  • I ment or drive this car

  • No do not by it drive this car. We lost a friend in an accident in one of these. The gas tank is in the back of the car, and if u get rear ended ur gonna end up just like Doug. He burned alive in his car. Fuckin drunk drivers. Rip Doug workman

  • I'd rather be in a smart car.

  • Actually, the windshield is stronger than the entirely car!

  • I (2000 blazer) got into a head on with a CRV; i was going 35 the other car was going probably 40. Anyways, we both walked away fine from the crash. Even though the CRVs structure held up a little better, the Blazer is a Body on Frame construction, the frame really did a work on the CRV which honestly i think kept me safe. In a real world crash I ended up fine, maybe I was lucky, but I think because my car had a frame and the other didnt, i had a slight advantage.

  • Atleast SUV`S have improved from then. I wonder how many of these got into wrecks....

  • shit that's scary

  • @fordruleskiasux no, you are wrong, Ford doesn't just beat toyota and honda... THEY COMPLETELY FUCK THEM! HAHAHA

  • the Trailblazer the fullsize blazer from 1980s to 1994 and the S10 Blazer of the 80s are much safer than the 92 through 2005 blazer

  • yepp!!! im fucked!

  • well. im glad im going to get completely raped if i get in an accident. i wonder how fast this car was going

  • 40 mph

  • @jwmckin08 oh......... good

  • this is damn safety ... :O

  • @CrashJSTest bias is what fox news is towards

    democrats lol

  • You would be dead

  • @fordruleskiasux I have a video I think you should watch;

put this on the end of youtube(dot) com:

    watch?v=xnWKz7Cthkk

  • @CrashJSTest Yeah its on Bajabusta's channel.

  • @CrashJSTest I know, but the 96-02 was the first 4runner to have airbags and it is most comparable to the 95-04 Blazer.

  • that dummy needs to learn how to drive.

  • Holy I want to sell my 2000 blazer now. I'm only 16 =(

  • @zCunfuse nah dude im 16 2 got a 2001 red Chevy blazer ls and i still dont want to sell i love my blazer just means try your best not to get in a head on collision. it doesn't matter what car you have, some may be better at crashing but you just have to pray for the best in a head on. and i take my license test on the 26 of may in about a week in a half im stoked

  • @zCunfuse i'll by it i need a part car

  • the 90's were a bad decade for GM safety.

  • Just a heads up...if the car crumples you along with it, that's not safe... at all. crumple ZONES do not include the passenger area..otherwise your crumpling your passengers like a transformer phasing while people are still inside

  • the 1996-2001 Oldsmobile Bravada was assembled in

    Moraine, Ohio, United States

  • the 1998-2000 GMC Envoy was assembled in

    Moraine, Ohio, United States

    Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, United States

  • the 1995-2005 Chevrolet Blazer was assembled in

    Linden, New Jersey

    Shreveport, Louisiana

    Moraine, Ohio

    São José dos Campos, Brazil

    Caracas, Venezuela

  • ejection seats would save more lives then airbags :)

  • This guy died in the front crash...

  • i hit a volvo and then a telephone pole going about 45 in a 96 jimmy two door. my airbag didnt go off and both me and the passenger were completely fine. it didnt look nearly as bad as this one

  • @raceman946 1: Every crash test is going to be different. Duh. 2: The airbags not going off is a pretty bad sign of old chevy quality.

  • the dudes legs would be crumbled all up rofl

  • i hit a blazer exactly like this at that same exact spot head on at 40mph in my 2000 Ford Ranger XLT. that blazer crumpled like a tin can as did this one in the video. coulda drove the Ranger home if not for a destroyed radiator and the driver side suspension being almost demolished but the truck was still running when the EMTs showed up

  • @1badmexican666 That's not a good thing. You WANT your vehicle to crumple and absorb the energy and protect you.

  • @ambientflier if my truck did crumble id probably be dead. rather have a rigid, sturdy vehicle

  • @1badmexican666 That's stupid. Cars that crumple and absorb the energy are the safest. You might think that a rigid and sturdy vehicle that doesn't crumple is best, but when you hit something large like a commercial truck or a tree, you'd wish otherwise.

  • Now compare this to a 96-02 4runner.

  • lol that blazer almost breaks

  • Holy fuck im done for i dont wanna get in a wreck now.

  • What speed was this?

