Their is a "free to play" server, but it is just the one server...it's got a nice little install system that makes it possible for you to get going after only a fairly short download while it installs the rest of the game in the background as you play. That's a nice thing for those that hate to wait for a 13GB download/install...good overall game that is much more of an option now that hardware has caught up to it...doesn't take more than a $600 system to play it nowadays.

@jackeyjack yes is free to try and play but if you wont the real deal will need buy a account . still it's a good thing as many people need to try it and stop talking about a game they never played at this time now . because they game has changed alot those who played eq2 a year ago would need to relearn much to even play at 90 .

@Raikulxox I agree. I played WoW for two years, got bored, went to EvE, too much going on, more of a hobby. Then I've had WoW for 6 months again now a total of 4 hours of gameplay...just no interest, I just got the demo of EQ2 and looks good so far. Probably gonna buy it

Yes, I would have to agree, however, everquest is the reason WoW exists. Wow was made by a bunch of everquest players and much of the game is based on everquest.

The effects look pretty impressive but it looks like they have gone all out on character/spell graphics with very little environmental graphics. It looks dull..

true...but it only came out 2 weeks before wow...i dont think 2 weeks is gonna make the difference...maybe im wrong, but eq2 was november 8th and wow was november 23rd...what makes you so sure eq2 will work on his comp, jus cause it came out slightly before wow?
