Maaan! you just made me jump ropes 04:24 at night... i wanted to test if i was able to do those FUNNY rly funny stuff! and i actually made 2 of them!!! im so happy and i wanna jump nd train on these jumping ropes ALL DAY LONG MAN!!! :DDD!!! thanks please come with more freestyle :D
@hash1212121212 Yes, just practice the cross with out jumping a few times, let the rope hit your feet. Make sure you arms reach across your body far enough. Then try it while jumping once you have the feel. Once you get it, practice it in between regular jumps. Have fun!
you're only doing that cause you're not fat like me! you only make it look so easy cause you are fit and trim and in shape........ oh... i guess that's the point huh. well i'm going to keep it up and and maybe soon i'll make it look easy too. nice video, i enjoyed it.
I liked these videos you put up. I have a question. Would this be a good way to exercise for Soccer as well? Seeing that you are using jumping muscles. Soccer players can jump quite high especially the goalie who most of the time launches himself at the ball. Would you reccommend?
@MrOebie Thanks for the message! Jump rope is AMAZING training for soccer players. It will help with staying light on your feet, change of direction, and quickness, especially some of the more advanced jump rope exercises. And yes, it will help with vertical jump also!
This was a really helpful and informative video. I especially liked the stretches that you include before and after the actual jump roping. Thank you very much!
@TeamCommit hi there. Definitely give your calves time to rest, and make sure you are not doing too much too fast. Try every other day, and do stretching and some other kind of light cardio on the days you do not jump rope. It is not too big of a deal if it is muscular pain, but why take the chance?
my rope a bit too short. I'm 179cm high and my rope is about 275cm with the handles. Cut about 25 cm from it. So I'm guessing it was 3m fabrically. It was rly hard for me at the beginning because I either slapped my head with it or it just didn't reach the floor on time. But got used to it. I saw you say that shorter rope means harder jumping. So how's my rope for me? Should I get a new one?
Thanks for the comment, sounds like you are doing great! I would keep the current rope you have, sounds like you have adjusted. You can always get a new one later, I say keep rocking out with that one. Keep up the great work!
Hi, I'm 17, male. I've jumped as a kid with the girls in my neghbourhood as I was younger and I was pretty good actually. I bought a ball bearing vynil Kettler rope (that I think is a fake, but nvm that) and started jumping today. At first it was rly frustrating messing up every second jump. But in about 20-25 mins I got the rhytm. Still just doing the single, feet together jump, but roughly calculated I think I managed to do 150-160 jpm. How's that?
I'm a beginner just jumping like 20 minutes a day for cardio/just-getting-shape purposes. Should i incorporate some sit-ups and/or pushups into this routine?
Yes! But balance out pushups with rows or pullups, and crunches with back extensions or you will set yourself up for injury. Balance is everything! Good luck!
Sorry, what was the question? Your rope keeps hitting your legs? If the rope size is good, it sounds like you need more practice. For a new person, 5 minutes without stopping is very hard.
Do you think its ok if I jump the rope on a room with carpet without shoes? or its better on ceramic with shoes? I'm planning on start today! how long do i have to wait after eating to begin jumping?
hi there. It is ok to jump without shoes, but I wouldn't definitely avoid it in the beginning unless you were a ballerina or someone else with very strong feet. I guess if the carpet was very thick, it might be ok.
Depends on what you eat, you will probably need to wait close to 2 hours after a full meal, but not wait as long if you have only eaten a snack....
how long before you became that good? i just started and im really inspired with every style u di, il try to learn everything, but im having a hard time on the fast ones because im a smoker.
hi there! Thanks for the comment. It really varies, I do hope you stick with it. You will get better at it little by little each time you practice. Just focus on little improvements and you will be jumping like crazy before you know it. Try your best not to focus on the fact that you are a smoker when jumping! You are a jumper, and your lungs will adapt and open up. Let me know how it is going. J
Yes! but there may be other exercises that are better, depending on what kind of activity you need strength & endurance for..... but don't let that stop you from getting down with the jump rope!
Can you give some explaining to the trick you do at 0:54 till 0:55
first ya do 2 crosses and then the trick I want to learn
It seems that you don't really need to use your feet for that particular trick it looks like you throw the rope with your arms first to left then to right en then back to foot work again. Am I wrong or not please help me out.
I bought a leather rope w/ bearings in the handle. It's stiff but starting to break-in. Do you see any inherent problems in going advanced w/ a leather rope? I still get caught on the rope too often and I don't know if it's the rope or me...
You got it Duck! Thanks for the ocmment.

jump roping will also help you build your calves right?
RodrigoVanilla93 2 years ago
definitely will make your calves stronger, will probably make them bigger but not necessarily, depends on your genetics.

No inherent problems with leather.
Make sure the rope is the right length (see part 1), if it is, you probably just need to keep practicing....