  • @DDFJ1230 40 mph

  • i wish i never watched this cause i own a 98 blazer and now im a little skidish about highways now,

  • S**t!!!

A tiny, wheeny old Smart ForTwo is far safer, that is I would still be alive... Here, no chance.

  • @alernest and theres where ur wrong my friend your most likely not going to hit a concrete wall on a highway crash ur prlly gonna hit anthr car and heres where physics come into play its called inertia if u hit a car at 55 miles an hour like in the test above the car is going to move so your vehicle will take less damage thn shwn in the video above

  • @alernest Ram a SmartForTwo head on into this and tell me who wins.

  • @midgetmayo

Sadly it is likely the Smart. Check the videos of the smart hiting concrete or a big s-class. Yeah, I know the Blazer looks bigger...

Yeah, Chevies (at least in those years) were terrible in crashes. I remember they had to ban the Opel Sintra (a rebadged Chevrolet Venture) in Europe because the crashes didn't leave any chance of survival to its ocupants, the whole A pillar would completely collapse.

I still love this truck... I'll just try not to hit anything...

  • @alernest Ummm Hello? Check the video where they run the vehicles into eachother. The Smart would be done against a Blazer. By no means am I saying it did good on thiss test, because it didn't. But head on this into a Smart car.... Good luck Smart car.

  • @midgetmayo your dumb blazer are death traps and a smart car would take it head on like it did to a benz chevy sucks

  • @2003m36sp Wow, I'm not even going to argue you. I never said the Blazer was a safe vehicle. All I said was it would destroy a Smart in a head on test. Hell, an Accord did. Now quit screwing around on your mom's lap top. Thanks

  • @midgetmayo You retarded in 2008 the smart car the smallest car for sale in the US market earned the top rating for front and side crash protection there ugly and uncomfortable but there safe PS I'm on a tower bitch hate laptops now you go drive your blazer into a wall

  • @2003m36sp Sorry, not going to argue with you. Not worth it.

  • @midgetmayo type in smart car test midget

  • @2003m36sp

The smart car is only tested against things it's own weight. Furthermore, the IIHS tests showed that the car flew into the air and caused a lot of whiplash to the driver and passenger upon a frontal impact. It also put the car in other traffic.

  • @Gatedialer it was tested against benz

  • LET'S NOT FOOL OURSELVES:

It's a terrible, terrible, result. No chance of being alive.

I love this Blazer gen, robust offroad, beatiful but truth is self-evident here...

  • Wouldn't want to be the driver.

  • this crash was at 380 mph

  • haha, the windscreen is stiffer than the body of this junk. lol

  • Our `99 Blazer was such a maintenance money-pit at the end of its life, but was I not expecting this to be such an issue.

  • @mmolay i drive a blazer and i hate to admit it but GM didnt put much effort into these cars. the only good part of these cars were the 4.3l V6's. some had nice interior, but it was to make up for horrid trannys and this ^^^^^^^ crash tests...

  • @ktmyamaha01 Yes, and it's a shame. Before we got rid of ours, it was barely possible to go up on any hill. And we live in a hilly area.

  • @mmolay yeah i know. not one of the GMs best...

  • i dont care for this test much. i love my 98 gmc jimmy to death

  • @idontlikecops1 and it will make those words true general make crap=GMC

  • I was thinking of getting this as my first car but . . . hmmm

  • When I get my licence, I am NOT driving my dads truck

  • dude, i got hit in the side, back end, driver side of my blazer by a silverado while i was backing into a parking space, (cuz the other driver is an asshole) and all i had to replace was that little flare peice necxt to the bumper... $10 from junk yard, and his truck was fine. he was going about 15-20mph. chevy all the way.

  • I remember when we hit a small japanese sedan in our 1996 blazer and the other car was bent from the back and it had a big line going down the middle but our blazer just had the front quarter piece of the bumper loosened up

  • DAMN!

  • @Jersito009

its pretty safe if you hit something soft like another car however if you hit a poll or a tree at speed your fucked

  • @atgskater14 Well that goes for just about any vehicle dont it? lol

  • ouch!

  • dead

  • This test is misleading. Most real-world crashed don't involve cement walls. If you hit a car, it will move a lot more than a steel-reinforced concrete barrier.

  • @IronShligger

It will also be coming at you at about the same speed as you, so that evens it out.

