Cryptomundo's Loren Coleman went to the site and measured the buoy as only being 60 feet from shore. It looks much farther away and the object bigger than it is. So the critter may be just 30 feet away, which is very close. As far as the head shape, when it turn's his/her head it looks like Touche Turtle to me. Try the U-Tube clip called " Lake Champlain Champ Sighting 5/25/10 Part 2," for the real Champ !
The reason a 'lake monster' would have survived all these years is because it has kept itself a secret. leave it alone. it wasnt meant to be discovered
no turtle can descend that gently. no one has a head shaped like this animal. and everyone who does have knowledge of kind of disturbances caused by movements under the surface, knows that these animal has a long snake like body that moves vertically in waves. this animal moves like an eel but vertical - not horizontal... clearly a strange unkown animal. discovery channel has a film of these animals, pursuited by belugas, bought from a fisherman's son for 75.000$ but hold it back now
@pogsquatch I have a question though. Do they get that big up there? Or is there an optical illusion going on with the camera? It just looks too big to me to be a snapping turtle. They only grow to about right around 2 feet. And the shape of the head is wrong. It looks more to me like the head of a deer or something similar. I don't think for a minute that this is a dinosaur, but I don't think it's a turtle either.
this is something living animal. the distortion of the water behind proofs vertical movements underwater. i know this because i'm a diver and same distortions are created by the fins. the animal seems to raise its head to suck some feed or water down its throat. to me a real genuine shot

Looks kind of like an elephant seal. If it was really taken in Lake Champlain, though, it can't be one.

racheltanjiarui is right. It is a turtle. Snapping turtle to be exact. Spend some time on Champlain or Lake George and you will see them too.
