I too am an ardent fan of the great ghazal king Talat Mahmood and have been listening his songs since my childhood days. This world cannot produce any other ghazal singer like Talat Mahmood. Thanks lailoenisa for this unique upload.

  • All talat songs are greatest & delightful to listen any time, any where and in any mood. I am listening to him for the last 60 years and I would love to listen him upto last moment.Manohar

  • lyrics is probably by Firaq

  • The soothing touch of his voice can make wonders. His voice could heva been a great healing therapy. He is a marvel. He still reings supreme over his fans. A great singer of all times. A real Ghazal king. I wish that Talat and Rafi should heva been today to give treat to their followers...

  • I like Talat very much. He was my father's favourite singer. His songs bring in nostalgic feelings. He has contributed much to Hindi film world with his melodious voice and he marks an era - an unforgetable era indeed. May his soul rest in peace forever. This song is one of his best songs----- Subramanian A, State Bank of India, Kanjikode, Palakkad, Kerala.

  • Its touching !!

  • MY ALL TIME FAVOURITE SONGS

  • One of the classic by Talat , i love this song.....

  • dard bond bankar barsi....mujhe bhigo gayi........

  • I just wanna share sumthng that.......when TALAT MAHMOOD was only 16yrs old taht had sung successfully the compositions of USTAAD MIRZA GHALIB, USTAAD BADE GHULAM ALI KHAN, PANDIT BHIMSEN JHOSI and other legends with ease in ALL INDIA RADIO in 1942 to 1943......Only a genious of that calibre and potentiality can dare to do such thng...........He is no doubt a "SULTAN OF GAZAL"..........I am a modern boy of 17yrs but I dont fear to say that I dont hear " MUSIC " nowadays........

  • I absolutely agree with you and I witnessed in all of his live concerts in Ahmedabad sitting in the front row.

In all the concerts, had he fulilled his fans demand, he would have not finished the program that night. I bet for that.

  • Please do not compare Talat & Rafi - they are both great singers, but different and that is what makes listening to their music so enjoyable even after all these years.

  • this was my grandads fave song...:)

    can somone translate it please?

    Zara xoxoxox

  • The starting goes ...

I swear by the evening of my sorrows,

    I am very sad today,

Come here, oh come here my love.

    Heart is at stress,

    Night is empty

Come here and see how lonely I am!

Quiet strong lyrics. I think that is enough for you for now. Right? :P

  • Thank you so much for uploading these song. Talat Mahmood is my ultimate favourite singer, his voice is absolutely soul-stirring

  • TALAT MAHMOOD HAD THIS SOUL STIRRING INCREDIBLY TOUCHING VOICE! AM TOUCHED TO THE CORE BY THE SWEETNESS AND EMOTIVE GENUINENESS IN HIS VOICE! :)IT'S AWESOME! MR K D KAPOOR SAYS THAT HE *PERSONALLY* KNEW TALATJI, I FEEL FORTUNATE TO BE ABLE TO TELL MR KAPOOR HOW MUCH RESPECT HIS FRIEND TALATJI HAS AND *WILL ALWAYS HAVE* IN THE HEARTS OF MUSIC LOVERS WHO *CHERISH* HIS VOICE AND *KNOW* THAT IT COULD ONLY COME FROM A *GEM* OF A HUMAN BEING! WITH DUE RESPECT TO YOU TOO, MR.KAPOOR!:) Ritu - California

  • My favourite song from my all-time favourite singer. I was fortunate to know Talat for many years and he was not only a great singer but a great human being. He got along with everyone in the music and film industry. He made Ghazal singing popular. In the Fifties and sixties he was the KING as a male singer. He was known as the man with the silken voice. Godbless him. A great soul!

  • nice song

  • I never understand why we praise and miss them when they are no longer with us and not when they are alive. Talat is/was simply divine to listen to. Love him and miss him terribly. RIP.

    Moby

  • one of my most favourite song.

  • Such divine voice..takes you to another world...I feel goosebumping...

  • if thats talat mehmood's picture i must say he was one handsome man for those times...he could become an actor ...he is good looking~

  • Talat acted in 13 films but he realised that singing was his forte. He was more good looking/handsome than this picture in real life. Breathtaking to look at. Cannot forget him.

  • soulful... hurts tht this era ain't comin anytime now...

  • The quality of Talat Mehmood's voice can perhaps be compared with only that of Mohd. Rafi and Manna Dey; smooth, silken and haunting.Talat Mehmood will be forever remembered.

  • evrgreen song sung by late legend taalt mehmood. so malodious voice. fantastic lyrica and excellent music. combination of all these things make one to listen this song everyday. that was the quality of voice of Talat sahib. we miss you very much but love you from our hearts.

  • God has given him a voice and he had polish to the extend that none can reach.

I request the lover of Talat, and all on the board if they can or the HMV can produce four to five Cd's for the pleasure of many music and Talat lovers all over the world.

May God beless of the lover of Talat Mahmood.

  • I agree with you. This voice is divine.

  • Soothing!!!!!!

  • This song seems like came from haven. Perfect voice, perfect music & perfect lyric.

  • Talat has one of the finest voice "Makhamali".

  • Really an Immortal song. Crying man's inner voice.

  • you are right about that

  • The song is full of pathos, the feel and the emotions that encompasses the rendition by Talat is beyond compare. Beyond doubt the most soulful singers of our times. No other singer of his time came close to him in soulful renditions and were pedestrian in comparison. Given the quality of singers of his time, he was without doubt the finest amongst the great singers of his times. Thanks for postng this song tht brings a lump in your throat.

  • nice song

  • The song is one of the best songs ever. In all respects : Lyrics, Composition and Singing.

  • Yes best ever & better than any best of Rafi's song

  • I don't think so...Rafi is incomparable. Even if you forcibly compare him with Talat also he will always be infinite times ahead of him because his voice is full of all possible qualities a human being can think of. In Rafi sahab's voice Talat's qualities are already included and besides that he has infinite number of other great qualities which are inexpressible and can only be felt by a great music listener.