  • @IronShligger Incorrect. Only the base is made with reinforced concrete. There is an extension in front of it, made of structural steel with a thick piece of plywood attached to the faceplate. In front of the extension is the deformable face. This is just the short, short version of what's in the IIHS's Offset Barrier Crash Test Protocol. These tests are a good at measuring the vehicle's structural integrity.

  • @IronShligger

true, but when you buy a car, you want it to be prepared for the worst right?

  • @IronShligger

I can't believe 8 people gave you a thumbs-up. The cars are crashed into a "Deformable aluminum barrier" that accurately simulates the crumple zone of another car. If you compare a frontal offset test of a car hitting one of these, with two cars of the same mass hitting eachother, the car will behave the same in either case.

    Thumbs down to you.

  • @IronShligger This is a constient barometer. All cars are tested in the same way, so if one reacts more poorly it is indicative that it is not as safe a vehicle.

  • yea i got rearended in my 99 blazer, and didnt even dent my bumper, but totaled her 2004 toyota matrix

  • how fast is that?

  • this video makes blazer look poor, in fact is that i had a head on crash wih my 99 chevy blazer right into a tree about 35 mph and comparing to this i didnt even have a scar or any fracture ..i dont know

  • Not exactly a five star rating by today's standards.

  • and when you look at this the drivers fine

  • I'm making a double take, it looks like the "driver" here, broke it's neck

  • just looked again youre right. i've seen blazers crash into cars theyre pefectley safe vehicles as long as you dont hit a wall or a telophone pole

  • why are you sticking up for chevrolet mate? i don't understand why anyone would

  • chevrolet is a great company it outclasses any imports

  • i can see what your saying, as it is your opinion mate, and chevrolete do make some nice cars and they are way better than toyota and dodge ect, but i prefer ford

  • @atgskater14 look at the iihs website the results are awful... the head is poorly protected hits the steering wheel (which moved upwards) through the airbag high acceleration when the head of the dummy hit the b-pillar, dummy kinematics were poor the survival space was kept poorly and you might injure your right leg and foot...

  • mmmmmmmmm fail?

  • actually this truck is built tough its steel is amazing if you get into a crash with a car (not a wall) youll be fine \

  • yyyyyyyyeah... I won't lie and say that that looked comfortable.

  • i hit a telephone pole in my 99 jimmy (obviousl total) doin 40mph, same result happend with mine, front was annihilated, winshield was crushed and the roof buckled exactly the same way. The truck did absorb the impact fairly well though, these are fairly heavy trucks, alotta steel around you. Seems this one was traveling maybe a little faster then mine was

  • @DegoDestruction it was going 40mph...

  • I think a direct hit into any solid object like that will cause serious damage to any car. The weight in the Blazer would easily move anything in front of it.

  • of course it's going to look bad, it weighs like 5000 lbs, that s why i love it, not like some shitty civic or other plastic car. they used all the full size truck stuff to keep it tough and to cut down on cost. i would annihilate a douche bag in a civic with my blazer

  • wow my mom has one, im not driveing it anymore u see roof and how it twisted fuck that bro

  • he's dead.

  • I don't care. I love my blazer so much, I'm still going to drive it fast after watching this. :)

  • l0l..me 2...i feel quite safe in my steel box :-)

  • Epic failure

  • his neck is broke omg bad i own a bravada 98 wow it lookd like that crash dummy is dead

  • windshields still good...lol

  • @blazin9683 haha yea, and it was the reason the roof got jacked up so high, simple fix just don't drive your blazer in to a solid steel block doing 55 mph, any thing else you hit is going to give more then that block they hit. love my blazer

  • Is this vehicle safe? :-\

  • Thank you both for the great laugh. I'm always amused when people over react and assume the worst of each other. Can't we all just get along?

  • Willconwell, apparently not. But I appreciate your nod to Rodney King.

  • i thought you didnt have one? how the fuck would you know? but i have had one and i had a 99 s 10 i gave my brother there is nothing on then thats not a piece of shit , GM even got sued over the fucking antifreeze!! lol anyone who has one is DAMN sure gonna put door hinge bushings, intake gasket ,water pump,a/c compressor, left upper control arm bushings. altenator, starter, and transmission in them,,but some people are lucky and the wiring problem burns it to the ground first

  • @1997FordProbeGT

Yeah I can tell. You sound like a pure genius. Did you read my comment? My wife works in the crash test/insuranc industry asshole! She just laughs at your pure, unabated ignorance/arrogance.

