  • hey!! could you PLEASE answer this: does the Motorola Milestone xt720 have a keyboard? please reply man thanks btw awesome review :)

  • @PPPPWNAGE no physical keyboard on the XT720.

  • i like this phone but its laggy... is not that smooth and sometimes it crashes n the screen doesnt turn on again....

    i love it tho

  • i confused this phone with a Droid X when i sent this for repairs.

  • When will 2.3 come to your current devices?

  • It;s not getting froyo 2,2, wtf is wrong with motorola? I'm pissed to the extreme!

  • wind has this in Canada for those that are wondering.

I had my heart set on the Bold 9700 but now I don't know which one to get :(

  • @nimrooo

just got it myself with wind and it is excellent.

  • @CHAOS88100

I ended up getting the bold. All my friends had a BB and I really liked its messenger feature. If it wasn't for them, I would've gone with this one.

  • I like how it shows so many apps on the device, when in essence, you need to root your phone for apps2sd to be able to hold that many at a time....

  • This phone is wonderful. I wish it had oil-resistance screens for it though

  • @firzennet thanks, and noted on screen...

  • Value for money!!!

  • @nandi011235 yes it certainly is....glad you approve. Thanks.

  • When will Motorola Milestone XT720 get Froyo 2.2 update?

  • @dreamchase7 still no word that it will....sorry, we'll come back to you when we have more news.

  • i bought it in singapore. excellent excellent phone. but heard from someone its only available in some asian region for now. is that true?

  • @rapha24mt has been sold in Europe and SE Asia countries...

  • @rapha24mt YEP. I have this phone too.

  • I found a shop in Belgium where they sell this pearl! In whole Belgium there's no other shop! This shop got it from the Netherlands.. Immediately ordered it and gonna get it tomorrow.. But are there Motorola-repairers in Belgium too? Because if it would break down, I need to send it to another country :S

  • Will This Phone Be Sold in America ???

  • @KidAnimeJapan only via imports currently....

  • Omg !! este movil es mucho mejhor que el iphone 4 :] ]

  • im confused..what's the real difference between: Motorola MB710 / Motoroi / Milestone XT720 / Droid X ?

  • @TheHeavensReject . Okay, very fair question. Motoroi and XT720 are essentially the same for S America and Europe (but Motoroi in Korea is on different platform and has slightly different functionality). MB701 was launched in Hong Kong and is very much just the original Milestone without a keyboard. Finally DROID X is a breed apart, only available in US with much larger screen, faster processor and host of other features. So dependent on where you live, dictates availability. Hope that helps.

  • Is it going to be available unlocked and in other countries because I just want to get this beast! PLEASE RESPOND MOTOROLA!!!

  • @rumenthebest ...if this regarding sim free options, then yes it will be sim free. If this is in reference to bootloader, then our standard practice will be in place.

  • Any news if this phone will come to Canada?

I was debating on purchasing either the milestone, or HTC Desire, but after seeing XT720 i believe its worth waiting for if it will come to canada..

  • @Gtakagt there is no official announcement of the product for Canada thus far. if this changes, we will let you know.

  • Comment removed

  • Is this the droid 2? And will this have Motoblur?

  • @xxmigs41xx No this is not DROID2 and Milestone XT720 does not come with MOTOBLUR... if motoblur is your thing and depending upon where you are in the world we can recommend devices for you...

  • When will it be available in Malaysia and how about motorola flipout? Theres only one motorola smartphone officially launched in Malaysia (milestone)...

  • @mnsbmsrulez hello again our malaysian friend....sorry to say but no word on release dates for either product in Malaysia so far...we'll keep you posted...

  • @motorola: when is it available in india??? markets here may go bonkers on this!! pricing eagerly awaited here!!

  • @vbharath0708 no announcement for India, if that changes we will update. thanks for your support of the phone, much appreciated...

  • @SyrenniaLestrange the whole world has gone smartphone crazy, and we do like to bring exciting things to market....

  • Funny, I think it is voiced by the same lady as a "Rolex 904L steel" ad that you can find here on YouTube.. Though somehow while her perfect ?australian? acccent fits the Rolex ad, for a mobile phone it seems a little pretentious to me.. Anyhow, I am perfectly happy with my Milestone and wouldn't trade its HW keyboard for this in a milion years.. :)

  • @Iguana93 We are glad you like your existing Milestone....

  • @motorola Yes, though I would love the 2.2 update as is mentioned here.. :-) I am perfectly happy with Milestone hardware-wise and I especially appreciate that among all the mindless iPhone copies it has its unique design, but my 2.1 software still has some bugs like random idle restarting, music playback starting upon disconnecting the headphones and most importantly the alarm clock sounding a random amount of time after the set value. I would really like to see those fixed in the 2.2.

