youbadtub, you don't make an ounce of sense in here. Nobody even said that! Miki is not disliked. She is a beloved figure skater and I bet nobody likes you.
i cant deny miki's skating technique is good and she tried her best..but i think her skating is not graceful and artistic, and she doesnt make full use of her arms and legs....maybe she hasnt got much flexibility .....i
i think miki ando deserve the silver than jaonnie.her long program is much better than joannie..well that's life congrats miss ando u deserve the silver..
And...Scott Hamilton and the lady on NBC in America said she was all about jumps...I disagree big-time! It was a skate with artistry, and choreograph well too.

Im sorry but I have to disagree. A lot of other commentators also said the same thing and I thought it was perfectly clear that there is no real choreography here.. Especially anyone remembering figure skating from late 80's and 90's would agree on that.. Technically it was very good though.
I still thought it was good. And consider the music with the program. Also, do not believe what the majority may say, they are not always right, and sometimes they allow their bias to influence what they say, without knowing. Scott and the lady are very bias. Look at the program with a clear mind.
I did watch skating in the 80s and 90s, kwan was my favorite skater. And Miki did no more jumps then the other top skaters did. Look at it again. thanks
Dont get me wrong, I'm not trying to belittle Ando and yes, technically it was very good. However, my problem is precisely with these "old school" musics, that don't really do anything for the skater. Back in the good days, the skaters showed character on the ice, even kwan had her own unique style and it was translated into her programme and choreography. I've seen this program twice already and everytime it left me very cold. She could do so much more than playing it safe artistically!
Back in the good old days? I can remember very few skaters in the 90s who were better than Miki in terms of artistry (Lu Chen, Oksana Baiul, Michelle Kwan and Maria Butyskaya). I saw no character whatsoever by, say Tonya Harding, Nancy Kerrigan, Surya Bonaly, Tara Lipinsky or Sarah Hughes. True, Miki's not a ballerina on ice, but I think she did an excellent job hiding that fact. And I've seen her improve over the years (pretty much like Arakawa from 2004 to 2006).
I didn't know that, thanks for pointing it out. But when it comes to Arakawa's artistry, I've seen a definite improvement in 2006 (she was absolutely gorgeous in Torino)!
Great job Miki! I wish she would have gotten 2nd place, i thought she deserved it. I hope she improves more for next year. And i hope she medals at the Olympics..
Welcome back, Miki-chan! I'm so happy to see you up there in the podium.
So happy for her, she's really an awesome skater. When she was 14 she made history by being the first female to land a quad in competition. She said today at the medal ceremony that's her goal for next year. I know she can do it!
even though yuna and mao asada are portrayed as the stars right now i still like miki ando's skating better she has more fire to her skating, it's great to see her make an awesome comeback after her injuries:)
sooo much better than rachael flatts miki ando is amazing!!!!

She got the bronze because her sp was not good enough. She beat Joannie in the FS but overall it was not enough.

And does yuna NOT have fire?,
yuna is known for the best performence
in short and long so far,
thats why she placed gold.
She also broke 2 world records, so
not really sure on what your talking about..
BobaSquirt 2 years ago
LOL i'm korean too but just a personal preference;; i've been a fan of miki ando way before yuna rose to stardome
btw if miki recovered from her injuries as fully as yuna i'm sure miki would be rivaling yuna
