Incredible. I don't care about meeting "famous" people-- I wanna meet NoMeansNo. And for John to give me drum lessons. For free (JUST KIDDIN', I'd actually pay a good chunk of cash for that, and gladly). Or Rob to give me bass lessons. OR, I'd just love the chance to see 'em live!

One of the bands more Canadians should be proud of. Creating the kind of music they want to, as opposed to creating the kind they feel they have to,
is something to be truly proud of. There's more to music than just following a formula. No Mean No challenge themselves and deconstruct the formula. Exploring music's darker and rawer side. Everybody has a dark side. Let's not kid ourselves. Now...enjoy the ride! hahahahaha
i imagine the breakup was amiable. tom and andy and the wrights all contributed to various showbusiness giants stuff, and they're still all part of the same victoria scene.
Now, THIS is Nomeansno. They were just never nearly as good without Andy. I've seen em live with Tom several times. Nothing ever came close to seeing them on the Wrong tour.
Oh man that was nice. I always wondered what Andy looked like, got into NMN around 0+2=1, but never saw Andy live. I sort of like his style better than Tommy's, who is more deliberately quirky. I saw them a couple times last year, and they seem to have slowed up a touch from their older shows in the early 90's, but the shows still seem to F'n rule.
This is great, thank you. I've seen dozens of bands over the years but it was only when I saw NMN in 2004 that I knew what being "blown away" meant. No one can play like NoMeansNo!
I remember seeing this song on Chris Sheppards show one friday night god IM OLD

Andy couldn't bear it anymore so he left and released a couple of Hissanol records. It is some funky experimental stuff.
But yeah great posting, I wish I had seen them in old line-up.

Ah man, great memories. Saw them throughout the 80's, WRONG being the best album I think!
jcoldpack 5 years ago
Wow, NMN were so original back then for a hardcore band. I'm off to listen to my old vinyl again. Thanks for that.
i reckon the year would have been around 1989 as that album came out in 1988.

YES! THANK YOU!!! I saw the shows at that era. I really miss Andy Kerr as guitarist of NMN. Do you got more of this footage? (or anyone else).

is that guitarist still with the band?
terrorfearor 5 years ago
No, thats Andy Kerr he did more music after NMN under the name Hissanol, their second album is really good. Tom Holliston is currently thier axeman.
