Yes. He'll be playing on Saturday night in the Dinner With The Champion as well as the show. And he's bringing Johnny Maddox with him. Also, they'll both be doing the riverboat cruise on Friday.
hi again has adam ever cut a piano roll? doesnt qrs let players do this i surly would buy all of adams if ot were possible let me know i am one of his most favorit fans love that young man on the pianooooooo
hi my favorite young man still toe tappin away love your talent it is unreal adam i have never seen a piece of music in front of you how do you learn to do so well?????????????????? from 80 year old fan
A gem of a performance. Fats Waller would have been proud to hear this young man! I hope Adam starts his profrssional career soon if he has not already.
"It is an 1883 rosewood Weber upright. It has a full-sized "bird cage" style action. The dampers are above the hammers instead of below. When discovered in 1986, it was an ugly behemoth which had been painted white. Herb Dady of Nashville refurbished it in 1987/88 with new pins, hammers, and felts. The original ivory keys were retained and repaired. The following year it was stripped and refinished to its native rosewood. "
The piano in the video is indeed a very nice Weber piano. But it's by no means a so-called birdcage piano. The dampers in this piano are below the hammers like in a regular piano action. I might have been an 'overdamper' when new, but certainly not at the moment. In 1883 most pianos already had the underdamper actions. This was either one of them or the piano had it's action replaced at one time.
Adam is totally amazing. I've been watching the entire Adam Swanson playlist. But I want to say that the piano in this one is particularly wonderful, too. It sounds as great as it looks.
This video was up for awhile before I had the chance to hear it.
I am thunderstruck by it; indeed it cries to be played over and over. I was so captivated with "Spring Fever" that I was not prepared for this ever-enduring gem of pianism. Suddenly now we have his "Canadian Capers", too. My noggin' spineth.
@TheKnabe You should find him playing California Here I Come. There are a couple of versions but the best is with him in a white tee shirt with his back to the camera. It is, in my opinion, the absolute best thing that's someone's posted of him on youtube. I think he's outstanding.
@ penspineer007.. no... i did not give up in less than an hour. i dont understand why all my coments get - points. i got -4 on a comment saying "yea." pretty sad
