Definitely an Oud (Ud) or Outi. It's not even close to a bouzouki. If it had frets it would be called a Lute (La-outo). In any case this is brilliant.

take it from a Greek. This is NOT a BOUZOUKI it is an OUD (in Greek Outi) They are not similar, they do not look the same, they do not even sound the same. There is no confusion between the two to me The Oud is a bautiful magical instrument, the prince of inchantment. The Bouzouki is an over played piece of rubbish that became hugely popular in Greece in the 1930's. It has been an ever growing cancer on the Greek music scene ever since.
This piece is called "Parfum de Gitane" it is a composition by the Tunisian oudist Anuar Brahem. It has become a "jazz standard" in the oud repertory...
I think you and I are the only ones that noticed that this is not a bouzouki. Actually I thought it was a Lute. An Oud is a type of Lute though isn't it?
