  • BOB VARSHA FTW!!!

  • at first it looked like an ARCA crash

  • At first, it was like the 1960 Daytona crash!!!

  • How many cars were involved?

  • Is Dr. Phil in the booth?? LOL

    That was a scary wreck

  • Comment removed

  • Look at the 46 Car..the green and yellow car at 0:03

  • Greg Sacks ran that paint scheme in the Busch series since he did most of Tom Cruise's stunt driving for Days of Thunder.

  • Darrell Waltrip's car looked cool

  • Does anyone have the 1990 daytona arca big one just before this one?

  • This is the crash they show in Days of Thunder right before Cole and Rowdy have their big wreck.

  • this race was filmed for movie footage

  • John Hayes is about to cry he sounds like

  • Johnny Hayes, wasn't he with US Tobacco?

Good lord, nobody was left. lol.

  • Yep, he also fielded the the Skoal and Copenhagen cars in the early 1980's for Benny and Phil Parsons.

  • one of the announcers(which i think is bob varsha) said there were 13 cars involved in the crash...the actual number involved was 27 and you could clearly see at least 17 in that wod long after the wreck had ended and many cars drove away, i dont know where he got that number.

  • what network covered this race?

  • Prime, which did Busch races,Limited Sportsman races and other events I can't remember at the moment.

And the announcers are Bob Varsha and Johnny Hayes.

  • That was the 1st of 5 straight years that Dale Earnhardt won the Busch (now Nationwide) race at Daytona (1990-1994)

  • One of them sounds helluva lot like Darrel Waltrip.

  • That's Johnny Hayes not Darrell Waltrip. Darrell Waltrip did crash out of the wreck and Neil Bonnett spoke to him.

  • That is on Crash Course!

  • Only 21 cars finished the race

  • err thanks

  • Thsnk you, racermac1988.

  • Did i see cole trickle?

  • Who had the call?

  • Bob Varsha and Johnny Hayes with Neil Bonnett in the pits.

  • Bob still does racing broadcasts, he does Rolex 24 Races on speed...and other world racing.

  • For reference purposes, this crash occurred on lap 14 of the race.

  • This was the wreck they used in Days of Thunder when Trickle and Burns flip.

  • i thought thats were ive seen this crash before.

  • You would be correct. GO SKINS!

  • The commentators in the booth are Bob Varsha and Johnny Hayes. Neil Bonnett was doing pit coverage.

  • I actually captured this one, not endurodriver.

  • The City Chevrolet of Days Of Thunder fame just made it by on the high side.

  • think theres a few more than 13 in that one, more like 17 or so

  • In the end I believe it was around 21 cars involved.

  • Does anyone know what PRIME NETWORK is or was?

  • Was a group of Regional Sports Networks in the late 80's early 90's. Had a disastarous NHL contract with horrible ratings. The RSN's were bought by FOX and other media (Comcast). Prime now known as Fox Sports Net.

  • The problem PRIME always had was when they covered racing a bunch was done on tape delay and you pretty much never knew when you would see an event. I used to look forward to watching Super Dirt Week @ Syracuse and wouldn't see it until at least December in my area.

  • It sounds like DW but he's in this race. I'm thinking a current Cup driver

  • Dale Sr. won this race that day.

  • 13 cars, it said on the video.

  • How many cars were involved, about 18?

  • That sounds like Bob Varsha Calling the race.

  • You are correct Buggy1boy

  • Thanks! And I forgot who the other person's name also calling the race.

  • Yeah, who is the other person doing the commentary?

  • yea the other commentator sounds like Darrell Waltrip but hes in the race so it cant be him

  • That sounds like Neil Bonnett.
