The fruit vendor was wrongfully issued a ticket in violation of New York State Penal law 1.20 . On another note the van was for the most part in compliance with the white sign, however if you look at the video the van is just shy over the pole. Because of this the Traffic Agent uses this as a means to ticket the fruit vendor.

The simple fact is that NYC traffic agents have to write a ton of tickets....most are bogus summons issued falsely. Watch dog groups are out there...

The vendor's parking was legit. The cop is an idiot who is trying to showboat his power. The vendor AND the cameraman had every right to be pissed. Our tax money doesn't go towards the misuse of the power behind the badge. Period. The video camera/cellphone camera is the greatest thing since sliced bread. It will expose the brutality via ticket giving, using a badge to push your way around, and general nonservice the city gives its citizens. The traffic enforcement officer issued a citation to a civilian that had his vehicle parked at a no parking zone. it's part of his job to issue tickets to people who violated the traffic rules and regulation. The officer hasdone nothing wrong here. Would you call the fire department if someone strikes a match too!!

the car is clearly not in violation.... first of all this summons should have not been written for the simple fact there is a confliction of signs. there are two signs up on one pole. if you stop the video at 0:50 you can clearly see the arrow are pointing in the opposite direction of where the car is parked. the car is clearly not in violation. this officer should get a CD or a 49.

If This particular vendor, or any other vendor has, a valid liscense or permit to conduct buisness in that particular spot, the fact that his truck or van is parked next to it shouldnt be subjected to any ticketing practice, because he/she has permission from the city of ny to conduct business there.
