This is like the opposite of a Jag-stang. The Jag-Stang had a kind-of Jaguar body but sounded mostly like a mustang. And this one has the body of a mustang and sounds like a Jaguar. O.o I'm so smart guys :D
Just picked up one NEW at the local Ma and Pa music shop this weekend for $440 ... last place I would have expected to find one ... much less in NEW under warranty (But them again, they were the only store in Cleveland that had the Vai acrylic LED JEM20TH guitar) great tones! The painted white racing stripe over candy apple red really make this guitar. Still getting used to the slide switches. I was after a red Fender Competition Mustang so this is a keeper. Great demo .... thanks! :>)
@yamon98 that was a modified mustang with strat pickupsbut im sure fender had that guitar in mine when they made this its for that type of player indeed.
idk about you other folks but strats are too generic, fender cyclones are better. ive played one i prefer a cyclone or a jaguar over a strat anytime, there just so hard to find, sadly this review sucks
Fantastic! no stoopid noodley noodley, I want to hear what the chords sound like in different switch positions, not how many notes I can fit in a micro second, good demo & I like the head thrust, it shows passion, not look how clever I am!! Still prefer my Jag though!
@gasty34: after playing both, i'd highly recommend this one. i used to be a die-hard fender fan, and stocked up accordingly, and this was always one of my best-playing ones. the individual switching allows for all kinds of tones, and if you dial off the tone it sounds more like a blend control. only fender guitar i've ever been able to pull off making "angel of death" by slayer sound correct on amazingly!
Tone-wise, what's the difference between the 24.75 inch scale and the 24 inch scale on this guitar Vs. the Jaguar? I can't tell if it really makes a huge difference or not.
its nice to see someone not worried about their fuckin chops and all that... great review! first i've seen on 'tube that showcased a guitar's abilities with feedback and noise control... cool shite man!
By the way, everyone, I am building a guitar much like this one with parallel/series switching and Kinman pickups. It will have a 25" scale length and a Wilkinson VSVG tremolo. Beautiful maple neck. Nitro finish with ash figure showing through. It's going to rock.
LMFAO the beggining. u can hit ur shit lol. this guys hilarious. i like that neck clean imagine that with a slight amount of drive oh man. the bridge breaks up very nicely. lol the end reminded me of spinal tap lol
I so wanna get one!:( I don't particularly like jag pickups(but it still sounded wicked with fuzz, especially the middle pick up) so i would probably mod it with some other types.seymour duncan quarter pounder or some kinda humbucking rails (not a hot rails cos they're so much louder).anyone know what that should sound like?
I love this guy. Hahaha And yea the cyclone II is friggin sick. Wish i could've gotten one when i had the chance. Oh well... perhaps someday i'll come across one used :P
well the cyclone 2 has the jaguar p-up's and the cyclone 1 has a humbucker and a single coil, i've never played the 2, but the cyclone 1 i didnt think was that great, but i also play metal, so it might just not be my style
@elitemathlete My Cyclone I sounds awesome with a Lace Red/Silver dullay in the bridge and a Blue in the neck. Also I use short scale and I'm 5' 11" and my hands are big enough that your mom screams every time they're in her.
Typical elitist rubbish that comes up in every guitar conversation. There's diehard Fender and Gibson users who get more caught up in the idea of what country a guitar is made in, what parts it's made of, and they forget that music is about sound. If a guitar SOUNDS good, then who gives a shit where or what it's made of? By the way, modern US made Fenders are pretty damn shitty, and you can tell just by playing one.
You're an elitiest turd. A guitar is a guitar. If the player is any good, it doesn't matter where or what it's made of. There's tons of guys like you online and in real life that go on about how great some cuts of wood are, how terrible chinese made guitars are etc, and for the most part, guys who care that much about parts can't play worth shit.
Most people on here are a bunch of bums huh? Then why are you here? Bum.
And why are you so angry, is your life that shitty?
Shortscale guitars are toys for ignorant posers, everyone knows that. Im not as angry and worked up as you and I genuinely care for you in this time of deep stress for you.
Yes, because the brand and scale of guitar one plays determines their intellect (sarcasm). Your distaste for an instrument soley for it's scale length shows that you're an ignorant tool, something you claim so many others to be. Suck it hard elitiest schmuck.
I have the original Cyclone, the one with an atomic humbucker in the bridge and a single coil in the neck. It's also a pretty sweet guitar, though I want a Cyclone ii for the Jaguar pickups. If anyone has a chance to get either model Cyclone for a decent price, jump on it. They're massively underrated guitars.
Something very appealing about your sound and vibe. What were you running that guitar through? Is that a BOSS recorder I see? I'd love to hear more about your other gear too. Thanks.
yeah, I figured I would wait a little while and try other guitars, but when I came back to buy the cyclone it was gone!!! :( I have been searching with no luck !

LionsTigersAndTrouts 2 years ago
Dude you don't get into your music enough. ;)
I used to own one of these back in 2004. Sweet and unique guitar but it had a few hangups.
1. Wouldn't stay in tune.
2. The pickup switch is too close to the strings and I'd keep accidently turning off pickups (reversing the wiring resolved this)
I wish I had discovered vintage locking tuners before I got it or I would have likely kept it.
You should have done a demo with heavy reverb to show off the great surf sounds you can get from the C²
