I realize its a bit late to criticize as you are no longer doing these reviews anymore but I wish you could have always given alternitives to the games you are reviewing or similar, recommendations. Always enjoyed your reviews though, they shall be missed.
Yes. You see, "orient" is a latin word meaning "the east." As opposed to "occidental" meaning "the west." The Romans considered what we call "the middle east," as simply "the east," because, you see, that's how they saw their world. They may have been aware of China, or lands further beyond, but they weren't very important. Scott is simply applying the term the way the ancients used it, because, you see, it's a game set in the ancient times.
Lets say: Green movies in with 3 troops to a yellow land and ask for permission to stay. Yellow decides to fight with green. Yellow have 1 temple 1 city and 2 boat how does the combat resolve itself? do you remove the temple or 2 boats and 1 city?
they just can't fight against each other! the temple is fixed on the city, you cant remove the temple without destroing the city. this would cost at least 5 troops at this situation.
Are you sure? I've never really noticed. Do you have a time in the clip where it shows little or no teeth? (I'm not being a flamer, I'm really curious.) In the opening it looks like he has no bottom teeth, but he does, it's just the way the camera angle is.
i'm kinda sad you're not doing the series anymore - i watched all but one just now, and it was great fun indeed. i'm mostly interested in game design, not so much buying the games myself.
Excellent review as usual, Scott! Since you started your video reviewing of games I rarely buy anything before viewing your review first. Also, your explaining the rules works much better for me than just reading the rules from the box: it saves a lot of time and I'm surprised why editors haven't started putting DVDs with your rules' explanations into the boxes yet(shouldn't be that expensive?!)
Great review, very helpful, thank you Scott! A video review of Settlers of Catan would be a great idea for the future, to attract newcomers to the hobby.

Major audio problems from 3:57 to 5:48 where the voice volume drops and there is this constant thump thump. Very distracting.

Great Job. But Syracuse is not in Greece, it's in Italy (specifically, Sicily).