  • @Iguana93 As yet there is no decision on Milestone upgrade to 2.2 , but we are investigating the issues you talk to. Thanks.

  • would you be knowing when roughly can we expect 2.2 froyo for the milestone if we are getting it that is? took motorola a while to release 2.1 update. You guys really need to improve your customer service, its like your job is to only sell the phones and then forget completely about the customers who have actually bought your products. I have a milestone and my god it lags so bad sometimes, HTC phones with less powerful hardware can render faster. chop chop SERIOUSLY..!!!

  • @shui2hot4u There currently is no commitment to introduce 2.2 to the original milestone. We have made several improvements to the original Milestone, adding features and fixes as we go, and we are working on some more. Very few manufacturers actually upgraded their devices in market from 2.0 to 2.1, and while we always can look to improve, it would be unfair to say we have not supported Milestone.

  • @motorola so when u market a phone by saying flash ready, isn't that false advertising? Suppose there is no 2.2 froyo for the milestone offifially released by motorola, that means a lot of us will feel ripped off and I've seen various blogs asking the same question that if droid is getting so should milestone.

  • DON'T get this phone if it's not offered in your country by buying it without a contract. The locked down bootloader (which is very much against the Android spirit) will prevent you from rooting your phone and enabling payed apps for it, making it quite useless. Get a HTC Device instead. Better support and more in line with the Android-Spirit. If you don't want to root your phone (and loose warrenty) get an iPhone. This isn't for you.

  • @meisterli I think we will let others make their own mind up....we have already covered this ground in some depth below and on other threads. But you are slightly incorrect...you are able to root (albeit not something 99% of users want to do, and not something we recommend), but you are correct you cannot gain access to bootloader.

  • so does this phone has a 550mhz or 720 mhz proceesor speed? Different countries motorola website different spec???? :(

  • @leesc 550mhz

  • THE CEO of MOTOROLA is an indian but i guess after going to the USA he forgot this.... coz all those phones that USA Europe and many asian countries get INDIA doesnt even china gets it..... n china is india neighbor....

we expected more from SANJAY JHA....

  • @all90killers Regarding your comments, we just want to point out that Motorola has launched a number of devices in India recently, one of which – the Motorola Milestone – has been a great success and recently won the Smartphone of the Year award at the NDTV Techlife Awards 2010 in India. We are committed to the Indian market and look forward to further growing our business there.

  • what the diff between Motorola MILESTONE XT720 and Motorola Droid?

  • @vivianweijian Milestone XT720 is very different....it has 8 megapixel camera, HD video record and playback, zenon flash, and is also a touch tablet form factor, so no slide out qwerty. Hope that helps?

  • Dont buy this device. It has a closed bootloader. What good is a closed bootloader when Motorola itself CANNOT release a bugless firmware? You will have to wait for months on end to get fixes in firmwares. Get an HTC device and be happy. The xda community will provide bugless roms if and only if in the rare case that HTC takes long to release fixes

  • @adityat90 thanks for your comments...for those that know what a bootloader is, and willing to do away with their warranties, we are open in saying its not something we support. For the vast majority that just want a kick ass phone, then we'll leave them to make up their own minds as to whether XT720 fits their needs.

  • @motorola Wow thanks for replying Motorola. I have one more thing to point out. If you don't support such practices then do you at least support giving out bugless ROMs? Does your company model work on providing buggy ROMs? Is that the strategy that Motorola has adopted?

Now that I cleared my head up a little, tell me why does the DROID have an open bootloader? Contd. Down

  • @adityat90 Was it because you needed a device to push your sad company out of obscurity? Or was it because you felt that the rest of the world were mindless lab rats that don't know what they are doing and would always lead to breaking their device?

Thanks and I do await a reply. A really good reply.

And I also wait for a kexec and a ROM that makes SENSE. Pun 100% intended.

  • @adityat90 On Milestone we have have provided several updates, adding functional enhancements as we go, and necessary fixes as we go, and these have been well received as I say by the majority. Equally we know there is more to do.

  • its awesome, but i think i'm gonna wait for Windows Phone 7!

  • @AbdullaAlKhanin okay, thanks for your honesty...

  • Please for all that is good and holy come to T-Mobile USA!

This saving grace piece of technology is already compatible with T-Mo's bands. And the two of you are already seeing each other via the Cliq. So, how about the two of you lovebirds make us high-end Android starved folks happy and just say "XT720 IS COMING TO T-MO US!!".

    C'mon.. pleeeaaase? I can't take the suspense :(

  • @mbattol well suspense is a good thing right? ;) no details on US launch as yet...

  • Love it... Bring it on VZW. Please dont let this one get by.......PLEASE

  • @BigMotoFan well we like big moto fans ;) Not details on US launch as yet....

  • is it right, taht the xt720 will get 720 mhz?