I bet your one of the freaking morons who say "those old 50's cars were so much safer b/c they were all steel". Am I right? LOL!

  • @1997FordProbeGT

Your a fool. Corolla, Civic, Camrey, Accord all have the highest safety ratings given by the National Hwy Safety Institute you moron.

SUV's are on of the most dangerous vehicles on the road. When hit by small vehicles, the small vehicle wedged under them & flips them upside down & they often flip over on thier own with sudden turns of the wheel.

They also didn't have to meet "passenger vehicle" saftey standards until 2003.

My wife is involved in the industry dimwit!

  • @1997FordProbeGT

Kiss my ass retard. Nothing the japs put out in the 90's balled up like this piece of shit did. A fucking Toyota corrola is safer! Enjoy your death trap!

  • And GM wonders why they're going out of business! Idiots selling junk like this!

  • gm actually faked some of the crash test results on this piece of shit and are getting sued

  • they may not be the safest truck but they last a lot longer than the dodge dakota and the ford ranger.

ive seen many 200k mile s10's still going strong.

  • i ve had two dodge dakotas and plenty of people with a ranger i put 170k on my first dakota on the original spark plugs! there has never been a 94 up s-10 made that could do that EVER my dad bought a new s-10 at the same time i got the dakota , he 's had to replace door bushings,a/c,water pump,radiator.transmission.control arms, intake gasket, lifters, starter and altenator, and numerous wiring probs, if u have the only one that has been reliable u need to call gm before they go bankrupt lol

  • ha fuck the 4banger.

got the good ole 4.3 vortech

i highly doubt your claim about your dads s10

also i never said the dakota couldnt last that long i just said the s10 lasts longer ive just seen more s10s with 200k+ then i have any other truck

i have nothing against the dakota or ranger just the s10 is better.

  • the 4.3 is a piece of shit , why would i lie bout the s-10 when i put the parts on it and by the way the piece of shit is broke down now it only has 123k on it the s -10 will never outlast a dakota or ranger and none of them have ever made it to 200 k of the 94 up the 82-93 was a good truck and lots of them got more than 200k second gen s-10s has 70 something recalls on it and numerous lawsuits ,and thers no way you have a 4.3 u havent put a intake gasket on

  • @viper11470

u really are a fucking retard.

no one i know has ever had that many problems with an s10. NO ONE

as for it being weak ha!

ive seen s10's haul pretty good size loads for their size

as for the interior i could give 2 fucks less.

  • you wanna pump up your truck go right ahead but it dont make it true the trucks are shit and you cant change it by lying about them i do this shit for a living i know , a fucking yugo was a better vehicle

  • mine has 200,000 on a 97 and will still do a burn out in 2nd and it is stock. and i can still take it off road and pull rangers and dakota's out when they get stuck. your just a dumb fuck that don't know what they are talking about.

  • well, the 4.3 in my 92 sonoma is an awesome engine. good torque.

runs like a champ. starts better than most new cars, all you do is bump the key and shes purrin like a kitten.

but you are right about the intake gasket.lol

but ive only replaced it once, that was at 190K. did it myself for the cost of a gasket and a saturday.

  • the 4.3 is a shit engine, the trannies are shit too, why would i lie bout the s-10 ive delt with ? its not just that one its everyone ive saw, ive towed more of these s-10s than any vehicle ive ever towed, usaully altenators and theres no way you have a 4.3 that you havent put a intake gasket on or waterpump, 4.3 gas mileage sucks and cant pull a fucking jet ski without straining , how many driver door hinges u fixed? lol if your lucky u can do bushing its 1300 to repalce door hinges

  • and the fucking interiors are really shit on these trucks but thats the same with all gm they never have had good interiors

  • if u do have one that has lasted its the 4 cyl isnt it? it was actually not too bad just not a power

  • @Phoenixfire360 i got A 99 blazer with 243,168 on it and she still hits 4.3 vortec all stock and i beat xjs all the time throgh the mud... with all season 15s on it lol

  • well at least they have strong windshields

  • so basicaly i would be dead if i got into a headon. (i driveone of these)

  • Gez, technically it's not a head on, it's an "offset" crash, which is actually more likely. Offset is when you and the other vehicle hit your left half of the bumper to their left half of the bumper. But getting back to your original point, yeah, you might be dead or hurt pretty badly.

