If god is almighty, he can do anything, and see the future. However, logically this doesn't work. If he can see what he is going to do in the future, then he cannot change his mind and do something else. If he does, the future he predicted would not happen.
So it is not possible, logically, to say that he can see the future and retain the ability to change his mind. One power robs him of the other.

Ever heard of the Cambrian explosion? Darwin himself didn't know the fossil record and hoped there would be fewer fossils the further back in time the records were to be found, it is the exact opposite. There is unbroken historical evidence for Christianity through time but there is no proving the big bang. The big bang theory is based on relativity which assumes that the universe started purely as light and that the collision of photons formed particles with mass that would compact forming heavier particles. Macro evolution is unobservable and the cell refutes it, the cell is information, information so advanced that we are only on the brink of beginning to understand it. According to Darwin evolution is like the patters in the sand on a beach left by waves but the cell is not patterns it is information. Molecular biology testifies to intelligent design, the odds of the first self replicating cell occuring purely by chance are impossible.

@epidome Evolution is a fact. Otherwise breeding wouldn't work. Natural selection is just nature's breeding. Evolution can not happen by chance. Natural conditions- food supply, environment, etc, dictate what characteristics allow animals to survive to adulthood to procreate. These characteristics are passed on to their offspring. Eg, if it's cold, bigger, furrier examples of a species will be more likely to survive. They pass this on to their offspring- in turn, only their hardiest
@sail2lakes offspring will survive, and so on, until many generations later, as an ice age unfurls, an elephant becomes a woolly mamoth, just as a wolf becomes a sheepdog over some generations of picking the friendliest cubs for breeding, or a wild cabbage becomes a brussell sprout when we pick the smallest examples for breeding. @sail2lakes, this doesn't make evolution true as the theory of Darwin defines it. You are talking about evolutionary phsychology which by the way humans do not follow at all. A bee with asymetrical wings will not find a mate to breed with which will not allow those genes into the next generation, this is not evolution. Humans find mates regardless of their genetic problems even though they are also governed by instincts most effected by hip waist ratio but bad genes get into the next generation
@sail2lakes, most evolutionists don't understand Darwinian evolution. Darwin's theory is that everything comes from one common ancestor which the fossil record denies. Present evolutionists try to say that adaption is evolution but that is not true of Darwinian evolution. Natural selection occurs but no invertebrate has ever become a vertebrate in fossil history. You see evolution is fact when there is evidence of this until then there is only adaption which is not evolution.
@AcousticTraveller, you should look up baryogenesis, it can't be solved. If the universe started off as light and formed particles with mass from photons without mass it would cause an equal amount of antimatter/matter formation meaning that the universe should be phasing from light to matter and back in short increments. Relativity hasn't answered all the questions and now dark matter is created to keep it legitimate. Our universe didn't just start as photons nor did life emerge from mud!

Remember you are claiming that every form of life comes from one common origin, that everything alive now is the modern evolutionary form it and that we all descend from a common ancestor which the fossil record shows the exact opposite to be true in the Cambrian explosion. Noah didn't have to take in 10 millions + pairs. 2 dogs were enough for all the wolfes, dogs, cayotes, foxes, etc. Same for horses were enough for all kinds including zebras etc..., 1 pair of cats were enough for all the wild and domestic cats out there. If you continue like this you only need few hundreds of pairs to cover all animals. And baby pairs of bigger creatures can be taken aboard.

I was in a cave last year where the stalagtites grew a millimetre or two every century, can't remember exactly how much. It had been measured since Victorian times. Many of these were ten+ meters long. The cave was young by geological standards.
What tells you they grew evenly every century? What tells you they didn't grow much faster at some time when there was flooding or something? Makes me think of your geological columns that make us understand that dust settled slowly like 2 milimeters per year to form the strata over millions of years. How could that cover dinosaurs to make fossils? They would decompose long before.

God's name in the ancient scrolls is YHWH not Yahweh, and it is not Jehovah - which was a form invented by a Catholic friar in the year 1270.
Your attack on evolution is not well-informed. Multiple branches of science confirm the observation that life has changed and evolved over eons of time, and continues to do so. Current primates and humans evolved from a common ancestor, it isn't "we evolved from monkeys".

If god is almighty, he can do anything, and see the future. However, logically this doesn't work. If he can see what he is going to do in the future, then he cannot change his mind and do something else. If he does, the future he predicted would not happen.
So it is not possible, logically, to say that he can see the future and retain the ability to change his mind. One power robs him of the other.
Of course you can say that god is above logic, but that way madness lies.

Of course there are people who have had demonic possession. My nieghbor onced played the WeeGee board & while I was talking to him outside (at night) a shadow walked right through me. He told me he didn't beieve in ghost like you before he played the board. It felt like someone had put a ice patch on my chest. That was my first ghost experience. My point is you can't say something doesn't exist just because you never experienced/seen it. There is more to this world than meets the eye.

@NigelChannon, if you are trying to say that evolution more logically accounts for all species than the ark does you are saying that all species originate from less than the ark's cargo! Ever heard of the Cambrian explosion? Darwin himself didn't know the fossil record and hoped there would be fewer fossils the further back in time the records were to be found, it is the exact opposite. There are fewer species now than in the past the exact opposite of Darwinian theory! The cell undoes it too.

