In the second overtime, Miami had the ball at the 1 yard line on first down, down by a touchdown, and they couldn't get it in. That game had far more meaning and the offense trying to punch it in feature huge stars. No comparison which one was more impressive.
Very good point.I'm sure many Iowa fans will agree that that stand was huge. I know that, being a big 10 boy, that it was so great to see OSU win. Lets just say this. This was the best goal line stand that most Big 10 fans can remember. Iowa fans give it up for the OSU game winning the championship, I think. But this stand was pretty amazing on the 1 yard line with 7 tries. That makes this stand different and also more impressive IMHO.

This was probably one of Iowa's better games this year, with the best being the upset over an Illinois who beat Ohio State and Penn State. It was good for Iowa to get this to finish 6-6 (still should have made a bowl game because of the 4-4 Big Ten record), but on the other hand, I feel sorry for Syracuse who used to have a great football team, but has now fallen to about the level of Indiana.

This is the best goal line stand in football history. the only thing that would have made it better was if it was at Kinnick against some big ten team. Another really funny thing is that ISU sucked really bad this year (4-8) and they seem to not care?? IOWA NATIONAL CHAMPS IN WRESTLING (only their 21st national title). the biclones finsished fifth

The best goal line stand in football history? Give me a break. It isn't even the best this decade. Did you watch the 2003 National Championship between Miami and Ohio St.? In the second overtime, Miami had the ball at the 1 yard line on first down, down by a touchdown, and they couldn't get it in. That game had far more meaning and the offense trying to punch it in feature huge stars. No comparison which one was more impressive.

Very good point.I'm sure many Iowa fans will agree that that stand was huge. I know that, being a big 10 boy, that it was so great to see OSU win. Lets just say this. This was the best goal line stand that most Big 10 fans can remember. Iowa fans give it up for the OSU game winning the championship, I think. But this stand was pretty amazing on the 1 yard line with 7 tries. That makes this stand different and also more impressive IMHO.

This team earned the nickname "Cyclones" when they soundly defeated Northwestern University 36 - 0. The Chicago Tribune the next day headlined the story about the game with "STRUCK BY A CYCLONE -- It Comes From Iowa and Devastates Evanston Town." Since 1895 the name Cyclones has been associated with Iowa State.

This was probably one of Iowa's better games this year, with the best being the upset over an Illinois who beat Ohio State and Penn State. It was good for Iowa to get this to finish 6-6 (still should have made a bowl game because of the 4-4 Big Ten record), but on the other hand, I feel sorry for Syracuse who used to have a great football team, but has now fallen to about the level of Indiana.

Iowa dominated the Orange last Saturday and I loved every minute of it. Syracuse didn't even get a first down until the Third. I'm so glad Iowa played well. We should have had a better running game but I'll take the 35-0 anyday. GO HAWKS!!!