  • @underthecover1 at present its clocked at 550mhz, there is investigation as to what is possible, but for the moment we recommend purchase on what you know today, rather than what you hope for in the future...hope that is okay with you...

  • OMG I luv tis phone so much but its kind of a dissapointment to me of the loss of teh qwerty ketboard ): dont like the virtual one

  • @XxXtiffanyXx ...well give it a go..I'm quite a sceptic on pure touch, but the virtual keypad is laid out well, very responsive, with haptic feedback too, and is very easy to use.

  • @XxXtiffanyXx i see wat ur saying

  • @XxXtiffanyXx The lack of Qwerty maybe a downside but i will love it if Motorola remove the D-pad i found it to be quite useless removing it and add space between those button will be a better choice.

  • I pray this comes to T-Mobile, it has great battery life, & despite some of the bad experiences I had w/ Motorola, I really like them. Them, Nokia & HTC are my fave phone manufacturers.

  • @LifeisMusic07 thanks for the endorsement, and sorry you have had some poorer experiences before...

  • @motorola Welcome, & thanks for the comment :)

  • @Sashulescu i hope its not an expensive house ;)

  • Please fix existing milestone's 2.1 bugs (like random reboots) before launching new milestones!

  • few question...

1)when is this phone goin to be released in india?

    2)will it have android 2.2??

    3)processor same 550MHZ or better??

4)does it have front facing cam??

5)can it do HD video 720p or still the outdated DVD like video??

  • @herambpatkar its 2.1, 550mhz currently but its slick, HD720p, no front facing video cam, no release date for india

  • when can we buy it?

  • @all90killers depends which country you are in, but rolling in europe from July...

  • @motorola any news on its india release coz out all the many android u launched only 1 is officially available in india.....

  • @all90killers No announcement date for India so far, but will will let you know.

  • Today, Motorola MILESTONE XT720 has launched to SINGAPORE with Starhub Exclusively!

  • @guanhao285 yes indeed!!

  • Will you release a version with AMERICA 3G bands?

    Please I wanna get it

  • @josuearisty announced for S America, not release info for US...

  • The idiot who directed this video left out the best side of this phone, the camera side look so good but he/she totally ignored it like plague in this presentation....what can can I say.....

  • @alansmz ha, ha... not pulling any punches today.... thanks for your comment...

  • Will Motorola MILESTONE XT720 be released in Canada?

  • @ashisthebest so far announced for Europe, if there is wider distribution, we'll let you know

  • @ashisthebest no details so far...

  • @ashisthebest

I hope it's sometime soon... I need a new phone.. but I don't know how long i would have to wait for this to come here in Canada.

  • @ashisthebest It is already releades in Province du Québec. I bought one. (videotron)

  • @ashisthebest It is already released in Province du Québec. I bought one. (videotron)

  • any chances of coming to mexico or unlocked with at&t frequencies???

  • @mavswi no news outside Europe so far, if that changes we'll sure to inform...

  • i've been waiting for this since it has launched in korea - thanks moto!

  • @dontthinkabout ... well that is good news, happy to help...not long to wait now...

  • Какой нахрен Milestone?! Это Motoroi !!!

  • @LexxK think you are saying why is this a milestone and not motoroi? It is a similar product to motoroi that was launched in Korea, but there are some differences...which is why we renamed.

  • My Family and I used Motorola phones since StarTac.

What i really is Motorola Rokr E1 because of it's Bass Stereo Speaker.

What i like in design is Motorola Razr2 V9!

What i like in Motorola Android is Motorola Milestone but i have no choice had to buy Motorola DEXT.

But MOTOBLUR really rocks, hope more users will start to accept MotoBLUR!

    You can do it Motorola!

    Don't give up!

In my life, I will only use Motorola phones, I will only use Motorola Modem.

Thanks for the18 years in my life!

  • @guanhao285 Wow!!!!! Thanks so much for that...really appreciate it.

  • Hello Motorola, Please let this Motorola Milestone XT720 sell in Singapore!

    Thanks!

(Also i will be waiting for the Droid XTREME and Droid Shadow) :D

  • @guanhao285 Well, no announcement on Singapore for XT720 so far...but stay tuned....

  • @SyrenniaLestrange what's up?? You like it so much, but have bought something else??

  • I hope this comes to America. It's certainly a lot prettier than the "Shadow" that keeps getting "leaked".

  • @JrgrimWoW we'll keep people updated with product releases as they are confirmed...thanks!

  • Nice advertisment video. Happy to see the giant back! Wishing your come back since E398 :)

  • Nice advertisment video. Happy to see the giant back! Wishing your come back since E398 :)

  • @chemss85 well thank you...we are trying to make the right decisions and build better, more exciting phones for people...but its over to everyone out there now.... As for E398...think i still have one rolling around in a drawer somewhere...pretty good for its time as i recall...all the best

  • this was probably already asked, but is there any plans for android 2.2?

