I love this video.! i have a same story with my horse only we both fell down a cliff and i nearly killed us both i was unconsous and she took off for help ever tho her leg was badly sprained and brought back help for me. I'm gonna start using Pure Apple Cider Vinager on my mare. Its supose to help. U just put the lid it comes with full of it and put some in the oats, or grain. And u can water down their hay every time you feed. I know that helps quite a bit.

CONTIUED...The vet can show you where to put the four magnets for 15 minutes a day. Two, one on each side on a certain spot on the withers, the other two one on each leg, down where the coronary band is.....
CONTINUED..There is a cough syrup called Wind Aid, all natural, peppermint and eucalyptus....you can give him some every day to open his wind pipe. The best though, is find a vet that does homeopathics and have him do magnet therapy/acupuncture on him. After the first treatment you can do the magnet therapy at home and this is what was a miracle cure for my pony with heaves.
CONTINUED... If he coughs and wheezes when out on pasture during the spring and summer, he's allergic to the pollen in the pasture. Then stall him, wet it down. Hang his hay in a hay bag and submerse it in water before feeding it to him. That reduces the "hay dust".
There are things you can do to help his "heaves'. Keep him out of dusty barns. If he's stalled, wet his stall , not muddy, but damp enough to keep the dust down.

Beautiful horse. I fed my horse a big coffee can full of alfalfa/timothy hay cubes soaked with 2 coffee cans full of water, when he got the heaves. It worked. I hope your horse gets better soon.
k just to let u kno 1 of my friends i rodeo w/her gelding has heaves and they just keep him off hay, and they got this idk what it is but it is like an azthema thing so it helps him breath... she still runs him and they r doing pretty good, but he coughs alot..but u should try that

Did the vet tell you what exactly the heaves were from? My old pony had TERRIBLE Heaves, but after observing it His owner noticed he only got it when exposed to commercial flyspray so we could only use 'Endure' (rather pricey though) and People bug repelent (like 'OFF!'). He also had very bad reactions to some weeds. He would get them because of inhalation of the pollen or direct contact. They kept him away from those things & he's great. He's now 29 and is still driving cart and trail rides.
he said something about dusty hay. he ate of dusty round bales for an entire summer and got heaves and now he's on special hay but it doesn't cure him, just keeps it at an minimum effect
I see. Have you tried wetting his current hay? Sprinkling water over it or soaking his hay, that keeps the dust down. The only issue is that if you soak it, it will only be good for that "meal" if it's left for too long it'll mold. But that works great if you put out hay for the horses throughout the day, but not so much if they have access to a round bale 24/7.

hang in there i know how it feels. my horse pulled a ligament the same month i bought him. he had six months off and he gets hives due to allergies on a regular basis. i know what it's like to look at our horse and wonder if he will ever be the same again. just hang onto the good memories.

No affense, but maybe putting him down will be best for him. I kind of know how you feel. My friend recently sold a horse that ment a lot to us. He was so gentle calm, the perfect kids horse. But what kept him from doing anything major was his alergies and feet issues. His front feet were so sore they had him denerved in the toe. He coughed and coughed, and there were many times when we thought about putting him down. I know it's sad, especially when things happen to those who are so special.

yeah. when he fractured his ankle three years ago, we kept him in the corral by himself to heel and he ate out of a dusty round bale for like a month and got heaves from there and just got worse from there on. we dont even feed our horses round bales anymore. it harms their internal systems so much sometimes. and ok, i will :)
but anyways lets see if god wants him 2 stay here 2 be ur guardian angel from down here.. or see if god will bring him up wif him so he can gallop again .

my arab has heaves, and the only thing that helped was soaking her hay and working it out of her. you can work heaves out of them sometimes.

I see. Have you tried wetting his current hay? Sprinkling water over it or soaking his hay, that keeps the dust down. The only issue is that if you soak it, it will only be good for that "meal" if it's left for too long it'll mold. But that works great if you put out hay for the horses throughout the day, but not so much if they have access to a round bale 24/7.

wow, henry is goergous animal, he Is BEAUTIFUL!!!! and the way he rears, just a bit before he starts running, awh that is soo cute! Hope it goes away,( well, it will never cure) but, you know what i mean, just by the video i know you love him so much and that, you take really good care of him, he looks amazing, Oh yah btw im 16 too, and im buing a horse next summer, and we should be youtube freinds so we can keep updates with our horses

i had a horse with heaves. bad heaves. and he lived to be 28. we just gave him ventipulmin every day it got really bad.. its a miracle drug! :)

and stopped breathing for awhile but
lcukily meds did the trick and
he came out of it.

hang in there i know how it feels. my horse pulled a ligament the same month i bought him. he had six months off and he gets hives due to allergies on a regular basis. i know what it's like to look at our horse and wonder if he will ever be the same again. just hang onto the good memories.

my horse is not riddale either, so we're gonna sell him, because hes very very wild. my horse is not sick or anything, just no one can ride him=( i am soo upset bcuz i love him so much and now i have to sell him and probably never ever be able2 see him again ='( I know how you feel about henry, ive had horses that got really sick =( hang in there!

No affense, but maybe putting him down will be best for him. I kind of know how you feel. My friend recently sold a horse that ment a lot to us. He was so gentle calm, the perfect kids horse. But what kept him from doing anything major was his alergies and feet issues. His front feet were so sore they had him denerved in the toe. He coughed and coughed, and there were many times when we thought about putting him down. I know it's sad, especially when things happen to those who are so special.

Wow...he is so young too. We had two horses that had that but they were in their early
20's my parents had to have them put down. I know it really sucks I'm very close with my two barrel horses I would be lost too if something ever happend to them.

thats really sad. hes such a pretty horse 2. it sounds like u and ur horse really luv each other 4 him 2 save ur life. i love all of the clips and my favortie would have to be da ones when ur in da field of flowers. u alwasys c dat stuff in da movies but not in real life! once again im so sry fur u and him. i hope he gets better. it would be to sad to c him die at such a young age : (

yea. the only thing we can do i guess is just give the best care to our horses. we're pretty helpless against shit like that and that really sucks. im glad of ppl who buy recuse horses and give them a chance.

thats wats SUPPOSED to happen. apparently, he's gonna sufforcate and its supposed to happen this winter and yeah, it will kill him. but i hope so much that these walks will make a difference. he's breathing better, but thats because of the food im giving him now, but he's still just passing by.

yeah. when he fractured his ankle three years ago, we kept him in the corral by himself to heel and he ate out of a dusty round bale for like a month and got heaves from there and just got worse from there on. we dont even feed our horses round bales anymore. it harms their internal systems so much sometimes. and ok, i will :)

The horses i knew that had it were able to be ridden, cantered etc still. They just had to be given this medication stuff in a nasal thingy. im so sorry
