  • Are you insane? Perhaps you should check...

  • you, my friend, are a wackadoodle.

  • These are Neil's views. Obviously you can't see the logic in them if you can't agree.

  • hmmm... "Neil Peart is God" yet he does not believe in God. Does this mean that we are not even here and we just don't know it yet?

  • For all of you, Neil does not always write in present terms, as in, about himself. There are what, 7 billion people on the earth, and a lot have their own thoughts and ideas. He writes for virtually everyone so they themselves can personally relate to the song and lyrics. That's entertainment! Anyone know the song, "Superconductor"? lol

  • I agree with what gaybayawsung67 said. For all any of us know Neil could believe in the unknown. Just because someone believes in God doesn't mean they never had the thought that maybe God doesn't exist. It's all based on what you believ and how you think. There are plenty of good people who don't believe in God. The point of the song is to be aware of the possibility of there being a God or not.

  • I see no problems with this worldview. Take responsibility for your life and your world!

  • I get the sense that what Neil is trying to say is to "balance" human freewill with the unknown i.e. God/creator. Neil may believe in the unknown but that as humans we should be wary of trying to explain our own interpretations of what that unknown is. Rather listen to our own spiritual selves of what that unknown is. Each person might have a different understanding of what God/creator is but that's their own understanding and that is what I believe Neil is trying to say.

  • Neither Einstein or Neil Peart believe in a supernatural being... this is typical religious behavior trying to decieve by misquoting:

Einstein himself stated quite clearly that he did not believe in a personal God:

"It was, of course, a lie what you read about my religious convictions, a lie which is being systematically repeated. I do not believe in a personal God and I have never denied this but have expressed it clearly."

  • like all athiests.. neil peart, a great drummer and poet is now facing his faithlessness as he ages. His writing's are becoming more and more.. eek. It's so obvious there is a god but living an atheist life.. this is the end result. It's not a pretty lifestyle to lead. I respect Peart and all his talents and I am a fan of Rush. But you think with his mind.. he'd at least have some common sense to not fall into stupidity.

  • His family has been decimated just like what happened with Job, is he wise enough in his own mind to see this and realize there are powers at war over him ?

... and he is ignoring this in favor of his own intellect.

  • Job is a character in a Jewish fairy tale told by men who sought to retain a Talibanesque control over their primitive society. If you believe that the man actually existed you need to take some lessons in literary appreciation because you really suck at it.

  • @noninon so he should not use the brain that you believe your so-called God gave him, and instead be a blind slave?

  • Peart, wrights some of the most sophisticated lyrics around and you have the nerve to call him stupid. So anyone who disagrees with you is stupid? plus what do you mean there is obviously a god. there must be some twisted logic your using here because there is NOT a SHRED of evidence of your god the Hindu god the ancient sun, moon, wind gods NONE of them! not only that but because you see people as inferior with such an ignorant and overall xenophobic view is absolutely the most PATHETIC view!!!

  • to answer your question- yes you are stupid.

  • also 2 things- you're stupid to have replied to something i said 4 months ago (cough, no life) and coming from someone that has 3 favorited videos.. one of which is pro athiest.. i think that says it all =p (loooooser)

  • you may notice that that your comment is well its still even on the FIRST page. second i dont favorite because i organize everything into playlists. third........if it wasnt already obvious to you that i was an atheist im talking to a ten year old. fourth thank you for completely reinforcing my point. you seriously have CRITICAL thinking to do you ignorant immature petty piece of shit. later and may Gob B. less

  • Yes, so you stand by what i said? you're a dumb ass? Congratulations dick weed.

  • These videos show the fallacy of Neil Pearts worldview based on logic. There is a God

  • Comment removed

  • honestly, who seriously cares what his views are. its rush, not some damn talk show.

  • I cannot believe someone is suggesting tha Neil Pearts lyrics support the belief that there is a god. Talk about misinteruptation of someones views. He is clearly atheist. He has supported Richard Dawkins, read the lyrics of Fathless, how clear do you want it to be? You use Freewill and Faithless in your video but totally miss the point he is making!

  • who gives a fuck

  • I'll bet he believes in destiny AND the guiding hand of fate, after all he's been through. Betcha he still doesn't believe in religion, but a higher power.

What makes you say he would write things the same way?

  • [shaking head] I remember when they announced they were recording Vapor Trails. People swore that NP's lyrics would be an apologetic acknowledgement that he been wrong about the existence of God. Two albums later, people still, curiously, insist he isn't an atheist. If the lyrics on Snakes & Arrows aren't proof that he doesn't believe in the stupidity of religion or share the idiocy that is believing in a god, then pick up his books. He spells it all quite clearly.

  • @siti1ca He most definitely does not believe in destiny. Listen to Freewill. That spells it out quite clearly.

  • i'd like to see what Neil would say about his lyrics to ghost of a chance now.

betcha he wouldn't write them now after his personal tragedies

  • I think that he would.

  • Never mind Ghost of a Chance, have you actually listened to his last two albums??? Yikes! Listen to The Stars Look Down, Faithless, and The Way the Wind Blows. Believe whatever you want to believe, but don't attribute your beliefs to him. By the way, pick up his books Roadshow or Traveling Music. He states his position clearly.