  • @brabbitsp yes its been asked a few times ;) No decision either way, so trying not to sound like a recorded message, but we prefer to be honest and open and say please buy on the basis of what you know today, and not on what you hope may happen tomorrow...that way anything that does happen is a bonus....hope this sounds fair to you...

  • Holy sh!t im sold just by this TV ad!...was gonna wait for N8...but symbian vs this monster why oh why!..have the nokia x6 but this phone looks and seems like the phone to have...i cant wait!...now let us get 2.2. by end of year! haha wishful thinking..

  • @backchatkid well that has put a smile on the marketing team...many thanks! As for the other part, no decision either way so far, so please make sure you are happy with your purchase based upon what you know today, rather than what you hope for tomorrow....

  • @motorola For sure hey!..im just super glad that Moto has risen from the dead...my sriend has got the milestone original with that Awesome screen and keyboard...I was going to get that phone but opted for the x6 based on the free navigation..i see his android OS and great fluid screen and can only try to hide my nokia lol...im so glad though this new milestone will have a great camera and im super happy for the design..iPhone 4 aint got nothing on Moto. Big thumbs up to the company.

  • what about a review!!!

and I'd like to see a video showin how does this looks in a HDTV.

When will show hands on reviews?

  • @josuearisty ... there are a few circulating on the web as I write...stick motorola milestone XT720 in Google search and there are some hands on reviews already surfacing as well as a few videos of HD out to HD TV...

  • to everybody out there: excuse me for my caotic commantating!

  • Comment removed

  • @underthecover1 ...correct, it won't come with motoblur....

  • @motorola then your video is wrong, cause in the video you see the calll ind the message buttons, which are only in motoblur

  • @underthecover1 I'm afraid that you are incorrect...there are no motoblur screens being shown and the call and message softkeys you see are representative of the Milestone XT720 product. Hope that clarifies.

  • Comment removed

  • @underthecover1 there isn't a mouse or d pad, just move your fingers across the screen and select. The 3 points at the top is just the proximity sensor knowing when its close to your face. As for Android 2.2, same answer as earlier threads...at this moment there are no details on future upgrades, so we always prefer to be open with people and say be happy with your purchase for what it is giving you today, rather than what may happen in the future...hope this is fair to you...all the best!

  • @motorola yeah thanks for the anser, and excuse me for this coatic commanting!

  • @motorola but 3 points for the proximity sensor, other phones do just have one. And my last question: It really won't have motoblur/Motorola customised UI?

  • very very very interesting!! no keyboard... not bad!

  • @bonfo22 yes there is no slide out keyboard for this one, but the touch keyboard is a delight to use in both portrait and landscape mode, and also has haptic feedback on pressing so to provide re-assurance.

  • My dad works for motorola and I want this phone, every day he has sent me rumours about this phone and today he sent me like 20 texts sending me to this advert.

    I will be getting it.

And motorola keep being awesome, I have always loved your phones and how you test them by dropping them 10ft which is far more than every other country. Out of 3 motorola phones, they all work.

Will it be out by the end of this quater in europe?

  • @colonellemon When I say country I meant company. Man I am not ready for my English exam

  • @colonellemon thanks for the endorsement... yes we are expecting this to be released right at the end of June. Specific european countries still to be announced, so stay tuned.

  • Comment removed

  • which processor will it get and how much will it cost?

  • @underthecover1 currently clocking 550mhz (but don't let pure specs fool...this thing is slick)...pricing yet to be announced but assume in the region of original Milestone money...

  • Comment removed

  • @underthecover1 to answer 1) pricing yet to be released, so i was giving you a ball park to aim for 2) Germany details still to be released, so stay tuned 3) no details on upgrades so far, so we always say be happy with your choice knowing today, not what you hope may happen in the future 4) see answer 3, but to be clear this does not come with motoblur.... Hope this helps...

  • @motorola upps, deleted it, try to restore it...

    1) Will it be cheaper than the Milestone?

    2) When will it come to Germany?

    3) Will it get Abdroid 2.2?

    4) Will the updates take a longer time to proceed than the orginal milestone

Anwers are at the top. Sorry!

  • @janosik500 Thanks!

  • Great commercial, but is not agressive like VERIZON DROID

  • @josuearisty .... well we tried to avoid the rah, rah, rah in your face.... but thanks for the thumbs up! ;)

  • @motorola

When i said agressive I was not referin is bad, is great, I think this will make people, want to take it home!

    sorry about my english!!!

  • @josuearisty ..... yep we understood...your english is perfect...thanks for the endorsement...means a lot to us...

  • @TheMoviepreneur Yes, being announced in Europe today...if and when further distribution is announced we'll update...thanks !

  • @TheMoviepreneur Yeap, for now :]
