If it is a young person, they will say that the Afghan war is serious, but would not consider, say the Napoleonic wars as being serious, as they are probably not personally involved. exactly, if i write 20 volumes of very vague verses i will also have a handful that in hindsight will appear as I have predicted the future. Not one of his "predictions" has been used to predict a future event. They are only attributed to him after they occur and people go back to try to find a link.

some one told me there's only a handful of people who can translate his words from the old french dialect. now take a phrase from your own language and type it into an on line translater into say german and then translate that back in your language and the phrase will say a totally different phrase. also we dont know what symbolism certain words meant to nostradamus, he may or may not have had 2nd sight, but we will never be able to know 1 way or the other. twist it to whatever you want it to be

Depends what you view as serious. Its estimated that 1 million died in the 1980-88 Iraq-Iran war. Then with the first Gulf War and the subsequent International Embargo 1990-03 another million dead.
Thats 2 million in 23 years. Not counting the current conflict.

aidy. Sorry. I can never convince you. These are local events. Far more people were killed in the Sino Japanese war in 1937. War becomes worse when these wars are not localized. That is what happened in the Napoleanic Wars and in both World Wars. These were serious wars. People grandstand about Iraq and Afghanistan now. However, world leaders know that wars must be contained. If not 100s of millions will die not millions. It was Truman who came up with this concept of containing wars.

Well I don't know, it seems a rather callous way of looking at things. If you where caught up in a so called local/contained conflict which killed family and friends would you dismiss it? The 3000 killed in the WTC, I suppose that was a local event. But still its effects have been shaping the world ever since.

aidy. What I am trying to say is that things have changed. In earlier times, there would have been a world war with 9/11. People are more sensible now. You cannot sacrifice 100s of millions of innocent people to avenge 3000 people. Also, many tragedies shape world events. You could argue that the Palestine conflict was the root cause for 9/11, However, it was still wrong to escalate this conflict and cause the deaths of these 3000 people. You have to look at things callously.

mr. I disagree with your statement. Sorry. It depends on who you are talking to as to how serious a war is. If it is a young person, they will say that the Afghan war is serious, but would not consider, say the Napoleonic wars as being serious, as they are probably not personally involved. An older person may think WW2 was serious, as they were personally involved, or they knew people who were. A young person would probably not consider WW2 as being serious.

Very possible, considering Italy's central position in Europe and the definition of the Empire in Nostredamus' time. A city destroyed by fire? Someone destroying someone's city without mercy?
