Movie Review: Street Fighter, The Legend of Chun-Li

I've never seen a movie based on a video game to be actually good. I think the reason for this is that the game developers don't develop a good enough story for the characters. Not just for this game, but for all fighting video games. It could just be that game developers don't need a detailed story or depiction of the characters so they come up with a story for a character that is no more than a half a page. Give this to the people who make the games into movies and they'll probly won't do well

I'm not 100% with street fighter movies, never really seen any of them, but I have the 1994 animated street fighter movie and the animated series and both are excellent, and Bison is just such a great villain. That's when he wants world domination and to kill Captain Guile, Chun Li, etc. It's funny, I think even the Animated Series actually had blood in it and was more hardcore than this movie

Yeah, a 3-minute fan film has better special effects then this movie. Also, when Ryu does the spin-kick thing (the name's something Japanese) the director just uses clever camera cuts. They don't actually try to make Ryu spin around in mid-air. That's what they should've done in the Chun-li movie, instead of that ridiculous, laughable imitation of the Spinning Bird Kick.

It was just OK. The only movie I can think of worse than this is Super Mario Bros.

Yeah, now that I think about it I think they said it was one of those things that is plausible but near impossible; and that dummy head they used took a severe beating. But Chun-Li's back is turned in the movie so she can't even see the sword coming at her, which to me eliminates any chance of plausibility.

No im sorry you're right, after watching it again i realized that you dont spoil anything. I mean you didnt even talk about the beginning, the middle and the ending at all. And you think this review was long? Check out your other videos, they are about the same lenght. Although Robocop was 1sec shorter, so I guess you're right there too. And please note that this was not 50/50 ironic it 100/100. If this does not help then you can tell by the emotion in my text which parts I'm ironic and not.

Dude, it seems like all your movie reviews are just summaries. You basically go through the whole story and just spoil everything. Sure this is not a great movie but people might want to see it. A review is not meant to spoil the whole story scene by scene , I hope you know this otherwise you shouldn't go and tell other people how to do their reviews. And 11min seems a bit long for a review, its like 9-10 mins of the story and just 1-2 mins of your own thoughts which is what a review should be.

I don't think I spoiled the movie at all, I didn't even mention the so-called twist in the plot with the white rose. And if you compare my recapping the story to my commentary it's about 50/50; plus you can tell by the emotion in my voice which parts I liked and didn't like. This review was long because I'm trying to save people the ordeal of actually having to watch the movie; which a lot of people thanked me for. And if you think my reviews are long, go watch the Nostalgia Critic.

Yeah, the movie is downright bad. That is what happens when there are crappy directors who do video game adaptions of movies just like to take the interest in a name and try and make money without learning a thing or two about the story or characters. This guys who directed this movie and Doom is just as bad as Uwe Boll. I'm not kidding. Let us hope that Sam Raimi can do better with the World of Warcraft movie.
