  • And 2nd movement.. sorry, I forgot to mention, hehe

  • Sing it out! .... good job though(: Just keep that in mind for future performances; Sing! Use dynamics, and tell a story with the piece, make it go somewhere (I had the 1st movement in mind, with this comment)

  • Ah, I should've watched this sooner.

I'm a sophomore in High School performing this solo for a competition tomorrow. I'm really nervous about my fourth movement because I cannot hit the last three notes perfectly. What do you think I should do? I hope you respond in time, although, you probably won't. :/ Anyways, your version is far better than mine. Well done.

  • hey sounded cool, though what made you choose to use vibrato? Being a baroque there's no vibrato usually... sounded really good though

  • i got into the same course at waapa in western australia,

i suggest faster vibrato all around, especially in the first movement

also, you need to take note of phrasing especially in the first movement, i noticed you breathed in the middle of phrases and a bit too often

dynamics definately are not there at all, so that definately needs working on

you do have fantastic control going between the upper and lower registers

    3/5

and watching this has made me buy this piece :)

  • Good vibrato and all, but try adding a little more dynamics. For example, movement three there was a part where it was FORTE then piano... yet you kept it the same level. Great articulation though! All in all, i give it a 3/5 because of the mistakes... Sorry!

  • oh and way too slow, and on the last 3 notes of the piece u toungue stoped or sumthing like it and u are supposed to drag them out and use vibrato expecially on the last note if u know how

  • u didnt add those things ur supposed to, see in the Beroke period(the time this piesce was made) u were EXPECTED to add little bits of ur own to the 1st and 3rd movements where u didnt, im gonna gues tht if this competition/audition was anything special, u were counted off for not doing so.

  • haha 6:13 evry1 fucks up there just blow tha fuck outta that to make it come out slur tha first 2 then kinda sneak in a tounge on the last one if u can

  • its really not that hard if ur not an ameture, u just need the right kinda reed/mouthpiece/ligature to do it right if not, just prax prax prax and u will make ur tounge learn to tounge ass fast as u need

  • did u make it in?

  • more range of dynamics in the second piece. especially after the first piano, i believe it is supposed to be a gradual build louder correct? I haven't played this in a year, but that is what I always do.

  • I have this solo to play too for next year's solo n ensemble...

any few pointers you can give me???

    thx.. much appreciated...

  • practice toungue excersices for the last movement and part of the second, trust me it will make the world seem conquerable, lol soo much easier on this piece if u know how to toungue quickly

  • hi um...i can help too if you like i played this as well. um i would work on the trills in some of the mvts. second mvt watch out cause sometimes you speed up. and it may help to add in those rit in the second and fourth mvt. also practice breathing at right places like in the fourth mvt. idk if you already worked these things out but i also played this song too. i can explain more about the fourth and second with the rit. but other then that ^w^ idk if you too the auditions but i wish you luck.

  • dude...you need a new reed

  • don't rush the second movement, and you need to work on your trills

  • haha

  • haha