  • this video makes me love my FJ Cruiser even more

  • well pretty much running into a wall at 35 is bad in any car

  • no problem with a modern mercedes...

  • no problem? thats going to fuck any car up even your modern day mercedes and besides volvo has the best crash test not mercedes

  • dude, its the POINt that the car gets fucked up - but NOT the passenger. besides volvo having the best crash test is a myth that obviously still has not been resolved in the last corners of the country...

  • The french build very safe cars. The usually score best in the euro ncap test.

  • its wrong to be French.

  • watch the back of the dummy's head smash into the door. Ouch!

  • Well...Ah shit,

  • wow thats me in mine

  • well there went my plan of goin 90 mph into a wall dang it lol i have one like this thats 4 wheel drive...ive always heard theyre bad about flipping i think id rather flip!!!

  • Mmm, not really. Most safety experts agree that you're five times more likely to be injured or killed in a rollover. It has a lot to do with head injuries, I believe.

  • "a little security in an insecure world"

  • My Ex drives the oldsmobile Bravada....do you think I should show her this video?

  • Man, my sister owns one of these and she has twin 5 year olds. Hope she doesn't wreck!

  • i don't feel so much safe anymore :(

  • Yeah i just read on msn these things have the #1 highest driver death figures! chevy #1!

  • i love chevys

  • And the windshield didnt even crack, now thats a chevy!

  • watch the dummies head...

  • o.O you know i have a 97 chevy blazer that was in a frontal impact before i got it the owner showed me pictures and it faired a hell of a lot better than this.

  • dead.

  • o jesus thats intence

  • fuck i am driving a 99 bravada from now i am going to drive with a lot of more care

  • Well, I'm scarred to drive mine now..

  • I am going to try a little harder to not hit anything...

  • like a rock.lol

  • Canoosh... Thank god we have people like you. Fuckin love you man.

  • these tests are done at 40 Mph not 35

  • What speed is this?

  • 35 miles per hour thats sad that did that. gm are reliable but not safe

  • must be high speed these are durable safe veichles mine has 128,800 + miles on it still runs like brand new that speed must be 80 or better safer than a smart car when pushed between 2 semis i still feel very safe in my 98 Jimmy best made mid size suv ever after all it is the American legand...

  • you wish I was full of shit. I speak the truth even if you dont feel like listening to the truth. So go drive your POS Blazer into a brick wall and write me back with the results buddy.

  • I think that most of the people that use blazers actually use them because of their utility and towing features. I mean, no one's going to buy a blazer just to drive around like a gangster with chrome spinners. You DO have to admit, Chevrolet has an outstanding record for trucks though... plus it's not like your going to drive around doing front-end impacts, lol.

  • Yeah, it would sound ridiculous if you went some where and said "I got 24's on my Blazer."

  • what a peice of SHIT. The drivers head pretty much flings out of the door. That is horrible. I just looked at the 1997 Nissan Pathfinder's crash test and it is MUCH better than this. I guess Nissan just makes a better SUV thats all. No wonder GM is going under. All their vehicles kill the passengers.

  • I'm turning 16 soon and this is what my first vehicle will be!!!

  • Nice knowing you.

  • Why would anyone buy this vehicle on purpose after seeing this?

  • What made you think that? What I meant from saying what I said is that I already own this vehicle and when I turn 16 it will be mine.

  • Dude, sell it and buy something safer. Being 16 you're already at a much higher risk of crashing, and then you have a truck that doesn't handle good and will rollover if given the chance, and is completely unsafe as seen from this video.

  • Buy something rated Good from the IIHS and put as many airbags around yourself as possible!

  • atlest the front windshield didnt have not 1 scratch on it.........look at it

  • Windshield is LIKE A ROCK! lol

  • I'm the original owner of a 1991 S-10 Sport Blazer 2-door with 209,000 miles. It's been wrecked (modestly) 3 times. I hope that will be it!!

  • uyyyyyyy no mames pobre baboso hp se rompio toda la madre pinches blazer valen madre lo bueno es que yo manejo despacito haha

  • Can I get a little less protection please?

    Imagine the 1990 model

This was supposed to be an improvement!