There is unbroken historical evidence for Christianity through time but there is no proving the big bang. The big bang theory is based on relativity which assumes that the universe started purely as light and that the collision of photons formed particles with mass that would compact forming heavier particles. No one has made particles with mass from massless particles.

Macro evolution is unobservable and the cell refutes it, the cell is information, information so advanced that we are only on the brink of beginning to understand it. According to Darwin evolution is like the patters in the sand on a beach left by waves but the cell is not patterns it is information. Molecular biology testifies to intelligent design, the odds of the first self replicating cell occuring purely by chance are impossible.

Natural conditions- food supply, environment, etc, dictate what characteristics allow animals to survive to adulthood to procreate. These characteristics are passed on to their offspring. Eg, if it's cold, bigger, furrier examples of a species will be more likely to survive. They pass this on to their offspring- in turn, only their hardiest

@sail2lakes, most evolutionists don't understand Darwinian evolution. Darwin's theory is that everything comes from one common ancestor which the fossil record denies. Present evolutionists try to say that adaption is evolution but that is not true of Darwinian evolution. Natural selection occurs but no invertebrate has ever become a vertebrate in fossil history. You see evolution is fact when there is evidence of this until then there is only adaption which is not evolution.

If the universe started off as light and formed particles with mass from photons without mass it would cause an equal amount of antimatter/matter formation meaning that the universe should be phasing from light to matter and back in short increments. Relativity hasn't answered all the questions and now dark matter is created to keep it legitimate. Our universe didn't just start as photons nor did life emerge from mud!

The earth IS younger than taught. Charles Lyel invented the geological column BEFORE ragiometric dating was invented. So he took out these time lapses from his mind. When carbon 14 and others were invented they simply aimed at the approved dates until they got them. You should know that you can obtain many different dates from carbon 14 for a same item. With a creator God you don't need millions of years. You only need it to fit evolution.

Noah didn't have to take in 10 millions + pairs. 2 dogs were enough for all the wolfes, dogs, cayotes, foxes, etc. Same for horses were enough for all kinds including zebras etc..., 1 pair of cats were enough for all the wild and domestic cats out there. If you continue like this you only need few hundreds of pairs to cover all animals. And baby pairs of bigger creatures can be taken aboard.

I was in a cave last year where the stalagtites grew a millimetre or two every century, can't remember exactly how much. It had been measured since Victorian times. Many of these were ten+ meters long. The cave was young by geological standards.

What tells you they grew evenly every century? What tells you they didn't grow much faster at some time when there was flooding or something? Makes me think of your geological columns that make us understand that dust settled slowly like 2 milimeters per year to form the strata over millions of years. How could that cover dinosaurs to make fossils? They would decompose long before.

Noah was perfect in his generations because he walked righteously and didnt mix with the ungodly, but for others, the wages of sin was and is still death... Im sighing too my friend.

@inthedaysofnoah There is no such thing as perfection or imperfection in terms of humanity. It's entirely subjective. Though it's certainly imperfect to believe in god or bible nonsense.

Theists are cowards and have no claims to a more moral stand on life. Your responsibility for your actions are rescinded, you are "saved" from your wrongdoing. At least an atheist, while still human, must face up to his wrongs as his fault and not Satan's or some other fictional character's.
Counting a fictional character as an "authority" is tragically absurd, and produces such abusive liars as the WT whose hypocrisy you gleefully expose. Take a look in the mirror....

tedduncumbe, I can't say, of course, that there may or may not be a guiding force in the universe. But God? An invention of man. This is a scientifically absurd statement. In a cause and effect universe which ours is there has to be a first cause transcendent of what it causes because nothing can be the cause of itself or else it would have to be before itself. Even God didn't cause himself he is self existent and the Universe testifies to this because it has to have a first uncaused cause!

To assume that the 'first cause' was some kind of creation is rather arrogant. We understand the concept of creation. The universe is incomprehensible to our feeble minds, therefore the cause of it cannot be something we actually understand. We know that space is curved in three dimensions, rendering the universe finite yet with no boundaries. We can know this, but not really understand it. Creation is a cop out.

The only reason a person rejects God is because 1) God is an authority over man 2) God places rules over man 3) Man is in rebelion and want's to sin.
Man needs excuses to sin and Darwin provided it. Hey there's no God you can do what you like. Look at the world today, no morals, schools are zoos, no rules, people break in to homes in broad day light (home invasions). No authority in the home (can't correct your kids) so kids grow up without authority, they can't accept police authority or...

political authority. Violent crimes are rampant, just read the papers. Recently a guy decapitated his sister at her birthday and killed his other sister. A vietnamese went on a killing rampage in the streets, etc.. We have an army of psychologists and the world is getting worse and worse.
This is what happens when you kick God out of government, homes and schools. But you will continue in your denials because you SIMPLY DON'T WANT ANY AUTHORITY OVER YOUR HEAD. You want to SIN.

I do not want to "sin", as you quaintly put it. Evolution is our best explanation for life and stands up against god like granite to a feather if reason is your benchmark.
Look at the world in the middle ages, when everyone feared god. The crusades, the inquisition, burning people- humans capacity for evil is the same now, in a mostly secular society. So God is irrelevant, believe in him or not, folks will be evil.
Hitler was a Christian, Stalin was an atheist. Result- evil on both counts.
