  • I admit I have the ability of a four year old in understanding French. I really think that thisis NOT Avril singing THAT well in Freanch despite her last name. She was raised in a small (English) town in Ontario and does not speak French. Could a a native speaker let me know if they think this is Avril singing in French. Hopefully in English or in really short simple French. I'm hoping to improve to the level of a French speaking six year old, in about ten years. . I'm French impaired. Merci.

  • Why does she have so many different versions?

  • @mikumikuhatsunelover

well in an interview she said she did that 'cause sooo many people from different countries learned her song and so she learned their language...or something like that

  • Looooooooooool =P

    Me Like ! =P

  • I speak French and I found it hard to understand it :) I love the Spanish one though ^-^

  • This video perpetuates discrimination against gingers. Disgusting.

(Ps. Her accent's very strange - is that typical for Canadian French?)

  • @sephir298 She's not actually French Canadian, just Canadian. Her accent in french makes it super obvious that she doesnt speak the language. We do sound different from France French, but it doesnt sound at ALL like this.

  • @Chapstick0414 She has French Canadian descent from her father :)

  • @Thecookielove22 No! Her father's french, from Fance... He moved in Canada with his family... Now, Avril Lavigne doesn't speak french. Why?

  • weird accent...

  • has anybody here seen the spanish version?

  • xD l'accent j'aime trop le clip !

  • Isn't she Canadian? Her french should be a lot better...

  • @JoelMonteiro yeah cause every canadian is supposed to be fluent in french.. -_-

  • in my opinion she actually sounds really good

  • @MsKittyKat7 i know right are you french?

  • i wana learn french so bad. not cuz of this song but just bcuz i like french and the way it sounds

  • here quick lesson. Je n'aime pas ta copine is translated into " I do not like your girlfriend " Je serai ta copine, the verb in there is etre. The stem is Ser which is future tense so this means. I will be your girlfriend.

  • its really not that hard mate, go for it

  • @nessy4me Yeah I used to live in france and speak french it was really hard learning it xD Are you French?

  • I've never realized before how conceited this song is

  • not much french only in chorus...

  • gd she did it in french her dads french i wondered where lavigne came from FRANCE!!!!

  • avril means April on Japanese I don't think that her name is French... just saying....

  • you obviously dont know french. avril is french for april. she is a french canadien...so thats thats

  • look it up!!

  • no i ment lavigne!!!

  • avril is not april in japanese... who the hell told u that... her father is a french canadian descent and he named her after the month april...

  • @aBigHelloKittyFan

"Avril Lavigne" is a French name.

    "Avril" means "april"

    "Lavigne" means "devine"

  • she's canadian...

  • ahahahah... nice...

i think she does a pretty good french version of it, and hey, atleast she's trying. x)

  • no, i really like this video, it's great!

  • French is the badest language? Haha. Try working on English first.

  • isn't "Lavigne" a french name?

  • @farang82 Canadian name, this is why it sounds "french"

  • i'm talking about where it originated from...

  • pfff!! LAVIGNE is a french name.

Moreover the canadian race doesn't exist, the Canada population is from a big parth of French decents, english descents + other nationalities.

there is many persons which have LAVIGNE for family name in France. Finaly, Avril's father was born in France, so I don't know why you said that lavigne is a "canadian" name.

  • How can you say shes not French-Canadian?

Her mum was born in Canada and her Dad was born in France. She is exactly "French-Canadian".

She probably has both passports to prove it, unlike most "French"-Canadians

  • I do not debating that she is French-Canadian but she speaks damn awful French

  • Heu, ouais okay, listen, if you don't like our language, that's cool, but don't insult us OKAY ?! Even if you find it sucks, i don't freaking care, you don't have to say that ...

  • Bien!

  • i have a better french accent then her and im only in francias un(french 1). Elle est mauvais!

  • @clearbear111 mauvaise*

  • stfu nin9official no one asked u

  • Im taking french too...

    Bonjour! Je m'appelle Chloe. J'ai 15 ans. J'habite a Bristol. J'adore Francais!

  • bad french..shes from CANADA????????

  • i actually know a bit of french

her french accent sucks..i see no effort

  • i think it sounds cool

    =)

  • I like that she's tried to be international with her music, but I wish she would have put more effort into the accent.

  • Comment removed

  • but maybe shes from toronto or something cause we only speak french in quebec and montreal

  • her french is bad xD

i do not unterstand anything oO

  • xD I agree. I was like, "Damnn, I thought she was from Canada."

  • For being a the child of French Canadians her French is pretty bad. I have no idea what she is saying and I think my French is good. Gratz to the person who actually figured out what she says, but if I were her parents I would've put her in French school for this lol.

  • PS: the Japanese version sounds the best ^_^.

  • She grew up in Canada the speak a diffrent dialect of French then in France.

  • No the french Canadian is the same than in France. Only some words and expressions are different.

there is the same differents between English from UK and the English American. But the truth is that Avril speaks french very bad

  • She's not french canadian but english canadian, so she doesn't speack French usually. I'm French and I like her accent, it's funny, she's not so sucks in french but it's just my opinion

  • its the typical english canadian accent when they speak french:P

  • Comment removed

  • Youre definitely wrong Avril is a French Canadian. Avril is a French name and Lavigne is a French family name. Moreover, her mother is a franco-ontarian and her father was born is France Ok her first language is English but she stays a French Canadian.

With a french father shes not be able to speak in french and her accent is terrible please dont try another time.

I think you dont know what is the definition of a French Canadian

  • In Canada there are about 10 millions of French Canadians. 8 Millions have got French like their mother tongue and 2 millions English.

Conclusion: Avril is a French Canadian even she speaks english. And her french is bad!!

  • ok all you people are dissing her!!!!! you try singing in another language its hard as crap

  • lawlz i take french but i had NO idea what thi meant lol shes like ja tana na pufnee XD

  • it's not 100% french but I like it =)

  • quelle horreure

  • Worst thing that ever happened to the french language.

  • nooo its cool >.>

  • why.... shes anmerican and had to ding her songs in like 9 languages can you speak perfect french!?....to me she did a fine job

  • no but like... even pronouncing "serai" is so easy, she's saying it like "sera".

  • it dont matter yall if your from canda and if you cant speak french. heck im and was born in germany and idk a singel word in german and my mom is the full german. so idk whats the big deal?

  • Actually, Avril's mother was Franco-Ontarian...

I tought the prononciation would have been better

    Sad...
