclone just like that, and now I really regret it.

  • Its a good guitar. i have it black. "ladys love the comp. stripe, i know" :D

  • great demo. thanks for posting!

  • That's an awesome guitar! I love all the feedback noises you make, I'd like to learn how you did that.

  • Crank it up and turn on some fuzz/dist. pedals or whatever!

  • you're hillarious!

  • hey, cool video. i have this guitar. one question, how did you get it to make thoes cool feedback nosies?

  • I "engaged" some fuzz pedals and stuff. Noize freak out dude!

  • i think these are pretty versatile!! i bought one used and i am really happy with it.

thanks for the demo shortscale forum guy!!!

  • You guys rock i loved it. I'm actually going to try and buy one now.

  • I luckily got one of these just before they went out of production. Certainly a very cool guitar, but not as versatile as I had hoped for. But since this is the only guitar in my collection without a humbucker it expands the palette nicely. I wouldn't depend on it as my only guitar though since it's pretty limited in tone.

  • SONDS KOOL!!
